Dear Birthmother,

We feel so privileged that you are choosing to read this letter. Thank you so much for taking the time to consider us during this important time!

Our names are Jenifer and Nancy.  We live and work in one of the most fun, beautiful, sunny and exciting places in the country—Southern California.  We love the home and life we have created together.  Most importantly, we want to let you know that we have spent 14 years together with the ultimate goal of creating a secure, loving home for children. In the past, we both tried to have children and were sadly unsuccessful.  However, adopting one or more children has always been a dream of ours and we want you to know that we are confident and ready to provide a stable, loving, home full of creativity, music and the flexibility to nurture whatever talents kids may dream about.

We work in the entertainment business and are blessed with working in a creative environment that has given us financial stability, great friends, and the flexibility to choose when and how we work.  Jen is really looking forward to being a “stay at home” mom while she works from her home office.  We live in a family neighborhood with lots of kids great schools and parks just walking distances away.

Southern California has the mountains with snow, the beach, the desert, and of course—it has Disneyland!  We are a short drive away from all these places and there is always something to do and see at any given time.  Whether we go to Europe, the beach, camping or we just decide to hang out by the pool, we both love to travel and we look forward to sharing long summer vacations to new and adventurous places with kids.  We also love sports and we have tennis courts and a golf course in the neighborhood where we play on a regular basis. We are strong and healthy.

Along with playing sports, we want to encourage learning, and to nurture whatever dreams our kids may have. It is our goal to provide a secure environment for this.  Music and live performances are a big part of our lives.  Jen loves to play the piano, violin and is learning to play the cello and Nancy doesn’t go anywhere without her IPOD!  Nancy also enjoys practicing photography. Our favorite activities however, are always centered on the holidays!  Whether it’s taking our nieces and nephews to the pumpkin patch, cooking a Turkey for Thanksgiving dinner, or going to the mountains and cutting down our own Christmas tree—we love to entertain, and get together with family and friends on all of the major holidays.

Along with our cats, Emma and Sam, our lives are also blessed with a loving, extended family.  We have 3 nieces, and 3 nephews. We both look forward to the times that we get to babysit or take the kids to the zoo.  Jen’s mom is the ultimate Grandma who loves to bake snickerdoodle cookies, host sleepovers, and she is always there at ballet classes and soccer games.  Both our brothers are strong, successful and important influences in our lives.  Our church community is also a big part of our lives.  Nancy has been active in our parish’s youth group and has gone on to mentor many teenagers.  Jen assists at Sunday school with the younger kids ages 3 – 5.


We always try to support and encourage the kids around us to see their potential and to not be afraid to go for what they want. Education is important to us for this reason. We look forward to providing for and encouraging our kids to enjoy learning.  Now that you know a little bit about us, we look forward to knowing more about you.  We know that you may be looking at many options and letters, and we totally respect your process.  All we can tell you is that we love life and we know that we can provide a loving home. We are ready to be parents who will teach, protect, love, encourage, and cherish.
