Dear Birthmother,

We feel so fortunate that you are considering us as adoptive parents for your baby. We can only imagine what a difficult decision this is for you, and whether or not you decide to place your child for adoption, we wish you and your baby the absolute best in everything.

We are David and Karl (although everyone calls him K.C.) and we are so excited for the day we can bring a baby into our lives to love and adore! We met as neighbors and have been together for six very happy years. We are soul mates and each other’s best friend, and from the beginning of our time together we've talked about how much we both want to be parents. Creating a family is a special bond we yearn for tremendously.

We both have careers we enjoy very much. K.C. makes his living as an actor and has been in many Broadway plays. David is a writer and is currently working on a television series. We love our work but we always save time for each other. We are fortunate to have jobs that allow us to be flexible. That way family will always come first. We often spend our free time outdoors. We like to travel and ski. KC is an avid reader, teaches gymnastics and takes trapeze class. David's hobbies include crossword puzzles, running and cooking.

Our home is in a big city with so much to offer and we also have a beautiful house near a beach where we go on weekends. It’s a big house with a large lawn, a swimming pool, and incredibly tall trees, ideal for a tree house.We want to lie in the back yard, play games and read Dr. Seuss.We can't wait to take a child to the beach, build sand castles and swim in the ocean.

Our extended family plays a big part in our lives. K.C.’s sister Pam and her husband Chris have three amazing young boys who live nearby and we see them often. We go to their Little League games or build forts in the woods behind their house. K.C. is really good at building forts! KC's parents are close to us too and can't wait to be grandparents again. David’s sister Wendy has three sons as well and they simply adore their uncle. David’s brother Tom and his wife Tracy have two young children also. Getting everyone together is the best part. David cooks big dinners and everyone talks about all the things that are going on in our lives, but the best part is always just playing with the kids.

We know your beautiful baby will have a large extended family to grow up with. They will be surrounded by so much love from so many people, including all our friends who we hold so very dear. We believe in a life surrounded by kindhearted people and want to raise a child with the same sense of awe and wonder we feel about the world. We’re both very spiritual people and try to live knowing the most important things in life are compassion, gratitude and love.

For us, raising a child would be a dream come true. We long to share our blessings with a child, to nurture and protect; to start the family we have always wanted. We wish you the best in your decision and want you to know how much we respect you for giving the gift of life. Thank you for reading our letter.
