Susan & Brad

Dear Birthmother,

Thank you for considering our family as a home for your baby.  We understand that the choice you’re making entails a great degree of uncertainty and we both wish you the very best as you search for the right family to raise your child. May God provide you with the support and courage needed to make this important decision with your newborn child.

About Us:
Our names are Brad and Susan and we reside in Iowa. We met in San Francisco in 1991 while we were both working at the San Francisco Airport and we have been happily married for just over ten years. Living within our household are Kiana, our four year old daughter (who is the ultimate pride and joy in our lives) and Angel, our protective Cocker Spaniel.  We want nothing more than to continue our family by welcoming another child into our lives so we can fulfill our dream of raising a family with two children.

About Brad:
Brad currently works with investments and just completed his MBA degree.  He was born in Missouri and raised in Iowa before relocating to California, immediately following college. After his father passed away, he returned to Iowa to be closer to his mother. Brad’s family includes his brother, who lives in Colorado and is expecting his first child, and his sister who resides in California with three children who range in age from 10 to 14. Brad enjoys exercising and attending sporting events. When Brad is not with family he can be found watching movies and studying on the computer.

About Susan:
Susan works as a nurse in the cardiology / stroke department for a local hospital. She is currently attending school to obtain her BSN. Susan was raised in the Philippines and is the youngest of nine children.  At the age of 16, she moved from the Philippines to California to join other members of her family who had already relocated to San Francisco. Coming from a large family her dream was always to raise a big family. She has many nieces and nephews and we love to get together often. Susan enjoys running and spending time with family. She also enjoys cooking, reading, and decorating the house.

About Kiana:
Kiana was born via in-vitro fertilization and is half Caucasian and half Filipina. Kiana is a very happy and well-behaved, little girl who loves to sing, dance, and read books at the library. She attends pre-school, church, and concert-choir in addition to being involved with swimming and dancing. Kiana is very luck to have her Grandma (Brad’s mother) as her loving babysitter and playmate whenever needed. Kiana can’t wait to be a big sister to a little brother or sister. She says she wants to decorate the baby’s room like “Cinderella” even if he happens to be a boy.  She also mentions that the baby can sleep in her bedroom and share her clothes and bathroom.

Our Home:
We own a beautiful home in a safe neighborhood near many parks and schools. Our home is surrounded by families with children of all ages. We have established some incredible friendships within our neighborhood and, on many weekends, you will find parents and children gathering around the portable fireplace roasting marshmallows in the driveway. Holidays with friends and family are always joyous as we share many laughs and enjoy time with the children gathering on the deck in the backyard.

Family Time:
On weekends we enjoy spending time with Kiana by going to the park, swimming at the local pool, cooking on the grill, and traveling on the weekends so that we can visit some of the many historical sites around Iowa.  We also enjoy going to church with Grandma and Great-Grandma on Sundays, followed by eating lunch at one of our favorite local restaurants.

In Closing:
We wish you the best while finding the family you’re searching for.  We hope we can fulfill your dream while adding the missing ingredient to our family. Please let us know how we can make your process more efficient.
