Dear Birthmother,
Hi! We are Jonathan and Julie, and we are thrilled that you are interested to learn more about us. To begin, we believe that we all have the same goal in mind; out of love we all want this child to have the best chance for a wonderful life with a loving, secure and happy home. We are sincerely humbled by the opportunity and welcome it with open arms. That said we’d like to tell you more about us, our relationship and most importantly share with you the kind of life we can provide.
About Us
Our story begins in the summer of 2003 when we met dancing one evening. It didn’t take long to realize that we were destined to be together. We were engaged in Cancun within six months and were married a year after we met and have been happily together ever since. We live in Southern California in a great house in a wonderful neighborhood. There are lots of kids with great families on our block and a park right up the street. We even have a TV star two doors up!
We love spending time outside. On weekends we enjoying going to the farmers market or take a nice hike with the dog. In the summer, we love spending time at the beach. We bring our roller blades to skate around, play in the water and have lunch. In the winter, we love nothing more than to get away for a mini break and do a little snowboarding. We both love to travel so we always plan at least 2 nice vacations each year. Since Jonathan and my mom are both Canadians we like to go with the whole family to Canada to visit relatives. Then we like to take a tropical vacation because we both love to scuba dive. It’s a nice mix…I taught Jonathan to snowboard and he taught me how to scuba dive. We make a great team.
We have a 2.5 year old daughter Payton and a 3.5 year old dog Brady. We adopted Brady in 2005 and he is so good with kids and loves nothing more than to play chase. He helps Payton burn off energy. On any given day our house is full of an 8x8 Mega Bouncer, a castle tent to play make-believe, trains, planes, dollhouse, puzzles, books, games, movies, puppets, play kitchen etc. We are never without a place to use our imaginations.
We are happy, but have always felt that we need one more in our family to make us complete. We have a couple close friends who have adopted and seen the special type of love that it brings to their families. We thought long and hard about it and know in our hearts that adoption is the right way to make our dreams come true.

What do I think about Julie? She is perfectly beautiful. What does that mean? It means that she is just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. She is the woman who makes my heart skip a beat every time she walks in the room. She is also the glue that holds together the fabric of our lives. She constantly puts the needs of others before herself, as a mother, a wife and as a friend. What I admire most about her is the ease and quickness that she builds relationships. Even more impressive is the time she dedicates to nurture them through the good and bad times. Based on the number of times she has rolled her eyes at me I am sure I’m her biggest project. She is a great cook and an even better Mom. She has strength. She is beautiful. And I love her.
About Jonathan (By Julie)
Jonathan is always the life of the party…..especially with the kids in the neighborhood. He loves to entertain and makes everyone feel warm and welcome. His sense of humor was the first thing that got me and also his smile. He always makes me laugh…even when I’m trying to be mad. And he’s always positive and upbeat. When we were first dating I thought he must be faking it but after 4 ½ years of marriage he is still positive and upbeat even when times are hard. He has a heart of gold and it always striving to become bigger and better at home and in business. He is a caring and loving husband and father. I could never ask for a better partner in life. We make a wonderful team and I could never imagine my life without him. I feel like we’ve known each other since childhood. Never believed in soul mates until I found mine! Yeah corny, I know.
The Life We Have to Offer
In an effort to help you make this important decision, we want to share what we are like and what kind of life we can offer. Life with us, includes, but is not limited to the following 10 things:
- Love, love, love and more love. We say that not just because there are four of us, but because it is the foundation of our everyday life. There is no shortage of that here.
- Great food. Be it Mac & Cheese or Chicken Piccata, Julie is an awesome cook. Specializing in organic cuisine. It’s like a hug.
- A Mom (Julie), who will love, nurture, teach you manners, schedule your daily fun, and make sure you are well dressed.
- A Dad (Jonathan), who’s primary functions include; role model, bath guy, toy fixer, book reader, climbing device and hug dispenser.
- A big sister (Payton), who as far as we can tell, will be cool most of the time.
- A dog (Brady), who will lovingly provide endless games of fetch, and the occasional stolen shoe.
- An awesome house in a great neighborhood. Includes, an 8ft by 8ft inflatable bouncer in the living room…good times.
- Grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins to love and spoil you.
- Financial stability, the opportunity for a quality education, and the chance to chase your dreams.
- Travel. We both have family in Canada and go there often. We are also partial to tropical locations like, Hawaii and the Bahamas.
