We are Dahlia & Adam
Thank you for taking the time to get to know us. We are SO EXCITED to be growing our FAMILY.
We know that this is a difficult and important decision for you and we are GRATEFUL and HONORED that you are considering us as adoptive parents.
We are SO READY to bring another child into our lives.
We know what a selfless, amazing gift you are giving to whoever you choose as your child’s adoptive parents. WE HAVE BEEN VERY BLESSED TO HAVE ADOPTED A LITTLE GIRL ALREADY AND NOW WE ARE READY TO FIND HER A SIBLING.
We want you to know that your child will be extremely loved and cared for by two people who are committed to your child completely. We have a lot to share and even more to gain by bringing your child into our life.
From the first date, we felt a connection and very comfortable with each other, like we’ve known each other for years.
We met 14 years ago on a blind date and we were engaged 6 months later on a cruise in the Baltic Sea! We were married a year after that on the 4th of July, so there will always be fireworks on our anniversary!
This year will mark our 13th anniversary. We have so many common goals and dreams and we love making them come true. One lifelong dream for both of us was to see the Aurora Borealis, which we were able to accomplish together.
Our biggest dream was to start a family, and though we have struggled with infertility during our time together, we’ve seen how it has brought us closer as a couple and given us the strength to face anything together.
We are grateful that we were able to achieve the dream of starting our family with the adoption of our daughter Gabby and we look forward to completing our journey.
Our Gabby is going to turn 2 this August and we have had the most amazing time with her. We are so in love with her! She is sweet, strong, and independent. She loves stuffed animals, food, music and books. Sometimes we’ll find that she’s gotten herself up on the couch with a book and she’s just “reading” it quietly. She’s curious and observes everything and knows what she wants. She’s going to make a wonderful big sister! Adopting Gabby has been the best decision of our lives and we can’t wait to do it again!
Dahlia was truly born to be a mother! She’s always loved kids. Whether it’s her cousins’ kids, her friends’ kids or her own nieces and nephews, she loves them all so much. With Gabby, she is the loving, nurturing mom I always knew she would be. She’s with her practically all the time and you can see the bond Gabby has with her. She cooks healthy food for her, plays with her, reads her books, and changes most of the diapers. Just listening to her read a book to Gabby is the best and she takes such joy in watching Gabby’s antics. She loves her so much!
She is always open to new adventures and experiences. I never used to travel, but she’s opened me up to it and I am so grateful for it. Even before we met she took a trip on her own to Australia and New Zealand where she went skydiving and hang-gliding, and another time went backpacking through Europe! She had always dreamt of having a travel partner and I’m so lucky I’ve been able to be a part of her adventures. There are so many places I’ve seen and things I never would’ve done if it weren’t for her. Now she is looking forward to expanding our travel party with children and showing them all that the world has to offer.
Adam is my best friend! Sometimes he knows me better than I know myself! He always knows when and how to bring a smile to my face. He has a great sense of humor and always makes me laugh.
Adam is extremely talented! His many talents include music, photography and being a whiz at computers. Beyond his programming job, he has designed and written two apps for the iPhone and iPad. In college Adam studied theater and music. He composes, plays instruments, and has produced 2 CDs.
Adam absolutely loves being a dad. He is amazing with Gabby. He loves spending as much time with her as he can. He is always there to make her laugh and giggle and he participates in everything she does. He is always there to help feed her, bathe her, change her, and kiss her bumps and bruises. Adam wants to show Gabby the world, all it has to offer, and teach her everything he knows. He is already doing that by going to music class with her, going on family outings to the farmers market and zoo, and playing guitar for her. It always warms my heart to see them together and see how much love they have for each other.
Dahlia: I do some part-time work but mostly I’m a stay-at-home mom. And I love it!
Adam: I work as a computer programmer, which is a great job and allows for financial stability. My work involves customizing business software to suit the needs of my company. I enjoy the problem solving and have found that it combines my creative side with my technical/analytical side.
We live in a yellow house with green trim on the corner of a beautiful tree-lined street, where we have lived for the past 13 years. Our neighborhood is warm and friendly, and there are many families with young children.
We are within walking distance to a big park and recreation area that has a new play area, a baseball field and many soccer fields. You can always see people walking with their kids or dogs to the park and around the neighborhood and we are one of them.
We are very close to a beautiful lake with ducks and geese. You can rent paddleboats or play in one of several play areas. There is also a Japanese Garden in the neighborhood.
Our home is always open to family and friends. We especially love having them over for holidays and special occasions. Friends whose families live far always tell us that they feel like our family is their family and our home is their home.
Sasha is 8 years old and loves babies and children. She has a great personality and is very playful. She likes to greet and kiss everyone. She loves cuddling on the couch with Gabby, getting her belly scratched, sleeping in bed with us and going for walks (especially, when all of us are together).
We both come from very loving and supportive families. They have all been so supportive of Gabby’s adoption and they are excited that we want to do it again.
Most of Adam’s family lives on the east coast. Luckily for us, his older brother and his wife live just 5 minutes away. They have a 6-year-old daughter and a 2-year-old son and we often get together with them. Though Adam’s parents and his other three siblings live far, we talk on the phone and video chat. We also try to see each other at least once a year, if not more, whether we go back east or they come out here. We like to celebrate birthdays and holidays together as often as we can.
We are fortunate to live near Dahlia’s family. We get together all the time for family dinners, BBQs, birthdays, game nights and holidays. Her sister has a 4-year-old son and a 2-year-old daughter and her brother has a 2-year-old son. GRANDMA AND GRANDPA ARE EXCITED TO SEE THE FAMILY GROWING.
Dahlia has lots of aunts, uncles and cousins who live in the area and are a very close bunch. There are always weddings, birthdays and holiday celebrations with everyone.
We also have a lot of great friends who we have known for a long time and we see often. They are so excited we have made the decision to adopt again, especially because a few of them have adopted too. THEY CAN’T WAIT TO HAVE ANOTHER LITTLE ONE JOIN OUR GROUP.
We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to get to know us. It is impossible to express into words how much it will mean to us to complete our family. Whatever you decide, you have our support and respect. If we are blessed to be the couple you choose, we will be forever grateful to you for giving us the gift of another child. We will love, cherish and nurture your child through their entire life and we will make sure they know where they came from and the sacrifice you made.
