Lori and Jason
Dear birth mother,
We greatly appreciate you taking the time to read our letter and for considering us as possible parents for your child. We can’t imagine how difficult this must be for you, but deeply admire your strength and courage. We want you to know that we will love and cherish every moment as parents to the child with whom we are blessed.
About Us:
We are Jason and Lori and we have been married for eight years, but have known each other for sixteen. We went to the same high school and would see each other in the hallway, but had never really met. Through some friends we finally were introduced and went out on our first date. We dated through the rest of high school and college. In 1999, Jason proposed and we were married in June 2000. We have so much fun traveling, going to movies, and just spending time together. We both knew we wanted children and in March of 2004 we had our son, Landon. It was so exciting being parents for the first time and we just fell in love with him instantly. We knew we wanted Landon to have a sibling but, after trying several years to conceive again, Lori was diagnosed with endometriosis. Instead of IVF treatments, we turned to adoption. Landon is so excited to be a big brother and we are looking forward to building our family!
Our home is in East Tennessee and we live really close to many of our family and friends. Our neighborhood is in a great location and there are many children to play with. We are near parks, wonderful schools, and our subdivision has two swimming pools and big playgrounds. Landon loves to be outside and play. We have many different areas just to walk or ride bikes.
There are so many things we enjoy doing as a family. One big thing is taking trips together. We often go with Lori’s sister, her husband, and daughter. We love to take long trips or even just for the weekend. Jason’s sister lives near Orlando, Florida, so we travel there at least once a year and spend time at the parks. It’s so much fun!
We are a Christian family and are so grateful for all the things God has done in our lives. He has always been there for us through good times and bad. We want our children to know that he loves them and is always there for them. Our church has a wonderful kid’s program and that is how we met a lot of the children we have play dates with. Landon has so much fun there.
About Jason:
Jason was born in East Tennessee and has four sisters and two brothers. His mother and father adopted three of his sisters, as well as one of his brothers from Moldova. He is a family practice physician and loves his job. He gets to work with people of all ages, especially children. He is a great dad and loves spending time with Landon every chance he gets. Jason is a person who always has a positive outlook on life. One of his big hobbies is coin collecting. He and Landon love looking at all the coins he has collected over the years. He also enjoys fishing, playing games, working out, playing softball, and spending time outdoors.
About Lori:
Lori was also born in East Tennessee and has always been close to her family. She had one brother, who passed away in 1995, and a sister who she is still very close to. Her parents are also a big part of her life. She is a stay at home mom and loves getting to spend time with Landon. Some other things she likes to do are taking pictures, swimming, and decorating. Right now we are in the process of finishing our basement into a home theater and game room. It has been a big project, but it will be a great place for our family and friends to get together and she will enjoy getting to decorate it.
About Landon:
Landon is such a great joy and is full of life! He is very loving and can always make us laugh. He loves playing with cars, trucks, and Transformers. He also loves catching bugs (preferably grasshoppers) in his little bug catcher with his dad and going fishing. He has several cousins he is very close to, and loves to go on play dates. He is so excited about becoming a big brother! Lori’s sister just had a baby boy and Landon always wants to baby sit him. Every night before bed he prays for a baby brother or sister. He is already setting some toys aside for the baby to play with.
About our pets:
We have three cats. Their names are Chloe, Raznik, and Arthur. Landon loves playing with them. They enjoy playing with Landon too because he will run through the house with string and other toys for them to chase!
In closing:
We are so excited about adopting. Our family has been very supportive and is excited too! We have so much love to give and know we will be able to provide for all of a child’s needs. We are looking forward to having another child in our lives.
