Dennis and Mike

Dear Birthmother,

Hello! We’re Dennis and Mike, and we feel honored that you’re considering us to be the adoptive parents of your child. We realize the choice you are making must be a difficult one but also one of the greatest expressions of love and caring that a parent can give to a child. We want you to know that we’d feel so blessed to be parents. As adoptive parents, we will love, cherish, protect, and nurture your child.

About Us
We first met in 1999 when Mike interviewed for a job at the university where Dennis worked. Over time, we worked on projects together and got to know each other very well. Two years later, we began dating and found we had a natural connection. We made each other laugh, we both came from loving and supportive families, and we really enjoyed the time we spent together. In 2005, we affirmed our love and commitment to each other in a ceremony with our families, our friends, and our minister. At this point in our lives together, we yearn to be parents and cannot wait until we can share all the joy and wonder of our life together with our adopted son or daughter.

We recently moved into a four-bedroom home in a Maryland suburb just outside Washington, D.C., close to several parks and playgrounds, some of the best schools in the area, and the university where we work. One of our favorite parts of our home is the large shaded patio and backyard, where our dog, Lewis, loves to run and play.

Both of us still work for the same university where we met – Dennis as a residence hall administrator and Mike as a policy analyst. As university educators, we know our child will receive a wonderful education and will have opportunities to explore new places, develop talents, and discover many wonderful things!

About Dennis
I was born in Massachusetts, the oldest of four children. Growing up, my mom ran a daycare out of our home, so we always had lots of other children around us. As I got older, I loved helping my mom with the little ones. One of the greatest gifts my mom gave me was the love and affection that she nurtured and taught us – not only for me and my siblings but also for others in need of love, caring, support, and affection.

I enjoy reading and cooking, especially making up new dishes and experimenting a bit. I also like watching my favorite TV shows, gardening, home repairs, and walking Lewis around the neighborhood to play with the other dogs.

About Mike
II was born in New York, the second of three boys. My family is a typical Italian-American family – close-knit, loud, fun, opinionated, loving, and supportive. My parents, who have been married for more than 35 years and now live in Florida, set examples for the kind of parent I want to be – teaching us about trying new things, being kind to others, and looking out for each other, among other things. My brothers and parents have been incredibly supportive and unconditionally loving – values that shape the way I want my own family to be.

In my free time, I enjoy tinkering with technology and gadgets, watching TV, and spending time with friends. On occasion, I get adventurous and try my hand at cooking – I’m usually not the person who cooks so it really is an adventure!

Family and Friends
Our family and friends are very important to us. We are close to our families and see them several times a year, even though they live in different parts of the East Coast. Between the two of us, we have five nieces and we adore each of them! In addition to our immediate families, we are blessed to have close relationships with our grandparents, many cousins, and other family members. All of them are thrilled about the possibility of us bringing another child into the family to love!

We spend lots of time and frequently travel with our best friends, Keira and Mindy, and their young son Gus. Gus, who is our godson, is growing up so quickly and has such a special place in our hearts. Most weeks, we look forward to our Friday night routine – having dinner, playing board games, watching movies, and catching up on our weeks. Recently, we instituted Sunday evening “family nights,” when we take turns making dinner and relaxing before the work week begins. Family night is quickly becoming one of the traditions we look forward to each week!

Adopting a child would be one of life’s greatest gifts for us. We are ready for the joys and challenges that come along with raising a child. We know we’ll give a child a loving, nurturing, and safe home. We know that between the two of us, our friends, and our families, your child will never be lacking love and affection or any of life’s necessities. We are so excited to be fathers, and we thank you so much for considering us and for taking the time to read about us and our family.

If you have any questions or would like to speak with us about adopting your child, please contact one of our adoption advisors at AdoptHelp by calling 1-800-637-7999 toll-free.

Thank you again and please take care.

Sincerely,
Dennis & Mike
