Dear Birth Mother,
On your journey to find the right couple for your child, we hope our letter and photos offer you a glimpse into our daily lives and the life that we can offer.

We are Sam and Mark. We’re a loving couple with strong family values and a strong faith in God. We met while out with mutual friends and instantly there was a connection between us. We have been happily married for 9 years. Our love grew stronger over the next five years and in 1998 we were married. Our relationship is based on love, trust, honesty and a joy for the adventures life brings us.

We are so excited to adopt a child!
We love children and have always dreamt of a large family. We have not been able to have children of our own, but feel God has another path for us to have a family through adoption. In 2005 we adopted our son, Reed, from Russia. He was 12 months old at the time and is now 2 ‘ years old and the joy of our life. We truly feel blessed. We are amazed to watch him grow and learn every day, giving him guidance and support all along the way. Reed not only has us as parents, he also has both sets of grandparents, who love him deeply and are very active in his life. We are now at a time in our lives where we want to expand our family by adopting again!

About Mark
Mark grew up in Ohio with a close loving family, surrounded by Aunts, Uncles, and many cousins. He has one older brother, John, who lives in Ohio. His parents now live in Pennsylvania. Mark’s childhood was filled with team sports, baseball, basketball, fishing trips with his father and grandfather, and fun adventures with friends. His connection to both of his parents remains an important part of his life today

Mark attended Penn State University and graduated with a degree in Architectural Engineering. He later went on to attend Denver University where he received his Masters in Business Administration. Mark is currently an Executive for a large national engineering/construction firm and has been with the company for 16 years. He plays on a basketball league once a week and enjoys golfing with friends. He also enjoys bike riding, cooking, fishing, working out, and hiking. Mark has a great sense of humor and always makes me laugh.

About Sam
Sam grew up in California and has always had a love for the ocean. Her family enjoyed the outdoors and took many camping trips throughout the year. Often her family would go on fun adventures like horseback riding, snow mobiling, hiking, and white water rafting. Holidays were a big celebration at her home, having friends and family over to celebrate. On weekends, she and her girlfriends would ride their bikes to the beach and spend the day relaxing in the sun and eating pizza. Sam’s parents, brother, wife and three children, still live in California. They stay in close contact via phone as well as traveling out for visits. Sam is especially close to her Mom, whom she talks to frequently.

Sam worked in Property Management for many years, but now works three days a week as the Administrative Assistant for the Missions Department. She spends the other days with Reed going to the park, playing with friends, visiting museums and being an instrumental part of his development. One night a week she takes hip hop classes at a local dance studio. Sam loves dance, the ocean, pets, travel, photography and bike riding. She has a caring and compassionate spirit.

Our Home
We have been blessed with a lovely home in Virginia. There are beautiful large trees behind our home and deer are spotted throughout the area, even in our backyard! Our home is spacious and warm with lots of windows. There are many young families with children throughout the neighborhood and kids are always playing outside. The elementary school is within walking distance and there are two large parks nearby, which we frequent often with Reed.

Our Fun Adventures!
We love to travel and take family vacations every summer. Throughout the year we travel to California to visit family and friends, as well as other fun destinations. In the winter we had a great time snow mobiling in Aspen. We recently took Reed to the Bahamas where he enjoyed swimming and playing on the beach. We want our children to experience the many cultures in life through travel, as well as make life long memories as a family.

More About Us
We both share a strong faith in God. We have strong family values and want to instill faith, trust, honesty and responsibility into our children’s lives. We love spending time together, whether its bike riding, hiking, or simply taking a walk. Quality time is important to both of us. In addtion, we love pets and currently have a fun loving cat name ‘Matisse’.

We can offer your child a lifetime of unconditional love and nurturing guidance as well as exposure to unlimited opportunities. Your child will grow up in a loving, caring environment filled with laughter and encouragement. They will have the opportunity to attend the college of their choice, or to pursue whatever dreams they may have. We will encourage them to experience life through friends, family, travel and adventures.
