Teresa and Cindy

Hi, Teresa and Cindy here!
We live just outside of Salt Lake City, Utah and have been together for almost nine years now. We would like nothing more than to add to our lives and happiness in a way that only children can. As you search for parents for your child we are hopeful that as you learn about us, you will find the qualities you are looking for.

About Us
Teresa was born in Idaho, spent her childhood in Washington state and her adolescence in southern Utah before moving to the Salt Lake City area for college. Teresa comes from a large, close, traditional family with one brother and four sisters. Teresa is a Respiratory Care Practitioner who is held in high regard by her co-workers.

Cindy was born and raised in southern California, moved to Texas after college before moving to Utah. She was adopted into a loving modern family with six brothers and three sisters and has two adopted cousins. Cindy is a pediatric charge nurse who enjoys the support and respect of her co-workers.

We met through work more than nine years ago and have been inseparable since. Our jobs are flexible enough to always allow at least one of us to be at home with children. We are each others soft place to land. We do everything together and we laugh a lot. We are kids at heart and find fun in anything we do together. We love good food, photography, traveling, gardening, and spending quiet time at home watching movies.

We believe that children need to be loved unconditionally and nurtured to feel safe and secure so they can grow in confidence and self-esteem. We believe that respect, honesty, integrity, education, hard work, and especially laughter open children up to incredible opportunities as healthy productive adults.

Our Home
We have a comfortable home with a very large yard, which is important to us so that our children will have room to play. We live two blocks from the elementary school in a very safe neighborhood full of children. Our home is only thirty minutes from ski resorts, lakes, and national parks. We experience all four seasons, which are great for the outdoor activities we enjoy such as biking, hiking, skiing and snowboarding.

Family & Friends
Because our families are important to us, we rotate holidays between our families in California and Utah so we can keep up with the twenty-one nieces and nephews we have between us. We also spend one week in the fall in California with Cindy’s family, and one week each summer houseboating at Lake Powell with Teresa’s family.

Since our families don’t live nearby, our friends have become our extended family. We spend a great deal of time with our friends. In fact, our last three vacations have been spent with friends who have children. Call us crazy, but some things just seem more fun with children.

Our next door neighbors, Bill and Julie, have become our closest friends. Their three beautiful daughters come over often asking if we can come out and play. Bill and Julie often joke that we can “practice” on their kids so we’ll have it right by the time we have our own. Our friend Eileen just adopted her second child so now she has a boy and a girl. If it takes a village to raise a child, we have more than a village.

Our families and friends are so wonderful, loving and supportive. They are excited at the prospect of a new addition and encourage us in our endeavor to be parents.

As you contemplate your decision, we cannot fully understand all you must go through; however, we do appreciate and respect the strength and courage it takes to consider adoption and know it does not come easily.

Thank you for your interest and taking time to learn a little about us.
