Dear Birthmother,
Thank you for taking the time to learn about us as you consider the miracle of adoption. We are Tina and Ian, and we are very familiar with the amazing gift that adoption provides for families. We adopted our oldest son Luke from Ukraine when he was five years old, and he has been a blessing to our lives. We also have another wonderful son named Zachary. Now we are hoping to complete our family by adopting one more child. We respect the difficult decisions that you have to make right now, and it is obvious you love your child very much. We would like you to know that if you choose us as your child’s adoptive parents your child will be part of a loving family, and we will love your child with all of our hearts. We will be committed to providing the best life possible for your child, and your child will be part of a close, loving, and happy family. By choosing us you will have given our family the greatest gift possible.

About Us
We met 17 years ago, and we were drawn to each other because of our similar interests; sports, outdoor activities, and traveling. We also realized that our family and friends were very important to both of us. These factors were the foundation that our relationship was built on.
Our friendship soon blossomed into a very loving relationship, and we were married 12 years ago. Since then we have helped each other grow as individuals, and we have grown as a family. We have certainly had our ups and downs especially with the fertility issues, but we believe that everything happens for a reason. We now have two beautiful sons, and we would like to have one more child to complete our family. After watching our second son progress through the stages that every newborn, infant, and toddler goes through we realized that we would love to have another child because we want to experience all of those wonderful moments one more time.

About Tina
Tina grew up in a loving family in central Illinois with an older brother and a younger sister. During her youth she was very active in many different athletic activities including baton twirling, softball, soccer, basketball, and volleyball. Her family had a pool at their house, so it was always the place where people gathered. Tina has always been an outgoing, athletic, fun loving person who values her family and friends dearly. Tina values every single day as a gift from God, and she continues to live life to the fullest.
Tina attended college in the Midwest and then went on to receive a Masters in Business Administration. She works for the federal government in real estate. Currently she works part-time so that she is home in the afternoons with our sons. Her favorite activities are things that she can do with her two boys. Her hobbies include playing soccer and reading.
About Ian
Ian grew up in northern Illinois. He was the oldest child in a family with three boys. His family was also very active and close knit. Ian participated in sports throughout high school and college. His family came to just about every sporting event no matter how far away it was. This reinforced the importance of supporting your loved ones to Ian, and he hopes that he is the type of parent to his children that his parents were. Ian is still very close with several friends from high school and college, and his family and friends are the most important aspects of his life.
Ian went to a small college in the Midwest and then went to medical school in Iowa. He is now an Emergency Medicine physician in Southern California. His schedule is variable but this is beneficial for the family because he is able to adjust his schedule so that he can attend many school events that he wouldn’t be able to attend if he had a “normal” 8-5 job. Like Tina, he enjoys spending time with his family and his favorite activities include activities with his sons. Ian’s hobbies include cooking, weightlifting, reading, and SCUBA diving.

Our Family
We have two lovely sons named Luke, age 11, and Zachary, age 4. Luke is athletic and participates in soccer, basketball, baseball, track, and kung-fu. His favorite subject in school is math, and he loves to play with our dog, Trixie. Zachary loves to read, do art projects, and he is a huge sports fan. Both boys look forward to having a younger brother or sister. We enjoy going for bike rides, hikes and walks together. We live close to a park and many afternoons we can be found there playing basketball, football or baseball. We also have two other members of our family, our dog named Trixie and our cat named Kailua.
We are members in our local Lutheran church where we attend church and Sunday school on a regular basis. We are trying to instill a love for Jesus in our children. Our family values include honesty, a strong work ethic, strong family relationships and friendships, and education.
Although we don’t live in close proximity to our extended families, we are very close to both sides of our family. We have three wonderful nephews on Tina’s side of the family and we have two fantastic nephews and one adorable niece on Ian’s side of the family. Both sets of grandparents are currently retired so we get to see them several times throughout the year. We talk to each set of grandparents at least once a week. Everyone is very excited for us, and they can’t wait for the new addition to the family. They have all seen what a blessing our first adoption experience has been.

Our Home
We live in a four bedroom house with a fenced in backyard in Southern California. We are within walking distance of both our sons’ schools as well as our church and a local park. The neighborhood is a mix of older families that have been here for many years and younger families with children. It is a very friendly and safe neighborhood and a nice place to grow up.
