Dear Birth Mother,
Thank you for taking the time to read our letter. Please know that we admire your courage and fully support the unselfish decision you are about to make. We understand how difficult this decision must be and thank you from the bottom of our hearts for considering us as adoptive parents to your child. We assure you that if you choose us to parent your child we will dedicate our lives to raising, protecting, and offering unconditional love to your child.
We are Steve and Janet. We have been happily married for 10 years. We have a very close, caring relationship based on love, honesty, and trust. Steve has an excellent and stable job working for an oil refinery. He has been on his job for 19 years and enjoys it very much. Janet has chosen a more diverse career path. She has been an insurance agent, hospital volunteer and homemaker. Although we are both extremely committed to our jobs, our number one commitment has always been family.
We are very active people who love to travel. We love to go to the ocean every chance we get. One of our favorite destinations is Hawaii. When we’re in Hawaii we do everything from relaxing on the beach to going on ATV excursions. Steve has even taken surfing lessons! We are kids at heart and can’t wait to share our love of travel with your child. Your child will be able to see all parts of the world. We have a travel trailer that allows us to vacation throughout the entire United States. We have visited so many beautiful places and can’t wait to share these experiences and more with your child.
Aside from travel, we feel exposure to art and music is very important. We are truly blessed to have some of the finest museums, art centers and music centers in the world in our area. We can’t wait to share our enjoyment for different types of art and music with your child. Our love for art and music is only matched by our appreciation for nature. After serving in the military, Steve got his degree in horticulture. Your child will be encouraged to learn about and explore nature and will surely develop a little green thumb in the process!
In both of our families we have strong extended family ties. Janet’s parents have been married for 54 years! Steve’s mother lives a very short distance away and we get together several times a week. Janet’s sister has been married for 20 years and has 2 sons ages 15 and 12. Steve has two sisters, one lives in Florida and the other lives in California. Both are happily married and visit as often as they can. As a family, we get together every holiday for fun, games and good food. Everyone in our family is supportive about our decision to adopt. The happiness your child will add to our lives is matched by the happiness and love your child will receive as part of our family.
We live in a charming neighborhood in Southern California, only a few miles away from the beach. It is a safe, family-oriented neighborhood with a great school district and wonderful local parks. The elementary school is only one block away and the parks offer numerous activities for a child to enjoy. Most of our neighbors have owned their homes for years and we are lucky enough to have great relationships with many them.
Janet enjoys animals. She has 3 poodles. Their names are Bailey, Penny and Lacie. Bailey is a cream color, Penny is champagne and Lacie is jet black except for a little white spot on her chin. She also enjoys cross stitching, cooking and having friends and family over.
Steve enjoys gardening. He can spend several hours in our yard taking care of our 30 rose bushes. He’s an avid reader and collects antique books. He has also been collecting salt and pepper shakers for many years and has a very large music collection.
If you choose us to adopt your baby, we promise you that we will love your child with all our heart and will always put your child first in our lives. We promise to raise him/her with all the morals and values that we were raised with, to teach your child the difference between right and wrong and to provide him/her with a quality education. We promise to give your child a home full of unconditional love, laughter, and encouragement where kindness and respect are not only taught but also expressed to one another on a daily basis. Please know that your child will always know where they came from, how they came to us, and how wonderful we think their birth mother is.
