Dear Birthmother,
Thank you for looking at our letter. You are making such a brave and responsible choice by making an adoption plan for your baby. You can be certain that this baby will always know that you made a decision based on the purest love. We will gladly tell this baby the special way that he/she came into our family and the respect that we hold for you. We hope that this letter will give you a little idea about us and our lives.

We met when Carole was finishing college and Clyde was just starting his own business. We dated for 5 years and then we were married in an intimate backyard wedding. We are deeply committed to each other and our relationship. We have met life’s challenges by relying on each other and having a good sense of humor. We know that we will always be together and will provide this baby a safe and solid family.

From CAROLE
I was born and raised in Anaheim, California and am the “baby” of 7 children. I have always wanted a big family of my own. My mother lives about an hour away and we see her as often as possible. My five brothers live in California and my sister is in Illinois. We see each other several times a year for large family parties. I have 15 nieces and nephews from all grown up to toddlers. They are a great group of cousins who enjoy each other’s company and it will be fun to watch them grow up together.
I received my bachelor’s degree from Long Beach State. Clyde and I both feel that education is so important and will be sure that our children have every opportunity to go to college and pursue whatever interests them.
After I finished college, I joined Clyde at the company and have stayed there ever since. When Henry was born I cut back on going to work and now I only work one day a week. I have a playroom attached to my office so that when Henry goes with me he has his own area. He loves to visit all of his “office” friends and they have enjoyed watching him grow up.
Life is full and fun. I have a great time playing with Henry and watching learn so many new things. I also enjoy reading magazines, talking to my friends or just relaxing. I love taking photos of our family and friends.

From CLYDE
I was born and raised in Los Angeles and am the second of 5 children. My mother lives about 30 minutes away and we see her as much as possible. She loves to visit Henry and play and he loves his Grammie. My older sister lives in the same city and another sister lives in Oregon and visits about 6 times a year. My sister Janet lives about 10 minutes away and we enjoy getting together with her family. We take turns hosting the holiday gatherings and family parties and we always have a big, noisy crowd with lots of food and laughter.
I have very good memories of serving in the Navy for 4 years. After that I went to college and received my B.A. and a Master’s degree. I started my own business in 1983. I am very proud of the fact that I started completely on my own and now have more than 50 employees. We are so fortunate to have some great long term employees that allow me to spend much less time at work and more time enjoying Henry and our other family activities.
Henry and I love swimming and even have matching swim trunks. I also enjoy going to the movies or visiting with friends.

About HENRY
In 2001, after several years of fertility treatments, we were blessed with a son. Henry is an absolute delight. At 6½ he is learning so many things and brings so much fun into our lives. Henry goes to kindergarten and is learning so many new things. Henry is so enthusiastic and excited by each new experience that it is great fun to share his joy. He is crazy about all things “pirates” and loves to dress up as Captain Jack Sparrow. He also enjoys taking Tae Kwon Do classes and has moved up to green belt level.
Our favorite things to do as a family are simple, fun activities like going to the park or the beach, swimming, eating out or visiting with friends and family. Henry would love to have a little brother or sister to play with and is excited to take on the job of “big brother”.

OUR HOME
We moved to our current home near the beach 10 years ago and knew as soon as we saw it that it would be our home for life. The view of the Pacific Ocean and Catalina Island is so beautiful and relaxing. We have a 4 bedroom, single story home in an established neighborhood. The open family/living/dining room floor plan is perfect for hosting our many large get-togethers. The California climate is mild year round so we are able to spend a lot of time outdoors, even in the winter.
We enjoy hosting an annual 4th of July party with our family and friends. The city puts on a huge fireworks show nearby that we can easily see from our backyard. Everyone enjoys the hot dogs, ice cream sundaes and fireworks spectacular.
There are several families with small children nearby and we are within two blocks of a large park with soccer fields, tennis courts, basketball courts and new playground equipment. Henry loves it and would spend hours and hours at the playground if it were up to him.
So that’s a short story of us. We have a solid relationship, a son we adore, a large (and still growing) extended family nearby, a home we cherish, our own business that is challenging yet exciting, enough flexibility to make our own schedules and a waiting place in our family and our hearts for a baby.
We are thrilled to be growing our family through adoption. We truly believe that families are created in many ways and that each child will grow up where he/she is meant to be. We look forward to meeting with you and learning what your hopes and desires are for this baby. You will be in our thoughts and prayers every day.
