Choose A Family : Parent Profile
Jodi & Jasmine
Dear Birthmother,
Thank you for taking time to learn about us. We are Jasmine and Jodi and we are truly honored that you are considering us as adoptive parents for your child. We can’t even come close to imagining what a big decision you are facing. While extremely difficult, we believe that the choice you are about to make comes from the most loving part of your heart. Whatever choice you make, we hope that it leaves you at peace. We will honor your decision and should you choose us, we will be forever grateful and offer the most loving environment to your child.

Our Story
In 2005 we met over hamburgers and fries at a local pub. It didn’t take long for us to realize that we share similar interests and that we have many friends in common. After discovering our shared passion for creativity, we decided to take a knitting class together. It was in this class that we fell in love. We spent weeks in class laughing, talking and sharing our life stories. Now, after being married for two years, we are excited to welcome a child into our lives and begin our journey as a family.

Jasmine
Jasmine grew up in California with a close knit family which included her mom, dad and little sister. She was involved in Girl Scouts, basketball, softball and student government. She was even named class president from 3rd grade until the end of college. Her leadership was admired by her peers. She was also known to have a playful side. She was often the trickster behind practical jokes that had her friends laughing for days. She moved to the East Coast for college and rekindled her love for mountains and hiking. In college she was active in student government and peer counseling. After graduating at the top of her class she moved to England to pursue her masters and PhD at Oxford University. While at Oxford, she was able to travel around the world and lived in South Africa for a year. Upon finishing her degrees and returning to the states, she continues to love traveling and exploring different cultures through food, music and dance. Her time in Africa is very dear to her heart and she hopes to return some day to offer the same opportunities to our child. Now Jasmine works as a senior researcher looking at poverty and injustice in the US South for an international nonprofit organization.

Jodi
Jodi was born and raised in New Hampshire. Her family remains there today and is a source of ongoing support and fun get-togethers. Jodi was very active as a child and involved in a variety of sports. Soccer and figure skating were her favorite and she competed internationally in figure skating. During high school, Jodi has always had many children in her life. She was either babysitting or visiting nieces and nephews. After finishing high school, she decided to pursue a career in social services helping adolescents in residential care. She continued to work with children in a variety of settings throughout the next ten years. Most recently Jodi was a full time nanny and an international adoption social worker. She is currently in college to complete a degree in Child Development. She is currently involved in many groups to help the development and well being of children. Jodi is known by her friends as a natural nurturer to children. She looks forward to sharing her life and dreams with a child.
Sammy
Sammy is our beloved 26 pound Maine Coon cat. He thinks he is a dog more than a cat and we have attempted to break the news to him on more than one occasion. He fetches and lounges around like a pro. He is the furriest, loving creature that reminds us everyday of how sweet life is.
Family and Friends
We are fortunate to have very close family on both sides with eager grandparents. Jodi’s family lives within an hour drive and we see them frequently for birthday parties, BBQ’s, holidays, graduations and casual get-togethers. Jasmine’s parents live in Florida and we get excited for our yearly visit to the South to see them and enjoy the sun. Her sister lives in California and she is excited to be an aunt and to show them the West Coast. Jodi’s brothers all live close by with children of their own. They await the newest member of the large cousin gang and are currently arguing over who gets to babysit first.
We are blessed to have so many wonderful and diverse friends in our lives. Many of our friends have young children and are excited to have future play dates together. We have a close knit group of friends that enjoy attending cultural activities and exploring the outdoors through camping and hiking.
Our Community
We live in a suburban area right outside of a major city. We enjoy the benefits of having a back yard, a quiet neighborhood and local shops around town, with all the city has to offer a few miles away. We live in a town with a top notch school district. Education is very important to us and we hope to instill that same value in our child. Our neighborhood is very diverse and offers a great deal of cultural activities around town. We have fantastic and loving neighbors that share a garden space with us and are always willing to lend a helping hand when needed.

In closing
We feel we have so much to offer a child and are excited for the opportunity to become parents. The things that have made our relationship strong are the exact same things we promise to give your child: complete honesty, open communication, an appreciation of peoples’ unique qualities, lots of laughter and unconditional love.
