Tracy and Greg

We cannot begin to imagine what you are feeling right now.  We hope that as you read about our lives you will feel relieved that you have found the right couple to adopt your child.  We are so grateful that you have chosen adoption and given us the hope of starting our family.

Six years ago, we met through a mutual friend who thought we’d be great together.  She was right!  We have now been married for 4 years and are deeply in love.  We enjoy each other’s company and have a great time together.  We share an active lifestyle and enjoy a variety of outdoor activities.  As you can see by our pictures, we enjoy mountain biking, camping, hiking, kayaking, and other water sports.  Our lives are filled with laughter and we are so grateful to have found one another, and are ready to share our love with a child.

We both have Bachelor degrees and are financially stable.  Greg is an executive at a manufacturing company; his current position is the Director of sales and marketing.  Tracy works as a state inspector with oversight of group homes for children with disabilities.  Her job is to inspect the group homes and make sure the children are getting the highest quality of care and all of the children’s health and safety needs are met.  Tracy has always worked with children with disabilities and loves her job.  She finds her career very rewarding but feels an even more important job is to be a stay at home mom.  Tracy plans to be a full time mom once a child joins our family.

We both do a lot of volunteer work in our community.  Our most rewarding experience is the Big Brother Big Sister program.  Tracy met her “little sister”, Jessica, when she was 6 years old.  During the past 9 years Tracy has been consistently involved in Jessica’s life, and she has grown into a wonderful young lady.  When Greg and Tracy met, Greg became an excellent male role model for Jessica and her siblings.  Over the years, we have enjoyed attending Jessica’s school functions and having fun with her on the weekends.  Jessica is now 15 and she is a big part of our family.

We live in a wonderful home in the suburbs just outside the Raleigh/Durham area of North Carolina.  Our area is nationally recognized as one of the best places in the nation to raise a family.  Our neighborhood is full of young children and we have a large back yard that is calling for a swing set.

We spend most of our weekends in the spring and summer at a nearby lake boating, swimming, water-skiing, tubing and relaxing.  Last year we decided to buy a second home and purchased a lake house.  Greg has been boating and water-skiing since he was a child.  After drinking a lot of lake water last summer, Tracy learned to water-ski too.  We are looking forward to our child spending their summers at the lake house with friends and family.

Tracy grew up in New York on Long Island and Greg is from rural North Carolina. Although we come from very different backgrounds, we share common family values. We’re committed to providing our child with unconditional love and a stable, nurturing home.  Both of us have parents that have been married for over 40 years.  Throughout our childhood and adult lives, our parents have set a wonderful example of what a good parent should be.  We have a very close family that enjoys getting together often for cookouts and celebrations.  We currently have two nieces, Dierdre is 6 and Caroline is 18 months.  Many of our friends have young children and are very excited for us to join them in parenthood.  The grandparents-to-be are all retired and are anxiously awaiting their new grandchild.

Thank you so much for reading our letter.  We hope the small glimpse into our world and lives will help make your decision easier.
