Carol and Randy

Dear Birthmother:
Both Randy and I are honored that you would consider us as parents for your child. By reading this letter, we hope that you will come to know us through our words and photos and that this knowledge will help you make your decision. We can offer lots of love, a fulfilling family life with excited grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins, educational opportunities, and so much more. You can be secure in the understanding that your child will be unconditionally loved, nurtured, and surrounded by the warmth of a loving family.

Who We Are
After years of being single, we met on a blind date in 2005 and quickly became best friends. We didn’t waste any time and were married in 2006! We have so much fun together—we share many common interests (reading, movies, travel, nature, and more). While we’ve been challenged with fertility problems, we are excited that we can parent a child and grow our family through the process of adoption. Our struggles have made us an even stronger couple. We are financially responsible, conscientious, and compassionate people. We always see the glass as half full.

Our Home & Neighborhood
We live with our dog, Max, and our cat, Oscar, in a single-family home in Orange County, California, halfway between Los Angeles and San Diego. We are committed to our family-friendly city and feel that it is a wonderful place to raise a family. We live near green parks, wilderness areas, swimming pools, beaches, tennis courts, and award-winning public schools.

Our World of Family & Friends
Carol’s parents celebrated their forty-fifth year of marriage. Carol’s dad is a scientist and worked for the U.S. Air Force. The family experienced many adventures living on the East Coast and overseas. Carol and her younger sister graduated from a California high school and college. Carol’s parents just relocated to Arizona, while her sister’s family lives close-by.

Randy’s parents were high school sweethearts and have been married for forty-six years. His dad managed the family business for many years. Randy and his older brother grew up in a loving home in Los Angeles County, where the family still resides. This tight-knit group also includes his aunt, uncle, and cousin, plus our niece and nephew.

There are frequent family get-togethers large and small. We are also blessed with wonderful and supportive friendships. Many of our friends have two or more children in a range of ages from one to twelve-years-old, and we love to include them in the fun.

Everyday Life
During the workweek, we get home in the late afternoon and are greeted by our pets, Max and Oscar, with wagging tails! We eat home-cooked meals, and afterwards, we usually walk on a nearby trail or ride our bikes. This is a peaceful time when we enjoy nature and talk about our day. We end most evenings reading or watching a movie.

Our weekends pass quickly. We like meeting up with family, taking our dog to the beach, watching our nieces or nephew, gardening, hosting a barbeque, going to the movies, or enjoying a little weekend travel. We both love vacations! Two of our favorite places, besides home, are Italy and England. We want our child to experience these great vacations too!

We try to stay in shape and eat right, which isn’t always easy. We walk a lot and practice yoga for fun. Randy has run two marathons and raised money for Team in Training.

About Carol, by Randy
Carol is devoted to her family and friends. She is not shy in expressing her love, affection, and appreciation. She organizes our fun time and is creative and joyful. She also loves to cook and has a large collection of cookbooks. In fact, she loves all books. She is an excellent aunt to our two nieces and nephew. I know that she would be an amazing mother and has so much love to give.

Carol has worked in children’s book publishing since she graduated from college. Her job offers a lot of flexibility. She is an editor of special education books for children with learning disabilities. She’s dedicated to creating great books that help kids read.

About Randy, by Carol
Randy is the most loving, patient, and caring person that I have ever met. He is funny, kind-hearted, and blessed with incredible friendships. He’s still close with many childhood friends. He is the kind of man that everyone wants to know. I’ve learned so much about patience, giving, and friendship watching Randy. He would be a wonderful father and role model.

After graduating from college, Randy went to work in the insurance brokerage industry. He enjoys his job and is an advocate for his clients. His sixteen-year tenure provides stability and flexibility in our daily life. He is well respected by his coworkers and clients.
