Dear Birth Mother,
We, Mark and Beth, would like to thank you for considering us as adoptive parents for your child. You are creating a lifetime of joy for the parents that you choose for your child. We realize that your decision for choosing parents is difficult, but we would be thrilled if you decided that we were the right parents for your baby. We promise to give your precious child lots of love, a good education, and the opportunity to grow up in a safe and financially secure environment.

A Little About Us
We met at work, as we both work at the same company, but in different departments. We have known each other for over 12 years, but didn’t date until Halloween night of 1999. In the fall of ’99 we both joined our company’s bowling team and found that we had many common interests. A mutual friend and member of the same bowling team played matchmaker and arranged our first date. We dated for a year before becoming engaged during a trip to Key West, Florida. A year later in October of 2001 we were married in Beth’s church. Both of us feel very blessed to have found each other at this point in our lives.
We currently live in a small town in South Carolina, about a mile from where Mark grew up. Our ranch style home is about a quarter of a mile off the main road, on a 20 acre heavily wooded lot. Mark designed and constructed our 3 bedroom, 2 bath home in SC, while we lived in Beth’s home immediately after returning from our honeymoon. We have lots of room for a child to play inside and outside of our home. We have a fire department trained to handle medical emergencies, less than a mile from our house. We are only about a 30 minute drive from one of the best hospitals in the state. The nearest schools are about five miles from our home. We are about eight miles from the nearest interstate, which gives us access to several large neighboring cities. The larger cities offer many amenities and activities, such as international airports, theme parks, professional sporting events, and about any other type of activity you can imagine.

We enjoy many activities together, but our favorite is traveling. Since we’ve been together, we’ve traveled to the Florida Keys, Niagara Falls, the New England states, Las Vegas, most of California, the Grand Canyon, Yosemite National Park, the Canadian Rockies, Seattle, and Hawaii. Hawaii is our favorite destination so far, as we are planning our third trip for the end of this year. We also have taken several day and weekend trips to nearby mountains and the coasts of both North & South Carolina. We hope the child we adopt will enjoy traveling as much as we do. We also like to go hiking, horseback riding, visit zoos, spend time with friends, and our three dogs. We enjoy seeing the deer and wild turkeys that live in our woods.

Our Families
Mark’s parents live on a 45 acre farm about 2.5 miles from our house. Mark’s father no longer raises cows, but still grows lots of fresh vegetables in a huge garden. Both of Mark’s parents are retired. His father was a supervisor for over 30 years at the local power company and his mother was a stay at home mom, who babysat for many of the area children and relatives. Our child will be their first grandchild to spoil and love. Mark has two brothers, one older and one younger.
Beth’s mom lives in northwest Ohio. Her father passed away in the early 1990’s. Her younger sister passed away in 1971 with a rare form of childhood cancer. Beth’s mom is very close to her four sisters that live just a few miles from her house. We speak to Beth’s mom several times each week and usually visit her in Ohio a couple of times every year. We also arrange for her to come down two or three times a year to visit with us. We’ve been trying to convince her to move down here closer to us, so we can spend more time with her. Her first grandchild might do the trick.
This will be the first grandchild for both of our parents and they are all so excited! They cannot wait to spoil and love a grandchild.
A Little More About Mark
Mark is 37 years old, and he grew up in South Carolina, about one mile from where we currently live. All of his immediate family and some of his extended family live nearby. He works in the computer department for a global chemical manufacturing company. He graduated high school in 1998 and graduated from Clemson University in 1992, with a degree in Computer Engineering. He enjoys traveling, playing golf, swimming, shooting pool, attending college/professional sporting events (especially college), whitewater rafting, horse back riding, and just spending time with friends.
Mark has a wonderful sense of humor and loves to make up funny songs that he sings to Beth. He is very bright and personable. Mark is a wonderful, loving husband that loves to play with children.
A Little More About Beth
Beth is 45 years old, and she grew up in northwest Ohio, where her mom and extended family currently reside. She attended 8 years of Catholic grade school and graduated in 1980 from a Catholic high school for all girls. She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Toledo in 1985. She works in the Finance department for the same chemical manufacturing company as Mark. She enjoys traveling, shopping, reading, watching the Food Network, collecting recipes, horseback riding, hiking, bowling and doing crossword puzzles.
Beth is a very hard working, organized, honest, and caring person. She is a big animal lover and loves to play with our three dogs. She is dedicated to her mom and her extended family, as she always takes time to visit many of her relatives when we travel to Ohio. Overall, she is a great friend and a wonderful wife.
A Little About our Current Family (Our Dogs)
We currently have three dogs (Ginger, Bubbie, and Peanut). Ginger was a stray dog that showed up at Mark’s house a month before we were married. She is a German Shepherd/Collie mix. About a year later we adopted Bubbie from Mark’s parents’ dog. Bubbie is a Jack Russell terrier mix and very energetic. Peanut was a Christmas gift from Mark to Beth in 2005. Peanut is a registered Yorkshire terrier that lives indoors with us. Bubbie and Ginger live in a very large fenced area (about 600 square feet) at the edge of our woods. Over half of their living area is covered and they each have a dog house. Of course, when the weather is bad or the temperature drops to below freezing during the winter, we bring them into our basement and they have their own room complete with separate dog beds. We typically take all of our dogs for a walk in the woods during most weekends.
What We Have to Offer Your Child
We feel that we have a lot of good qualities and opportunities to offer your child. We have a very strong marriage, which is the bond for a strong, loving family. We are financially secure and we both have stable jobs with a Fortune 500 company. Our employer allows a flexible work schedule that will allow us to attend special events throughout our child’s life. Mark has lots of family members (his parents and two aunts) within a couple of miles from our house. Several aunts and his mom have lots of experience babysitting and working for church daycares. This will be an ideal situation for our childcare needs. We would be within walking distance of our child while we are working. We have a very large yard and lots of spare room in our home, for areas to play. We would encourage our child to strive to do well in school and support whatever they choose as a career.
Closing
We hope you have enjoyed getting to know us and we hope that you will consider us to be your adoptive parents. We feel we have a lot to offer your child and we think your child has a lot to offer us. We promise to give him/her lots of love and encouragement. No one else could give us a gift, as great as you. Thank you again for your consideration and we wish you a healthy pregnancy and birth.
