DEAR BIRTHMOTHER...

We would like to thank you for taking the time to learn more about the life we can provide for the child you carry.  We thank you for your strength during a difficult and emotional time.  Without your generosity and foresight, couples like us would never know the gift of family.  There is no question that you as the birthmother will always be honored, respected, and spoken of joyfully in our home.  You are very important to us and we appreciate you taking the time to read this letter and look at our photos.  We hope it will give you a glimpse into our life and the love, opportunities and fun we will provide for a child.

ABOUT US…

Our names are Kirk and Stephanie and we are an energetic couple ready for a baby to join our family.  We have been together for eight years and have been happily married since 2003.  Our relationship is incredibly strong and grounded in our deep friendship and respect for each other.  We met at work a few years ago and became great friends.  We lived just blocks from each other and often spent our weeknights going to the gym and running together.  Eventually our close friendship blossomed into love and we knew, on our first “official” date, that we would marry each other one day. 

We live in a close knit beach community in Southern California.  Our home is one block from the ocean and we often spend evenings watching the sunset.  We both love the outdoors, staying in shape and spending time with our family and friends.  Many of our close friends have babies and small children and we can’t wait to introduce our little addition to all of them.  We often host barbecues at our home and we love the mad house it turns into with little kids running everywhere!  Our city has nationally recognized schools and great summer surf camps and dance programs.  Our city also hosts an annual Super Bowl 10K Run, 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular and Downtown Halloween Carnival.  We can’t wait to take our little one to the beach, parks and all of these events so we can see the world through a child’s eyes.  

ABOUT KIRK…

Kirk runs his own home theatre and in-home technology company.  His office and theatre showroom are located just 1 mile from our home which gives him the luxury of being home for dinner nightly and the flexibility to be come during the day if needed.  Kirk is a positive, caring and intelligent person.  He always has a smile on his face and his positive energy is one of the reasons for his great success.  Kirk is alwayson the go!  He enjoys surfing, swimming, biking, waterskiing and competing in triathlons.  He loves to surf on Saturday mornings with “the boys” and come home for blueberry pancakes.  He was born and raised in a farming town in California with his parents and brother.  We often visit our relatives and the family farm.  He earned his undergraduate degree from Fresno State University and his Entrepreneurial Business Certificate from UCLA.

ABOUT STEPHANIE…

Stephanie has been a pharmaceutical sales representative for the past 7 years.  She loves meeting with people and helping physicians build their business.  She has been very successful.  One thing she likes about her job is the flexibility it allows which will be so helpful when she is a mother.  Stephanie is someone you can count on to always be there, as a daughter, friend, sister, aunt and wife.  She is very affectionate and makes others feel good by being a good listener.  Stephanie is goal-oriented and loves to exercise.  Her favorite time of day is the morning when she is running on the beach as the sun rises.  She also enjoys slowing down a bit and going for long walks with friends on the weekend.  Stephanie was born and raised in Southern California with her parents and two sisters whom we see often.  Stephanie graduated from Santa Clara University with a degree in Political Science.  She is a big sports fan and loves to go to games to cheer on her teams!

OUR VALUES AND TIME TOGETHER…

We try to live by the “Golden Rule” of doing unto others as we would have done to ourselves.  We believe in good manners, respect for self and others, compassion towards life and trying to leave the world a better place than we found it.  Our friends characterize us as caring and supportive and have a lot of respect for the relationship we have developed with each other.  We are the Godparents to two of our friends’ sons and our niece.  We are honored to play such an important role in the children's lives and we try to spend extra special time with each of them.

We love to travel!  We own a timeshare which allows us to travel and experience new places.  We bought the timeshare with a family in mind, knowing that traveling with little ones will be easier if we have a kitchen and laundry available.  We enjoy cooking together and like to host “Sunday Dinner” with our friends and their families.  We love to bike ride on the weekends to our favorite breakfast place.  We also love to play beach football and go to Disneyland or the Aquarium with our nephews and niece.

 OUR EDUCATION PLANS…

Education and opportunities are important to us.  Right now it is probably hard to imagine your baby in preschool, much less college.  However, it may help to know that your child will get everything he or she needs educationally.  Your child will be able to attend any college that meets his or her interests and needs.

Our whole family is excited about our plans to adopt, having seen us go through the difficulty of fertility treatments.  They know how much we have wanted to add a child to our family for years now and are all incredibly supportive of our decision.

We want to thank you again for taking the time to read our story.  We hope this gives you a sense of who we are, what we do and how we live.  We can only imagine the thoughts that keep you up at night as you consider your decision for your child.  We promise to provide a loving home, with lots of support from family and friends, to ensure your child is healthy, happy, safe and well loved.  There is no greater gift we could ask from the world than to bring a baby into our home.  Our hearts and arms are open and we are more than ready!
