Choose A Family : Parent Profile
Sharon and Beyn
Dear Birthmother,
We would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to learn about us and for considering us as adoptive parents for your child. We feel blessed for the opportunity to give your precious child a supportive and secure home filled with lots of love, hugs, and kisses.
Together:
We both feel very fortunate to be at the stage of our lives and careers to enjoy a balance between family, home, work and travel. We were married on the island of Maui and return to the Hawaiian Islands yearly to celebrate our commitment.
Our relationship is strengthened by our many shared interests and our strong commitment to family. We believe strongly in the importance of education, exposure to other cultures and travel.
Our love for travel has taken us near and far! On weekends it may be a trip to San Diego to see friends and a stop by Sea World or the Wild Animal Park. On three day weeks we run to Arizona to see Sharon’s father and enjoy the desert. Some times it’s a trip up the coast for the perfect Belgium waffle in Solvang. Disneyland is our favorite place for a day trip. Santa always leaves year passes under our tree. We both love the different holiday parades and decorations, Beyns favorite ride is Space Mountain, for Sharon it’s the Haunted Mansion.
Most of our long trips are focused around outdoor activities including hiking, snorkeling, diving, skiing and fishing. Cozumel, Cabo, and the Hawaiian Islands are among our favorite diving and fishing places.
We have both family and friends in Utah; and we try to get there every winter to ski and visit. The 4th of July is at Beyn’s Louisiana family beach house, for fireworks and southern cooking. We have been to Yellowstone to see world famous geysers, and South Dakota to see Mount Rushmore on the motorcycle.
We still have many places to explore and can’t wait to share our love for the outdoors and our future travel experiences with a child.
We cannot begin to explain our excitement of becoming a family. With flexible work schedules, both of us look forward to being at home to share the duties of child care.
Beyn:
Weekends are for: Shorts / Crocs / Breakfast in bed / Bike rides.
Likes:
Cajun food / Chocolate / Warm coffee / Gardening / Weekends / LSU Tigers
Growing up in Louisiana, Beyn is the oldest of three children. With two sisters, he is a true southern gentle man. Having graduated with an advanced degree from LSU, he moved to California eleven years ago. Beyn works in sales and has been with the same company over seventeen years..
Weekends are full with outdoor activities, starting with a walk to the local coffee spot on Saturday morning. He would love nothing more than to add a child to those morning walks. Once home he loves to spend time in the yard, nurturing his fruit trees, fresh fruit juice is often on the morning breakfast menu. Since he works Monday thru Friday, weekends are important for Beyn to catch up with family and friends. Beyn is the cook in the family, and can make everything taste great on the BBQ, his claim to fame are his “drop biscuits” at morning breakfasts.
Beyn has a love of photography and has filled our new home with great pictures he has taken of our trips, family and friends. He truly is an all around gentleman and good guy; two qualities that will make him a truly great father.

Sharon:
Weekends are for: Jeans / flip-flops / Crafts / Friends.
Likes:
Rice / Tacos / Warm days / Fireplace / White chocolate
Sharon is a true California girl. Growing up as the youngest, with a twin brother and two older brothers, she is an outdoor girl who loves the water.
Sharon is just finishing her master’s degree in nursing and education. Working as a flight nurse for the last 9 years, Sharon now has her feet firmly on the ground working in a local emergency room, and teaching nursing students. She has been a nurse for over 20 years, and has the benefits of working different shifts, leaving a flexible schedule to be an at home mom while Beyn is working.
Sharon played college softball, and worked in the local mountains on ski patrol during the winter.
Sharon is the crafty one of the family. She loves the holidays and makes most of the homes decorations. The house is always dressed up, including a flag on the front door.
There is never any doubt which holiday is coming up. Even the dogs and cats have their holiday collars.

Family and Friends:
Family and Friends are very important to both of us.
Beyn’s family lives in Louisiana: we see part or all of his family at least three to four times a year. On Beyns way to work most mornings he calls his mother just to catch up. Sharon’s three brothers live locally and her father lives in Arizona. Keeping in touch with her brothers usually just takes a phone call and a BBQ. We try to see her dad every other month. Sharon talks to him on the phone every weekend.
Some say it takes a village to raise a child.
Our village includes old friends, new friends, family, pets, and children of all ages. Everyone is very supportive and looking forward to a new addition to our neighborhood family tree.
There are a total of eight families who get together at least once a month for BBQs and movies. The guys usually cook, while the girls go out for a walk with the kids and dogs.
Progressive family Christmas parties, Trick or Treats for the kids and dogs, and a summer block party round out the major neighborhood events.
We are close with two of our neighbors, who we have dinner with at least weekly and take turns cooking breakfast the first Saturday of every month.

Home Sweet Home
Having just built our dream home with children in mind, we have lots of room for a family. We have new fences and a back yard waiting for a swing set and sand box.
We have two cats, Beamer and Harley.
Weekends are for:
Chasing birds after dad fills the feeder.
Likes:
A full bowl / Warm bed / Sunshine
These two are endless fun, they have both taken over the dog beds. Beamer and Harley keep our feet warm at night, and never fail to wake us up for breakfast at 5am.
Our two dogs Blue and Zoe:
Weekends are for:
Baths / Brushing
Likes:
Rides in the car / Chicken treats / Squeaky toys.
Blue and Zoe are Beyns dogs, however they quickly figured out who gives the most treats. Blue keeps track of all the animals and Zoe keeps track of all the toys.
Home Sweet Home
Our neighborhood is unique in that it offers a wonderful, safe area, and award winning schools. We are only one mile from the beach, with sun, sea air, and sand for sand castles it a great place to ride the bikes and spend the afternoon.
(Beyn is great with a beach bucket and shovel).
