Aaron and Doug

Dear Birthmother,

You have our great appreciation for taking the time to consider us to love, cherish and raise the child you are bringing into the world. This letter is our way of saying “Here we are” with open hearts, waiting for the one who will turn us into the most precious thing we can imagine: a family.

Us
We are Aaron and Doug. From the moment we met 12 years ago we knew there was something extraordinary about our connection. Although the timing wasn’t right in the beginning, the trueness of our connection proved itself when we fell in love 4 years ago. We have been together ever since, and are grateful for having each other in our lives.

Both of us hold deep personal objectives for ourselves that we work hard to live up to, doing our best to lead lives of loving, integrity, and respect. We belong to a non-denominational church that is based on unconditional loving and acceptance. We often spend time with other families in our church community, doing volunteer work or just having fun.

What's Fun For Us
We enjoy being in nature, often going on hikes together or spending time at the beach. Doug also loves biking and taking walks in the hills above our home while Aaron enjoys cooking and being creative with computers, technology and visual arts. We are fortunate to be able to travel frequently, both in the U.S. as well as to several other countries such as Greece, England, Switzerland, and Spain. We very much look forward to sharing these enriching travel experiences with a child.

Why We Want to Be Parents
When we met, one of our very first conversations was about both of our desires to have children. Now we recognize that raising a child together is the natural next step in our relationship—a way to deepen our loving for each other by sharing this loving with a child.

For us, being parents would be incredibly fulfilling, devoting our lives to being the best daddies we can be. We are ready to be entrusted with this responsibility of parenting, in both the joys and the challenges, sharing in these special moments with a child as we guide them from childhood well into adulthood.

As parents, we intend to provide a stable, loving and nurturing family environment for a child. Wanting to provide the best possible foundation, we both have worked earnestly at creating a relationship of commitment, open communication, mutual loving and respect. We have so much love to offer and we would be honored to share our hearts, home and life with a child.

Our Home
We own a beautiful home in a lovely, safe, family neighborhood nestled in the hills of Southern California. It is located within walking distance of some of the best schools in the area. We share our home with two very loving and affectionate cats, Zimba & Sky.

Our Careers
For over 13 years, Aaron has been running a successful home based computer graphics business, specializing in major corporate meetings and events. After 5 years in real estate, Doug was able to transition into the career of his heart, a home based life coaching practice. We are both blessed with a flexible work schedule that will allow us to be extensively involved in the raising of a child on a day-to-day basis.

Family: Doug’s Family
I am the second oldest of four children. Aaron and I are very close with my family. We are thrilled to be able to spend time with my sister and brother-in-law, and our 5-year-old nephew, Timmy, and three-year-old niece, Kayla. We often have extended visits with them here at our home and at their new home in Seattle. We totally enjoy being their uncles, and are looking forward to the arrival of their third child who is on the way.

My father, aunt, uncle, and paternal grandparents live here in Southern California as well. They have been a prominent loving presence in the lives of all their grandchildren, nieces and nephews. My mother lives in Northern California, and visits us several times a year. Mom absolutely adores her grandchildren and we love having Grandma Lori down for visits.

Family: Aaron’s Family
I am the second of two children. My sister and brother-in-law live back east in Maryland. They have a nine-year-old daughter, Brienna, and a five-year-old son, Liam. We have great fun with them and love being a part of their lives. They are very much in our hearts and thoughts.

My mother, Claire, lives in Colorado. She has been an inspiration and joy for us and we are glad to have her wisdom and presence in our lives. Although my stepfather is no longer with us, he always blessed us with his presence and loving heart. My father, Robert, also lives in Colorado. He is a retired college administrator, enjoys creating in his wood-shop, and loves being a grandfather.

From Our Hearts to Yours
We hope this brief glimpse into our lives has communicated to you just why a family is so important to us and why we would love to be parents. We appreciate the opportunity to share ourselves with you and, regardless of who you choose, we wish you the very best.
