Doug and Mark

HELLO and WELCOME!

WE  ARE  DOUG & MARK  FROM  CALIFORNIA

First, let us start by saying THANK YOU for this opportunity of introducing ourselves and giving you a glimpse into our lives. Both of us are honored by your decision and respect that choice.

We understand that becoming fathers is an enormous commitment and we know that we have the love and compassion to be the BEST DADS EVER. The next few pages will give you a peek into our lives with family, friends and traditions we hope we can share with your child.

GETTING TO KNOW US

We met in November of 2014 and it has been an exciting ride. Our first date was at a Chinese restaurant and we sat there for six hours learning about each other; our likes, dislikes, family and even the subject of fatherhood. Which led to our marriage in May of 2017.

We’ve always wanted to be dads and your gift to us would be a true blessing. We can’t wait to go to baseball games or dance recitals, make macaroni art projects and even parent teacher night at the school.

The first thing you should know is that we are always laughing with each other. We say I love you every day. We believe in kissing each other good bye when we go off to work. And we NEVER fight. We talk with each other instead. We enjoy baking desserts and cooking in our kitchen. Doug cooks a terrific brisket. We love taking long walks at the local parks, visiting family nearby and going to different restaurants.

We enjoy going to the theatre, visiting family, gardening, baking, creative adventures, and eating out at different restaurants. With a new child in our lives, we will explore more places and teach our child about different cultures, nature, and Disneyland! Haha!

We truly enjoy all the times we spend together; whether it be out for a drive or miniature golfing or just sitting on our couch, and we CAN’T WAIT TO SHARE THOSE TIMES WITH YOUR CHILD.

WHY I  LOVE DOUG BY MARK

When I first met Doug, I knew in that moment that we were going to spend the rest of our lives together. He is kind and attentive and I thought to myself, this is a man that you would want in your corner. Doug possesses many honorable traits, like being protective, smart, and caring and that he would make A WONDERFUL DAD.

One characteristic of Doug that I love is his DEVOTION TO HIS FAMILY and his stories of tradition. His mother, Sandra, has taught him independence, honesty and responsibility. Doug is also adventurous. All I have to do is ask and Doug is planning our next great outing. We have gone to the theatre, day trips to Palm Springs and the mountain house in Lake Arrowhead. Doug went into action and, even, planned a great trip to New York for a family event and I had the best time. A child will only have fun with Doug, seeing all kinds of neat places and having fun things to do.

DOUG,  in a nutshell, is FUNNY, RESPONSIBLE, LOVING, A GREAT PROVIDER, AN AMAZING COOK, CREATIVE AND ORGANIZED. Our child would get NOTHING BUT LOVE from Doug, my Tin man.

MY THOUGHTS ABOUT MARK BY DOUG

I knew from the first time I met Mark that we would be together a lifetime, that this would be the man I would marry and grow old with. WE MARRIED MAY 7, 2017!

Mark is a kind hearted man, he would do anything for our child. I admire that he is very close with his family, there is unconditional love on both sides. All his nieces and nephews look up to him, respect him, and have fun with him.

When we have family and friend events at our home, Mark always makes sure everyone is having a good time, participating, and having fun. He is truly the life of the party! At a carnival themed party we had recently, Mark jumped in the monster truck bouncer with his nieces, nephews, and cousins and bounced to his heart’s content. They had a blast!

I WOULD LOVE TO SEE MARK HAVE THE SAME GOOD TIMES WITH OUR FUTURE

LITTLE ONE!

MARK IS A KID AT HEART!  HE IS OUTGOING, CREATIVE, HARD WORKING, LOVING, PROTECTIVE, POSITIVE, ADVENTUROUS, AND FUN.

All qualities of being a GREAT DAD.   He would be such a proud dad!

 THE PEOPLE WE LOVE

We have a strong, loving connection with our FAMILIES AND FRIENDS.

When both families met, they instantly loved each other. They have shared in special occasions including Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas, Birthdays, and Our Wedding. We love that these moments are filled with laughter, hugs, and sharing traditions. . . oh, and food! Both mothers love to cook for their families and the one joy they both receive is teaching the younger ones traditional dishes. Whenever the families get together, it is a night of sharing. Our entire family is looking forward to adding another member to this loving family to spoil with hugs and kisses.

OUR FRIENDS ARE PART OF OUR FAMILY TOO. Doug’s friends are from the furniture industry and Mark’s friends are from the theatre world. We love our friends because they are creative people and, at our dinners, they always make being together an enjoyable time.

The support and care that they give us in our endeavor of adopting is a true blessing.

MEET OUR FURRY FRIENDS

We have four cats in our home; Miss Lily, Chance, Charlie and the other Lily. All of our cats are special to us because we rescued them, and now they have a loving home to purr in. THEY ARE FRIENDLY WITH PEOPLE, LOVE TO SLEEP, AND LOVE TO BE PET.

OUR BIG THANK YOU

FOR BOTH OF US, HAVING A CHILD HAS BEEN A LIFELONG DREAM. SINCE WE FOUND EACH OTHER, THAT DREAM IS NOW COMING TRUE.

We promise to always be there for your child, to love them unconditionally, and to support them. We promise to set boundaries, where responsibility can be learned. We promise to teach strength and how to be a good person. We promise to say I love you every day and make sure they stay safe. We promise to be there in good times and bad times, to pick up the pieces when times go wrong and reassure them that everything will be okay. Ultimately, we promise to be the best dads and to fill your child’s life with LOVE, EDUCATION, TRADITIONS, ADVENTURES, and FUN.

Thank you,

Doug & Mark
