As we write this letter, our hearts are filled with gratitude, anticipation and wonder at the process we hope to share with you.

Gratitude — because you are opening yourself to giving the ultimate gift of life. It is only through your generosity that we may someday nurture and raise a child. You are courageous and strong to take the steps you are taking.

Anticipation — because the future is as yet unknown to us all.

Wonder — because we respect and honor the amazing connections which have brought us to this place and which link us together.

We are truly ready to welcome your child, who would be lovingly raised in sunny Southern California in a beautiful neighborhood surrounded by supportive family and many close friends with children. We lead fun and active lives, and are both fit and healthy.

Our Story

We met in law school and have been together for eighteen wonderful years. We live in a hilltop home with our black-and-white cat who can fetch a mouse and do tricks -- just like a little dog. The children who come here tell us we have a very magical house and that it is a really cool place for kids to play. We have a very large backyard and deck, with fabulous views of the Hollywood sign and the downtown LA skyline.

For fun, we often visit nearby Disneyland, Sea World, Legoland, Universal Studios and Venice Beach with our nieces, nephew and godchildren. We also take them with us to baseball games, theatre, opera, musical performances, museums and fun educational venues. Everyone loves our annual Fourth of July barbecue, which features gourmet food and homemade barbecue sauces created by Cynthia.

We also like traveling near and far. From playing in Pacific Heights Park in San Francisco - to finding shells on the beaches of Cape Cod - to snow-skiing in Big Bear, we enjoy life!

We have been blessed with years of financial success through hard work and good fortune, and have been lucky enough to make significant real estate investments which will provide security for the rest of our lives. We have the luxury to work from home so that we may both be fully present for your child. We feel extremely fortunate to be able to slow down from a work standpoint and to have the freedom to share our love and abundant life with your child.

Cynthia

Cynthia is a prominent attorney who is very active in community activities. She loves hiking, riding horses, photography, sketching, singing, playing piano & guitar, and has a wide silly streak.

Jill

Jill is a private investigator with a law degree who frequently serves on the boards of community non-profit organizations. Jill also has a great sense of humor, and loves exploring new places, museums, antiques and nature.

Jill’s parents have been married for 46 years, and Cynthia’s parents celebrated 50 years together last summer in a series of parties co-hosted by Jill, Cynthia and her beloved brothers and families.

We have a strong faith, and believe that what is meant to be will be. The foundation of our family is built upon that faith and our solid community of family and friends. While we long to expand our circle with your dear child, our deepest wish is that your child finds happiness.

Whatever you decide, we wish you peace & security in knowing you have made the perfectly right decision for your child. Walk on into your future carrying the knowledge of yourself as a strong and courageous person.
