Choose A Family : Parent Profile
Tracey and Eric
Dear Birthmother,
We would like to begin by thanking you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to read this letter and learn about our family. We are Eric and Tracey and we are truly honored that you are considering us as adoptive parents for your child. We are both so very thankful that you have chosen to give life to the child growing inside of you. It is with the utmost faith and respect that we wish you peace and trust that no matter what decision you make it will be the right one for you and your child.

About Our Family
Eric and I have been married for four years and were blessed with the birth of our son Kyle shortly before our first wedding anniversary. During our dating days we were aware adoption could be a possibility for us, and now after several miscarriages we are excited in the anticipation of growing our family with the help of such a wonderful and special woman as you. Our vision of a family is a large and loud one filled with siblings who can grow up together and share their lives, to be each other’s shoulder to cry on or to witness their successes with pride and laughter. Our children will know that they are loved and will never be alone, all the while with us proudly at their sides.
Eric and I met as a result of our most pampered dogs. I tell my son that I had to marry his dad just to keep my dog happy as she had become best friends with his father’s schnauzer. Yet, the one who has been happily ever after is I. Eric is the love of my life and it just seems to get better everyday that we share together.

Our hobbies and interests are very similar yet expressed in a very different fashion. We both love the outdoors and fitness. I practice and teach yoga and love to run. Eric, on the other hand, loves to mountain bike, golf and to lift weights. Over the years we have met in the middle, and we enjoy hiking together, the occasional shared yoga practice and now I even ride a bike. As a handicap to keep us even, Eric pulls our son behind his bike in a trailer that Kyle loves too. I also love to cook, which is a shared joy, mostly in the eating for Kyle and Eric, but Eric is our great dishwasher!
I stay at home with Kyle planning many play dates and trips to the zoo or puppet theater. Our days are full of laughter and many friends. I teach yoga about 5 hours a week and am able to bring Kyle along with me to an onsite daycare program. Before moving to our current home in Georgia, I worked as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist with the elderly. Working with people has always been very fulfilling for me, but my current career as a mom is far more rewarding.

Eric works hard as a software engineer to allow me to stay at home. He has flexibility in his schedule to work early mornings in order to be home for dinner and a bit of family fun in the evenings. He and Kyle have an amazing bond together. They love to rough house, play baseball and work on many house projects. Eric has taught Kyle the fine art of using a screwdriver and hammer. Someday soon I do hope Kyle will limit these skills to things already broken, but for now experimenting is learning.
When the weekend arrives we love to take daytrips around town. Our favorite place is the aquarium where we love to touch the rays and watch the sharks. We always conclude our trips with a walk to our favorite ice cream shop for a special treat. We also love to go to baseball games, movies, hiking and to church.

Eric and I believe strongly in education. I earned my Bachelor’s of Science from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and Eric is currently finishing his Bachelor’s Degree from DeVry University. We will encourage and support our children to explore the many possibilities in furthering their education, even beyond our own education levels.
Our Extended Family
I come from a close knit family. I have both an older brother and sister, and between them they have 7 kids, of whom we love as our own. My parents have been married for 42 years and are remarkable role models and grandparents. We live scattered along the east coast but manage to see one another frequently. Thanksgiving is traditionally celebrated with as many as 40 and is an absolute favorite holiday of ours. My family is my greatest asset and support network.
Eric has a large and supportive family as well. He is the youngest of two brothers and a sister. In order to visit, we must all fly to each other’s homes, and we always have a wonderful time together. Our favorite stop is Boston with my sister-in-law, her husband and their two children. Any visit with her family also includes a trip to see the Boston Red Sox or the aquarium. Both of our families are simply thrilled that we have chosen to adopt. Our mothers are already planning their visits for when we bring our next child home, and neither can wait!

Our Neighborhood
We live in a lovely neighborhood with a community pool, park and tennis courts. One of our favorite family activities is to walk our dogs around the neighborhood and to stop to chat with our friends and neighbors. Kyle will soon be old enough to walk to his best friend’s house alone, but right now I still get to walk him down the block. I know he will enjoy being the one to walk his brother or sister to their best friend’s house someday. He is very excited about becoming a big brother.
Closing Thoughts
We wish to raise your child with the freedom to dream his or her own dreams and with the skills, strength and courage to make those dreams come true. Eric and I will love your child no matter what he or she chooses to do in life, no matter what path he or she may take, and even more we will love and support him or her through the bumps along the way.
