Tracy and Daniel

Dear Birth Mother,
We realize this is a difficult decision, one made with love, courage and strength. While this is just a small glimpse of our life, we hope you can tell that we have a lot of love to give and we would treasure the opportunity to be the future loving parents for your child.

Our names are Daniel and Tracy and along with our daughter Sophia we are eagerly looking to expand our family. We promise to provide a home filled with peace, love and laughter.  We promise to give your child all the opportunities that any child should have and we look forward to sharing our adventures, love for each other, our families and life with our new baby.

About Us
We met at work almost twelve years ago. Daniel was producing a television series that was really popular and Tracy was hired to produce a version for children. We had an immediate connection and giddy butterfly feelings filled our stomachs, but Tracy had one rule, “never date anybody at work.”  That rule lasted all of three weeks.  We soon found we had so much in common: a love of the outdoors, food, friends and all kinds of music.

Surrounded by our closest friends and family, we were married three years later on the beach in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Married for eight wonderful years we continue to nurture our relationship and encourage each other to grow into better people constantly.  We care deeply for each other and laugh daily.
Starting a family was not easy for us, but with the help of fertility doctors we were able to conceive our daughter Sophia, who is a happy little girl going on 3 years old.  When it became clear that we couldn't conceive a second child, adoption was an easy choice for us.

Before becoming parents, we traveled extensively. We marveled together while on safari in Africa, admired the history of the streets of London and Rome, explored Mayan ruins in the jungles of Belize, trekked up the Great Wall of China, and soaked up the sun on the beaches of Hawaii.

We still love to travel, but will wait to introduce big adventures to our children until they are old enough to appreciate them. Until then, we have purchased a piece of lake front property in northern Minnesota, where we plan to build a summer home next to Daniel's family cabin where Daniel spent his childhood summers like his father did when he was a child. Activities include building sandcastles with grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins, fishing, waterskiing, swimming and catching frogs! The cabin is a family tradition your child will love and look forward too.

Tracy about Daniel
Daniel was raised in Minnesota and has two brothers and a sister. He is the youngest of four children and was raised by parents who gave him the confidence to do what ever he wanted, and encouraged him to follow his dreams. After graduating from the University of Minnesota, he decided to ditch the freezing winters of the Midwest and pursue his future in the warmth of Southern California.

Daniel is a successful television producer with a passion for making people's dreams come true. His motto in his work is “if we're not having fun, why are we all here?”  He has a great balance in life and a strong can do attitude. He is grounded, logical and caring.   People want to be around Daniel. He's the life of every party because he makes people laugh and he has an easy-going style that makes anybody comfortable.

Daniel is a huge sports fan! Being from Minnesota, he loves the Vikings and the Twins. I can always tell when there is an exciting game on because I can hear Daniel cheering for his teams from any room in the house. He’s also active in many sports and can't wait to teach your child to throw and catch so they can experience the fun of team sports.

Daniel loves the outdoors; camping, hiking, climbing and skiing are passions that he devotes his spare time to. He loves to cook and the BBQ is his specialty, which I encourage as much as possible.

Daniel is the neatness to my clutter. He is very organized and likes to keep the house clean. He is a huge music fan, having been a radio and club DJ in college; he has a giant collection of music of all kinds. In our house the music is always on or Daniel's singing.

Becoming a dad opened up a new world of fascination and wonder for Daniel. He is very hands-on, whether changing diapers, dancing and singing with her, or just exploring the wonders of the backyard. I fall in love with Daniel more and more watching him be such a wonderful, loving father.

Daniel about Tracy
When I met Tracy, my life changed forever. I was initially drawn to her beautiful eyes but quickly realized a whole lot more. I had met my soulmate. My partner in life and my world improved exponentially. Tracy is an amazing person, full of love, joy and the occasional clumsiness that brings every person in a room to their knees with laughter.

Tracy is a very social person and when we started dating, I had to run the gauntlet of all of her girlfriends for approval. Needless to say it was a daunting process but the love her friends hold for her required this “interview process”. Thankfully, I survived it and I now understand how strong her bonds with people are. Her friends have become some of my biggest supporters and enriched my life 100%!

Tracy was raised all over the U.S. spending parts of her life in Greenwich, Connecticut, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, then Vail, Colorado before finally landing in Los Angeles, California. After attending USC, Tracy embarked on a successful career as a television producer. She is known in the business as the mentor to all and has shown her nurturing side on countless occasions helping young people in the industry discover that they are capable of more than they ever imagined. She's a fantastic producer and I'm lucky to have her to bounce ideas off. She makes me better at my job just by being in my life.

All of Tracy's moving around certainly served her good as she fits into any group situation. Upon her first visit to my cabin in Minnesota she was the smash hit of the summer. Everyone welcomed her engaging personality, sense of humor and willingness to have a good time with open arms as she found her place in my family in no time.

Tracy loves to garden in our yard, tending to a ton of rose bushes and planting a few vegetables each spring for summertime salads. Like me she loves to hike and camp and we do as much as possible outdoors in our spare time. Tracy enjoys playing all kinds of games, from cards, to Scrabble to tennis. (She also likes to win)

As a Mommy, Tracy is in her element. Sophia follows her everywhere and Tracy is always willing to read a book, have a tea party or just stop everything and give a bear hug and kisses. Tracy is so full of love and patience that she will have plenty to share with our new child. She is intelligent, supportive, compassionate and selfless. Sophia and I are so lucky to share our lives with such an incredible person who stimulates us, cares for us and pushes us to be the best we can be.

About Sophia
Sophia is almost three years old. She talks about having a baby brother or baby sister all the time. She loves to diaper her stuffed animals and enjoys giving them make-believe bottles. Sophia enjoys dancing around the house in her tutu. She loves riding her bike, reading books and swimming in our pool. You can be sure that with Sophia as an adventurous and loving big sister, your child will always have a playmate and best friend.

Our Home
We live in a quiet neighborhood in Tarzana, California, sharing a four-bedroom house with Thor, our friendly family cat, and Pinkie, our fish whose bowl sits perched by our kitchen sink, so he is never lonely.  We have a large backyard that we practically live in; having barbecues, pool-parties and enjoying the starry skies and warm southern California summer nights while roasting marshmallows in the outdoor fireplace. Our cul-de-sac is filled with kids, plus, we live nearby many parks, and we're just 20 minutes from the beach.  We love our neighborhood and think it's the perfect spot to raise our family.

Our family and friends
Our friends and family are a big part of our lives. We view our definition of “family” as very expansive.  Our extended family includes biological, and stepparents, as well as half siblings.  We firmly believe that there are many ways to create a family, and they are all equally wonderful.   We will love the child who enters our family through adoption every bit as much as we love our biological child.

In our immediate family, we have two grandmas, one step-grandma, two grandpas, four aunts and uncles, six nieces and nephews and countless cousins who are all excited to spoil a new family member.  While most of Daniel's family lives in Minnesota, he has a brother and his family that live about an hour away and we visit each other often.

Tracy's father and step-mom live 5 minutes from us as do her half-brother and stepsister and family, which is great because family gatherings can happen at a moments notice and often do. You never know who's going to pop in to visit which is wonderful. Tracy's mom lives about 2 hours from us in Palm Springs. Your child will hopefully love the sparkling pool, delicious meals and magical sunsets at Grandma's desert home as much as Daniel and Sophia do.
Family is very important to both of us. We will insure that your child will know what it's like to be in a loving family and experience the richness and support that a strong family offers.

In Closing
We cannot express how excited we are to welcome your child into our family. He/she will be welcomed by a large and loving family with many diverse occupations, hobbies, and interests, which will add to your baby's own life experiences. We will raise your child with love, listening and sound guidance. We will nurture and support them to discover who they are and become the best they can be.

We believe in education and will encourage your child develop a passion and excitement for learning. Good schools and a college degree will be there to help them find their way through the world and make the most of their life.

We also believe that experiencing the world through travel is an essential part of learning and we will give them plenty of opportunity to explore the world be it on an airplane or during a quick hike in the mountains near our house.

We hope you will want to get to know us in person, and that we will have an opportunity to get to know you. We wish you the strength and spirit to make the decision you feel is best.
