Dear Birth Mother,

We want you to know how much we appreciate you taking the time to consider us as adoptive parents for your child. What you are doing takes an extraordinary amount of courage and sacrifice for your child. Our heart felt gratitude and admiration go out to you for this selfless act of kindness. Adoption has been the biggest blessing for us! Over two years ago, we welcomed our beautiful daughter, Abigail, into our family through adoption. We love her more than we could have ever imagined! Through that experience we have developed a great love and respect for birth parents. We can see the strength and selflessness that birth parents show by making this difficult decision. We feel that our family is not yet complete. We are praying and hoping for the chance to share our love with another child. We hope as you learn more about our family, you will feel peace in making your decision.

How We Met-
We met while Kirk was going to BYU and we both worked at Sam’s Club. For Kirk, it was love at first sight. Jody thought Kirk was a goody-good missionary but decided to go on a “pity” date with Kirk. After the first date, Jody realized that it was meant to be. Dating was a lot of fun. Kirk was such a gentleman and we had so much fun! We went to plays, musicals, miniature golfing, bowling, sharing berry/banana shakes, picnics in the mountains, hiking and sledding. We dated for 5 months and were engaged for 9 months. During that time we became best friends and still are!

Kirk’s Love for Jody-
After 11 years, Jody still brings a smile to my face! Her best qualities are her spirituality, that she’s thoughtful of others, caring, creative and devoted to our family. She is a wonderful wife and mother. Jody loves being a homemaker. She likes to have a clean house and to make home cooked meals. Jody is very social and loves to be around people. She loves to do service for others. She feels so blessed to be home with our daughter, Abigail. She delights in being a mother and actively participates in all the childhood activities. Each day brings new adventures filled with laughter and smiles. Jody is excited to welcome another child into our home.

Jody’s Love for Kirk-
Kirk’s kind nature and positive attitude are a special part of his personality that draws people to him. He is very loving, spiritual, patient, gentle, giving and his number one priority is his marriage and family. Kirk is an amazing husband and father! He is a hard worker and a good provider. Kirk comes home from work in the early afternoon which gives him a lot of quality time with our family! He walks in the door with a smile, kisses and hugs for Abigail and me. Kirk loves our family and is excited for another child to join in his rugged adventures.

Our favorite time of day is the hour and a half before Abigail’s bedtime when Abigail has a bath then we cuddle together, talk, laugh, dance, read books (our favorite books include “Goodnight Moon”, “Chicka Chicka Boom Boom”, and any of the Pigeon books), pray and read the scriptures. We finish the night with Kirk singing his bedtime song to Abigail, and then we tuck her in bed and say goodnight.

Our Families-
Our families are scattered throughout Utah, and we try and see each other often. We love to get together to eat, play games, and just talk. We love enjoying holidays together. We also love to go on family vacations together. Some of our favorite adventures include taking in breathtaking Niagara Falls, watching Old Faithful in Yellowstone, going to an amazing light show (at night) off the Canyon walls in Moab, riding the Silverton Train, and our most recent, experiencing the most magical place of all: Disneyland!
Our families adore Abigail and are very excited for us to adopt again! They are praying and hoping for a child to enter our family soon. Should you choose to place with our family, your child will be adored, loved and spoiled by their grandparents, aunts and uncles, and cousins!
