Choose A Family : Parent Profile
Larry, Jodi & Tyler
First of all, THANK YOU. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to introduce ourselves, our family, and our friends. We are Larry, Jodi, and Tyler. We are truly honored that you are considering us as an adoptive family for your child. As you make one of the most giving, yet difficult, decisions of your life, we realize that you are reading through each of these letters looking for something unique and special that captures your heart. Should we be the family you choose, we promise to provide, nurture, and give your child a stable and loving home.

In The Beginning…
We have known each other for about 13 years. Five years ago, Larry invited me to watch one of his ice hockey games and the rest is history. We bought a beautiful home together 4 years ago, making sure that we had at least 4 bedrooms so we could fill them with children. We love being around all the kids in the court and playing baseball with our son, Tyler. We hope to give you as much depth into our family, friends,
activities, home, life, and us as possible.

Now…
We are very fortunate in that Jodi is a stay-at-home mom. This has allowed her the freedom to focus her efforts on Tyler and our family. Larry works as a Fire Captain, so his schedule gives him the opportunity to be off work and at home about 20 days a month. This gives us a lot of time to spend with each other. We are able to attend all of the school functions and Tyler’s baseball games due to our flexibility in our schedules. We know that this is a benefit to Tyler and will be a benefit to your child.

Education…
Education is a high priority for both of us. We believe that our children should receive the best education possible and we will strive to give our children just that. We will encourage our children when needed and help them to pursue their goals and dreams.

Our Plan to Adopt…
We both love children. When we first met we quickly realized that not only were we both very close with our own families, but we both also longed to make a family of our own. We had decided a few years ago that our life plan was to have a child of our own and then we would hope to adopt a child into our family. We felt like this would really complete us. ! By giving us this gift, you are giving us the opportunity to expand our family and care for a child unconditionally. We want to envision our children’s goals and dreams with them. By sharing and understanding their ambitions, we can try to give and offer them the resources and means needed to attain these. We have close family friends that adopted. Seeing the love and fulfillment that came with their experience really has inspired us.

Jodi…
Jodi is always the first to smile. Fun is an essential part of her life and she has brought endless laughter to our home. She is a goal-oriented person, as well as very creative. She enjoys sports, especially volleyball and running. Jodi attended college at Sacramento State University. She has a talent for art, a vision for decorating, an eye for photography, and a desire to make everything that she does special, including holidays. She loves the holidays and has created many traditions in our family. She has made each of us our own personalized stockings and decorates one-of-a-kind birthday cakes for us, too!
Jodi loves children. She always puts Tyler first without question. She is meant to be a mother...always committed to making every game, school play and fieldtrips, “team mom”, participating in classroom activities, or just the time to play with the kids in the court. I truly feel that Tyler’s life and mine have been blessed to have her be a part of our lives. Without a doubt, I know that our new child will have the same blessings and love that we have been given from her.
Larry…
Larry is the oldest of two boys. He was born in Ohio and was raised by both his parents in the Bay Area. He is very close to his family and enjoys spending time with them. Larry’s brother and wife are pregnant and due to have a little one of their own this year. Making Larry an uncle and Jodi an auntie!
Larry is a caring, sensitive, hard-working, a kid-at-heart, and loving. Larry works as a Fire Captain-Paramedic. His career gives him the opportunity to spend a lot of time at home with us. I know he is looking forward to being able to add some special one-on-one time with a new addition to our family. Larry enjoys playing golf, riding his bike, hunting, fishing, snow-skiing, riding his motorcycle, and playing on the Fire Department ice hockey team.
Larry has been getting “parenting experience” in for the last 5 years. He has taken Tyler in, as if he was his own. He gives him so much love and
attention. Tyler and Larry have created a strong bond and continue to grow this bond out of love and respect. Larry is looking forward to being a dad and extending our family! He will be a wonderful dad! I look forward to sharing this experience with him!
Tyler…
Tyler is our wonderful 9-year old son. He loves playing baseball! When he grows up he wants to play in the MLB. Tyler is a very good student and athlete. Tyler is very loving, sensitive, athletic, quick-witted, outgoing, and funny. He continues to make us smile and bring laughter into our home.
We have been very open with Tyler about adopting a baby. He has been very receptive and is excited of the thought of having a baby brother or sister. Tyler has always been very caring and affectionate towards our friend’s children. We know that Tyler will be a great brother for his brother or sister to look up to and to trust. If it were up to Tyler, we would have to adopt 8 more children so we could have a baseball team!
Bailey, Tara & Zoey…(Our Other Kids)…
Bailey and Tara are two free-spirited, fun-loving Labrador Retrievers. Bailey is very loyal and loves to play with us and the kids. Bailey is even known to go down the slides at the kid’s park or play outfield in a game of baseball. Tara is just a big love. Tara is extremely gentle and sweet with the neighborhood kids, as well as with Tyler. We often take our dogs for runs or walks and play ball in the front yard. They love swimming, camping, treats, walks, and being anywhere we are!
Zoey became part of our family in August 2007. We “adopted” her from a Petco family. She follows us and the dogs everywhere. She loves to play…sleep…and eat. She hangs outside with us and she even let’s Tyler do whatever he wants, including tucking her in bed with him at night! She has fit into our family very well.
Our Families and Friends…
We are very fortunate to have our families close to us. We often get together for dinners, a birthday, or for camping and baseball games. We know that should we need our family at any time that they would be there in a heartbeat! It is very comforting to have both our families blend together so well. They are all very excited for us to expand our family and look forward to a new bundle of joy to spoil with affection and love.
Our friends have really shown their definition of what true friendship is. Most of our friends stem from the Fire Department Family and are like family to us. Our friends have really shown their definition of what true friendship is. Our friends have been very loyal to us and we know that we have their full love and support in our next journey of life – adoption.
Our Home & Neighborhood…
In 2004 we purchased our home on a cul-de-sac. We have plenty of room as we have a third of an acre. We have built very good relationships with most of our neighbors and we all rely on one another as family. The kids play everyday after school and first thing until dark on weekends. We try to get together with the kids for different holidays and outings. We especially like the location of our home, as we are close to an excellent elementary school. Education is very important to us and we want to give our children the very best we can. We not only live close to many parks, shopping, hiking, restaurants, and downtown, but we are also centrally located to the mountains, lakes, and two metropolitan cities. The community is very supportive of our children and offers many extra-curricular activities for all ages.
We hope that this has given you depth into each one of us, as well as those around us. We respect your strength and selfless love. We would be honored to be chosen by you to raise your child and provide a loving home.
Thank you again for your time and consideration.
With much admiration,
Larry, Jodi & Tyler
