Dear Birth Mother,
Hello! We are Christopher and Steven. We live in Southern California with our dog Rusty and have been together for five years. We are very honored that you are taking the time to get to know a little bit about who we are, both as individuals and as a committed couple. We know the decision to place your child for adoption is not a simple one. Please know that we have the utmost respect and admiration for you and the decision you are making.
Christopher was born and raised in Las Vegas and comes from a very large family. Adoption has played a very big part in his life. Throughout his childhood, Christopher’s parents had a foster home. There were always a lot of children around, sometimes as many as ten. When Christopher went away to college, his mother began the process of adopting his sister Jewel. Since then his mother has adopted three more children, Paris, Whisper and Ozzy. Christopher’s brother Michael and his wife Francy also adopted a son, Sammy, after having two boys of their own. It’s a big family. It’s a diverse family. And it is a supportive and loving family.

Christopher has been dancing all his life and still loves to take class whenever he can. He is also a cartoonist. Christopher created a comic strip in his own style that talks about life in Hollywood. Christopher also loves to spend time in his garden. He loves to work outside in the sun and grow new plants and watch them as they thrive and bloom. Christopher has a gentle, nurturing soul, and is very good at helping people become the best that they can be. He is a great listener and has a great insight to those around him. He is always there with a helping hand or open ear. Christopher sees the potential in everyone and loves to see them succeed in all they do and fulfill all of their dreams.

Steven was born and raised in Portland, OR. He also comes from a large family. He has two brothers and a sister. His older brother Jay and his wife have two boys Sam and Chris (born on the day of our first date). His younger brother Kurt and wife Sarah just welcomed their first daughter, Frances, in April.

Steven loves to read, mostly mystery books, but he also loves history. He especially has a love for English history and anything about the royal family. He knows all the Kings and Queens of England and can tell you anything about them. He also loves to cook and plan for large dinner parties. He will do research on menu items put them all together and cook it all for our guests to enjoy. He loves to meet new people and find out all about them. This quality has helped him become a better teacher because he understands his students more and what their specific needs are.
Steven is a music teacher at the college level and is currently getting his Doctorate in Vocal Arts. He is also a musical director for local theater. Christopher is an actor and manager at a restaurant but hopes to be a stay-at-home dad really soon.
Together we love to go to the movies or to the theatre. We love taking weekends off and taking the train up the coast and exploring new town and cities. The beach is also one of our favorite getaways. Every summer is spent in the Pacific Northwest doing musical theatre. It is actually were we met and has become our home away from home. Steven has worked there every summer for 11 years and Christopher has worked there on and off since 1994. We love is there and can’t wait to share it with your child.
We live in a beautiful neighborhood with many parks, schools and libraries. It is a diverse neighborhood with many people our age
also starting their families. Our home is full of music and laughter. Steven can often be found at his piano learning a new song or practicing for a performance. Many people have told Steven he is the funniest man they know. We laugh a lot. We love to have friends and family over for holidays (Steven makes a mean Thanksgiving turkey), and any other occasion we can make up. We have very loving and wonderful friends, who make such an impact on our lives everyday. They are our extended family and look forward to having a new niece or nephew to spoil.
It has always been one of our greatest dreams to have a child. We will teach your child love, respect for himself or herself and respect for others as well as helping provide the type of education we both have. We will teach your child how to laugh. We will take him/her to the beach and teach him/her how to make a sandcastle. We will teach him/her how to dance and sing just because it feels good. We will teach him/her anything and everything we possibly can and know that everyday he or she will be teaching us too.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know us even for a short amount of time. We are looking forward to meeting and getting to know you as well. We know this must be a very difficult decision for you and we respect your bravery, your strength, and your love.
