Hi, we’re Matt and Maggie. Thank you for taking the time to learn about us. This is a unique time in all of our lives and we’re honored that you would consider us to be the adoptive parents of your child. Your courage and strength has provided us an opportunity to fulfill our dreams of becoming parents. We hope that your decision will give you peace and the assurance that your child will be loved and nurtured for his/her lifetime. We would like to tell you more about our lives and the loving home we will provide for your child.
All About Us
We’ve been happily married for over ten years. Our love story began when we were teachers at a preschool. We had immediate connections like a passion for great food, a similar sense of humor and a special love for children. Our strong friendship developed into a loving relationship through the years. Open communication, support of individual passions, laughter and making time for one another have been the other ingredients to our continued love story. We feel blessed to have stable careers, financial security, and have been able to share wonderful experiences together. We know that this is the right time to include a child in our lives. We’ve always felt that things happen for a reason. Even though we haven’t been able to conceive a child on our own, we know that a child will come to us in different way. A picture is worth a thousand words and we hope that the following photographs will give you a sense of who we are and how we live our lives.
Dear Maggie,
We’ve gone on many adventures in our lives, but the one we’re about to take will be the all timer. I’m so excited to embark on this adoption journey with you. I knew from our time working together at The Country School that you are a natural care giver. Children love you. You have a unique way of entering a child’s world by being a thoughtful listener and making a child feel safe and comfortable. Your career in education and social work has provided you with rich experiences of knowing how to calmly talk to people and offering them guidance in their lives. You have helped to build families through adoption with your Home Study work and now it’s our time to build a family of our own. I have visualized countless moments of our lives as parents. I see a child hearing your laughter as we try putting a smile on his/her face for the first time. I see a child tasting your famous marinara sauce with pasta and then opening the fridge the next day excited to eat the delicious leftovers. I see you reading Green, Eggs and Ham, by Dr. Seuss, to a child while helping him/her turn each page. I see us as parents who will love and care for a child forever.

Dear Matt,
I remember when we first met, as young teachers, at the Country School and thinking to myself, what a special person he must be to teach such young children. It turns out I was right! As our friendship grew into love, I realized how caring, patient, and loving you are. Your sense of humor stood out and I recall how much you made me laugh. To this day, I love how you make me smile everyday, even if I’m upset. Over the years, I have seen you grow and develop as a teacher. Your dedication and commitment to your students is apparent when you talk to me about a new lesson you’re creating or sharing about a student who has overcome a challenge. I see the pride in your eyes knowing you have made a tremendous impact on their lives. As we embark on our own journey towards parenthood, I can’t wait to see you in your new role as a father. You will be an amazing dad. I can see you holding our son/daughter for the first time, reading bedtime stories, and making him/her laugh. I look forward to you teaching them all the things that you love to do, whether it is planting flowers in the front yard, playing catch, bowling, and your favorite, barbequing the perfect turkey burger. I want you to know how lucky I feel to be your wife, friend, and life partner. I can’t wait to start our next adventure of becoming parents.

Friends and Family
We feel blessed to have very close relationships with our families. Many of our family members live nearby. We love celebrating holidays and birthdays together as well as just hanging out for a backyard barbeque or meeting at a local restaurant. Our parents set a meaningful example for us about the importance of supporting family members in their lives. We want to follow in their footsteps and create a family filled with love and thoughtful guidance that supports each person’s unique gifts. In addition, we have a large extended family that covers California, the Midwest and the east coast.
Since we were both raised in California, we’ve had the opportunity to maintain close friendships through the years. We consider our friends members of our extended family. Most of them have children and we’ve been fortunate to be a part of their lives. We love hanging out with friends, either at a festive concert, fun movie, local park, day at the beach or playing games (Uno is our current favorite) in our living room.
Home Sweet Home
We live in a comfortable and cozy home in Valley Village, California. We are blessed to have a grandma on the premises. Maggie’s mom lives in a guesthouse located directly behind the main house. Our street is lined with colorful trees that change through the four seasons. You can often see children playing and people working on their gardens. There are many families in our neighborhood as well as local parks, libraries and restaurants that are within walking distance. Matt’s school is only five minutes from the house and there are several other schools that are close by. We are fortunate to be in a location that is a short drive away from many city attractions like Universal Studios, Hollywood, Griffith Park, and the Santa Monica Pier.
