Family
We both are very close to our loving and supportive families. Luc’s parents have been married for 49 years live about a half hour from us. They are so excited to have more grandchildren-they live for this! They emigrated from France in 1964 and although Luc was born in France-they all became US citizens many years ago. The wonderful part is that we have a huge extended family in France (the south-Provence) who we visit regularly. Luc’s parents teach French to the two grand children from Luc’s brother, Chris. Chris and Ann live in Napa-not far from us and we see all of them regularly on all holidays and birthdays. These are extremely festive times-the French really know how to celebrate with great fun, and lots family and friends.

Marin’s family-father and sister Sue-who is married for 30 years and has three children-all live in Reno, about four hours from us. We are very close and visit often. My father is extremely bright (a Mensa) and loving grandfather who enjoys spending time with children. My sister is so excited for me to have children; see considers this the best part of her life and looks forward to teaching me all the tricks. Marin’s parents are divorced and her mother lives in Portland, Oregon where she runs a spa. Her sister (Marin’s aunt) and her husband and four children all live there, she visit her mother quite often and this huge section of the family enjoy many happy times together.

About Marin:
Marin is an extremely nurturing person. She has a huge garden that she tends regularly and loves taking care of our pets. She has fun cooking and staying home and reading books. Marin has a keen sense of style-from her clothes to her home everything is impeccable. Anyone who enters her home says-this is the coziest place on earth. It is no secret that she has been very successful in business and is well respected in the publishing and travel industries. The staff love her-she has had many of the same employees for over 10 years. Her clients always ask for her because they know how much integrity she has and that she provides the very best service. People always comment on what a great mother she would be-so fun and caring! You will not meet a more loving person with such attention to detail-plus she is a great role model for children-demonstrating how to be extremely successful and have a balanced life. We have spent the last 10 years building a full life and business and now have the ability to take time away and be with our child.

About Luc:
Luc has the biggest heart in the world-so warm and full of life. He is the life of any party-and quite frankly-he is down right goofy. Luc goes to the toy store every Christmas and buys gifts for his brothers children and our friends child and then wraps them only to delight when they are opened usually containing a Lego set that requires much assembly-and Luc will be through the whole evening and morning on his hands and knees setting everything up-to the last piece! I always think-he needs a child of his own, and what a lucky child it will be-to have a dad that takes so much care and interest!
Luc loves to ride his bike; and he is a champion with the barbeque. He is an extremely bright man who is very well read-and a great conversationalist. He loves working in our yard-and since we have a half acre-this can take a lot of his time. He has a wonderful combination of sensitivity and smarts-a true total package.

Our hobbies:
We both have a lot of energy and can not wait to share this with a child. We love to go for walks; we live close to the beach and many great parks. We ride our bikes and do something healthy and active every day. We have been avid skiers over the years. One of our top interests has been travel. We have been to Egypt, Morocco, Thailand and Europe-especially France. We are curious and love adventure. We go to Hawaii, Lake Tahoe, Sun Valley and Oregon every year-perfect for a child. We also know that having a child will keep us home-and we welcome this. We feel we have lived a full life and had many great experiences that we can share with a child and we are equally eager to stay at our fabulous home and care for our little one. We love to entertain and have many friends with children-we are excited to have birthday parties and decorate for all the holidays.

Community and Friends:
We live in the most wonderful community in the world-Mill Valley. It was voted one of the best places to raise a family last year. We live at the end of a street, with lots of children around us. We have a huge yard with lots of trees for play, and a tree-lined street with no traffic. We have a nature hike right outside our door, where owl chirp and squirrels play-we see deer daily! We are surrounded by the countries best schools-from elementary to high school, you can not beat our educational system. We supported our community center at the bottom of our hill and donated money to have it built. It has a great Olympic size pool with a slide, a soccer field, gymnastics and an arts and crafts room plus many other activities. There is no better place to be a kid, we really have it all!

Our home:
There is no place more important to us than our home! We have spent countless hours decorating and painting and generally fixing it up-it is so sunny, playful and colorful. When people come in they always say-there are so many places to get comfortable, we believe this is a true refection of who we are as a couple-warm, bright and stylish. We already have so many stuffed animals and fun games just waiting for a child to come and play with. We are healthy and aware of how to eat right-we always have lots of fresh fruit and vegetables in our house. We love to spend time in our home-preparing meals, reading, sitting in the sun on our decks, playing with our pets, admiring our garden, all we need to make it complete is a baby!

Our Business:
We have a successful travel magazine and website business where we employee 13 people. We have fun educating people every month about where they should go for their next meeting or convention in the Western Us, Canada and Mexico. We work with hotels and corporations and have become a source that people count on for good information. Our staff is very supportive of us adopting, and because we own the business this allows us the luxury of free time and flexibility.  We also are in a place to be able to afford a child and not have any financial worries.
