Beth and Scott

Dear Birthmother,

Thank you so kindly for considering us as parents for your baby. As we sit here writing to you, we have so much compassion for what you are going through. We know this is not an easy decision. Our hearts are already with you. Just know that what you are doing is noble, brave and beautiful.

We are Scott and Beth. We have been happily married for 13 years, together for 16. We met in an elevator. Yes, an elevator, going up. And the ride hasn’t come down. We have an incredible marriage based on love, laughter, faith and friendship. And it still feels like we just met yesterday.

We have two fantastic boys, Wilson, 6, and Jackson, 9, and two black labs, Daisy and Patrick. Scott and I were together for 7 years before Jackson was born. Wilson came along three years later. We love our boys with our hearts and souls. They make us laugh till we cry. We dance (Scott and Wilson do a great Robot), we sing and we chase lots of balls.

We are an active family living in Southern California. We love to be outdoors. We swim, play sports and love the beach. We also love to go to the movies or watch them at home. We love comedies. There’s nothing that warms our hearts more than hearing our boys laugh hysterically.

Two years ago, we felt there was one little soul that was missing from our family. We tried many times to conceive on our own. After several miscarriages and two failed IVF’s, we are here today to find that angel. A beautiful thing about this is that Scott was adopted, too. Because of these reasons and many more, adoption feels so right for us. We want our family to be complete and believe that with your kindness, selflessness and spirit, we can find our little angel.

ABOUT BETH:

I am the youngest of three girls. My parents have been happily married for 47 years. They live nearby as do my 2 older sisters who each have three kids. There are 8 grandkids all under 13 years old and they love, love, love each other. Every time they are all together, they play, run, and they giggle endlessly. It’s magical. My parents are incredibly young at heart. Their home is like a magical retreat where we all converge for holidays and meals. My boys think my Dad is the funniest man alive and that my Mom’s chocolate chip cookies are unparalleled.

I am a yoga teacher by trade stopped working tp be a stay at home mom. My days are spent making lunches, bringing the boys to school, and volunteering in their classrooms. I love to walk my dogs and practice yoga and pilates. I am a passionate, creative cook and I love to try new recipes and hope (and pray) that everyone likes them!

I like to sing loud in my car. My boys said that I might even make it past the first round of American Idol. Ha! I also like to crack people up, finding the humor in every situation; yet, I can be very serious and real. I have great friends and family who can absolutely count on me. They can be sure I’ll call to just say how much I love them, listen to their problems and bring over a fresh baked banana muffin if need be!

ABOUT SCOTT:

I was born in Miami, Florida and was adopted when I was a few days old into a beautiful, warm, loving family.  My adoption was a “closed” adoption, and I still, to this day, do not know who my birthparents were.  Because of this, I understand the importance of sharing the adoption story with our child. My adoptive parents still live in Miami, as does my older sister and her husband and son.  My parents visit L.A. a couple of times a year, and we try to make it to Miami at least once a year.

The boys and I love sports and I help coach their baseball, basketball and soccer teams. I’m even a soccer referee this season for the first time!  By day I’m a builder, and a partner in a construction company.  We build custom homes.  I studied architecture in college and love what I’m doing.  Beth and I are building our own house right now, and we can’t wait to move in before the end of the year. We planned an extra bedroom in the house for the nursery and can’t wait to hear it filled with the sounds of a baby soon! I love to surf, and play and watch sports; but most of all I love to just hang out with Beth and the boys

As parents, we overflow with love, compassion and kindness. We believe that the best way to walk through life is to be kind to yourself and others. We model this for our boys. We help them garner the tools they need to be confident and happy. This is our greatest pleasure. We can’t wait for the privilege to be parents again.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. We hope that you resonate with who we are as people, parents, friends and family. Please know that we will provide this child with an incredible life filled with unconditional love, laughter, peace and hope.
