Hi! We’re Beth and Michael. Thank you for reading our letter. When we found out that we had fertility issues adoption was a natural choice for us. Our goal is to be parents. We have always wanted to have children and feel we are prepared to be good parents. We hope that you’ll find we have a lot to offer a child.

About Us
We will provide a safe, stable, supportive, and fun home for a child. We met in 1997 and have been together ever since. We were married in 2001. We are hard-working, gentle people who look forward to spending lots and lots of time with a child.
We live in a quiet community filled with tons of children. Beth plans to be a full-time mom. We are lucky that Michael provides enough financial security to make this possible.
Beth’s retired – but very active – parents live right down the street. We believe in doing things together as a family and share plenty of fun activities and hobbies. We are also active in our church. We love animals and have a dog and a parakeet.
Our Home
We have a three bedroom house with a big, fenced back yard, a huge garden and space for a play set. The vegetables and flowers growing in our garden will be a great way for a child to learn about nature. We spend lots of evenings on our covered back porch, eating dinner, enjoying the sunset and just talking. There is also a grill that we use several nights a week to make dinner.
Within walking distance of our home is a park with tennis courts, soccer fields and swing sets. There are tons of local sports clubs for children of all ages. Beth’s parents live just down the street. We have a school bus stop out front where the neighborhood kids catch the bus for the short ride to school.

Day by Day
We’re sure you’ll be wondering what the day-to-day life of your child would be like with us. Michael gets his day started early. Our parakeet, Frankie, starts chirping his happy song shortly after Michael gets up. Throughout the week Michael works during the day and spends his evenings at home or with friends and family. He often grills dinner for us.
Beth works part time as a community college instructor. She frequently spends her days volunteering at our church, working with senior citizens, doing crafts or spending time with her parents. Beth’s parents stop by every morning to take our dog, Sofie, for her first walk of the day.
In the evenings we spend time together around the house or do some fun activity like play a game of tennis or take the dog for a walk. After dinner we might run some errands, work on a fun project or relax in front of the fireplace or on the porch with Sofie. We usually go out to eat one evening a week and can’t wait to have a child join us on these outings.

Weekend & Vacation Fun
We have an RV, so many weekends we go to interesting places. We like camping because it gives us the opportunity to explore new places and enjoy the outdoors. When we take the RV out Beth enjoys browsing antique shops. Michael likes to tour historic sites and find out about life in different parts of the world.
We also like to take bigger trips. We have been to visit Michael’s family in Italy several times. We love to travel to places like Disney World, London, and the Caribbean and to visit our friends and family throughout the country.

Our Interests
We are very family-oriented. Most of our free time is spent with family and almost all of our vacations involve visiting family. Beth’s parents and brother live close by and we see them regularly.
Michael comes from a family who worked in construction. He worked his way through college in a series of jobs that lead to greater and greater success. He looks forward to helping a child learn at an early age the skills that make life easier.
We are involved in our church and feel that all children should have exposure to religion. Having a strong moral foundation is very important to us.
We are interested in all sorts of different things from history to science to literature. Beth loves to read and can’t wait to teach a child to read. Her father was an actual ‘rocket scientist’ before retirement and he manages to make math fun. We enjoy visiting museums and learning new things. We will encourage our child to learn as much as possible and explore whatever he or she is interested in.
Growing up Michael played baseball and took judo and boxing. Now he enjoys building things and exploring new ideas. Beth grew up taking dance lessons, riding horses and playing the clarinet. Now she enjoys reading, crafts and spending time with family and friends.
We both had parents who encouraged and supported us. We hope to encourage our child to explore different activities and find out what is right for him or her. We hope to see our child grow both as a part of our family and as an individual in the world.
Raising a Child
We are both naturally curious people and can’t wait to see the world through the inquisitive eyes of a child. We believe in teaching by example and encouragement and not through harsh discipline. We know that being parents can be challenging as well as rewarding. We feel that we are mature enough, both mentally and financially, to meet that challenge. Above all we intend to provide unconditional love to our child.
Thank you again for taking the time to learn about us.
