We are Donna and James and we would like to thank you for considering us as the adoptive parents for your child. It will be an honor and a blessing if you chose us to adopt your baby. We are so excited about sharing our love and our lives with a child. We realize this will be one of the biggest decisions in your life, and we want you to know that we will give everything we have to provide your baby with a happy, loving, and secure family. About Donna and James
We have known each other for over 30 years. About 4 years ago, James just called me out of the blue. We met for dinner and a movie and have been together ever since. There just seemed to be a special bond between us. We’ve now been married for 3 years. It’s funny because James says it feels like we’ve been married forever. He says that he feels so comfortable with me that it seems like we’ve always been together. I, on the other hand, feel like we just got married. I still feel the excitement I did on my wedding day and love him with all of my heart. As a couple we enjoy doing almost anything together from playing with our dogs, going to a ballgame, seeing a movie, traveling, fishing on the lake, or just spending a lazy Saturday afternoon on the couch watching TV.
We tried for over 2 years to conceive naturally, and then went to a fertility clinic for help. We are very excited about adopting! Since Donna was also adopted as a baby, we felt it was a perfect option.
Our Home
We live in a beautiful 4 bedroom, 3 1/2-bath home on Lake Norman. We have a big yard, part of which is fenced in. It’s great for running and playing. Our neighborhood is very safe and everyone is friendly. The neighborhood has holiday activities for the children and other community activities such as ice cream socials and cookouts. We live about 30 minutes outside the city, so we have the benefits of driving into the city for activities such as football games, basketball games, the theater, etc. We also live far enough outside the city that we can enjoy things in the country such as nature, going out on the lake, gardening, and horseback riding.
Our FamilyOur immediate family includes our 3 dogs, Mac, Heidi, and Hogan. All 3 dogs are very sweet and loving, and great with children. They have been excellent with James’ girls since they were little. They are also wonderful with my sister-in-law’s triplets who are only 1 ½ years old now and have been visiting us since they were infants. Our dogs seem to really love children and follow them around keeping watch over them. Both of us grew up with dogs and want our own child to share the same experiences of responsibility and unconditional love that we had.
James has 2 daughters from his previous marriage. Laura is 8 and Caroline is 5. They are very cute, loving, and sweet girls and stay with us every other weekend, some holidays, and several weeks in the summer. We have formed a wonderful blended family with everyone getting along really well. The girls are looking forward to the new addition in our family and will be great little helpers.
Both of our parents live within an hour of us. They both live out in the country and have pools, horses, and lots of land to play on and explore. Donna’s parents can’t wait to have their first grandchild. They are truly ecstatic about our decision to adopt. James’ parents are also very excited to have another grandchild to enjoy. We are both very close to our parents and spend lots of time with them. We especially enjoy the family birthday and holiday celebrations. Donna has one brother who also lives close by, and James has one sister who lives in Colorado but comes home to visit often with her family. Both sets of grandparents have eagerly agreed to help take care of our child when we are working.

James is such a sweet and caring man. He has a very quiet and loving spirit. He is very generous and would do anything to help his family and friends. He’s a dedicated and hard worker, and always tries to do his very best in his work and with his family. He’s a great daddy to his two girls and loves spending time with them. His girls love playing and laughing with him, and yet they also love talking to him when they are down or upset about something. James is a golf pro with a flexible schedule, which will allow him to be home some during the week to take care of our child. He will be a wonderful dad.

I have known Donna since I was 6 years old. It is because of this long relationship I have with my wife that I can say without a doubt that she would make an excellent mother. Donna always tries to make sure everyone in her life is taken care of and made to feel loved. She is a remarkable woman. Donna is also the office manager at her father’s chiropractic clinic, and will have the flexibility to reduce the hours she works when the baby comes home. She is truly a wonderful woman that will make an incredible mother if we are chosen to adopt your child.
What we have to offer
We would like to offer your child a lot of love and a secure family. We would like to provide your child with the opportunity for education, the ability to explore his/her talents, to travel and learn about music and the arts. We want to provide the opportunity for him/her to become all that he/she wants to be. We are the type of family that enjoys eating meals together and sharing our days with each other. We were raised believing in good manners and respect and love for self and others, and we want to share those values with our child. We believe in being close to our family and friends. We also have a strong faith in God, and believe in praying and attending church and will share our faith with our child. He/she will be brought up with Christian beliefs and values.
It’s hard to explain how excited and how much we want to love a child and provide him/her with the greatest things in life. We are excited about watching him/her grow, taking his/her first steps, laughing and learning. Birth Mother, should you choose us to adopt your child, we will make every opportunity available to him/her in whatever he/she decides to do, but most of all, your child will receive all the love we have and will be cherished everyday as our own.
