Dear Birth Mother,
Thank you for your courage in considering what is best for you and your baby. We respect and admire the steps you have taken by learning more about adoption. We know this is a difficult time in your life, and we hope that by telling you something about ourselves and our commitment to raising a child, you will know that he or she will be in a loving home.

About Us
We are Shea and Sylvain. We met eight years ago playing volleyball on the beach in California, and have been together since. Sylvain is French and Shea is American. We live in sunny California in a quiet neighborhood that is close to schools, parks, museums, and of course, beaches. Our home is a cozy place filled with a lot of love.

We are an active family that enjoys being outdoors. Both of us like to Rollerblade, ski, sail and travel. On a daily basis, we enjoy playing with our dog, Buddy. He’s silly and makes us laugh. Sylvain also enjoys playing music on his keyboard and riding his bike, while Shea prefers horseback riding and baking.

Shea has a degree in Business and is a successful real estate agent. Prior to real estate, she spent many years as an accountant, but wanted a job that offered her more time to spend with family. With her own real estate business, she is able to work from home much of the time and keep flexible hours. Shea grew up in Maryland in a large very affectionate family that she talks to on a regular basis. They can’t wait for us to become adoptive parents! Shea has tons of energy and is always up for an adventure. She likes to share a smile wherever she goes and makes friends easily.  

Sylvain has a Masters Degree in Engineering and works on cutting edge technology for the movie industry. He loves all sorts of technology – He’s definitely the “techie” of the household. He will share his passion and talents for computers, puzzles and problem solving with our child. Sylvain is very loving, generous, and considerate of others feelings. He is always in a good mood and never complains.

Our Commitment to Parenting
We are committed to providing our child, with a safe, loving environment, filled with learning and discovery. Our child will be taught both English and French, and be integrated into both cultures. We will encourage our child's creativity and curiosity and teach them about the incredible diversity in our world. We will raise them to respect the environment around us, and will teach them the values of honesty, integrity and compassion. We will love and nurture them.
