We are Dave and Amy, and we are incredibly grateful to be considered as potential adoptive parents for your child. We have such great respect and admiration for you and your decision to choose adoption. We have dreamed of being parents for as long as we can remember and have lots of room in our hearts and in our lives to devote to a child.
How we met…
We knew our life together was meant to be when we met over eleven years ago. We moved to the same town on the same day and visited a mutual friend at the same time! We immediately became great friends, started dating and have now been happily married for six years. We have a strong marriage, based on true friendship, mutual respect and great love for one another.
About Dave…
Dave grew up in Connecticut with two younger brothers and a younger sister in a neighborhood with many friends his age. He has a large extended family that gathers often and enjoys meeting at the family resort in Maine, where his grandfather lives. The entire family recently gathered there for his Grandfather’s 80th birthday!
Dave has many diverse interests. He enjoys reading, playing the guitar, and has always played sports. He particularly loves hockey and swimming. From the time Dave was a little boy he dreamed of working for the Secret Service. He studied political science and history in college, and not long after graduating, began his dream job with the United States Secret Service. His job has brought us many close friends who we consider extended family, as well as many unique opportunities to attend special family events at the White House. While Dave is very dedicated to his job, it is important to him to be a hands-on dad who will be very involved in his children’s lives.
About Amy…
Amy grew up on her family’s farm in Nebraska with two brothers. Her parents still live in the same house where she spent the first 18 years of her life! Amy enjoyed growing up in the midwest and particularly enjoyed the summers, when family and friends would go boating and swimming, enjoy the beach, and have bbq’s at the Lake together.
Amy’s family taught her strong values, provided a loving environment, and always encouraged her to pursue her dreams. She plans to provide the same unconditional love, encouragement and strong foundation as a parent.
Amy has many interests. She is creative, enjoys the outdoors, has an open mind, and a great sense of adventure. She loves working for Disney where she creates new programs that enhance the lives of those who work there and make Disney a great place to work. She feels fortunate to have financial security and job flexibility. When the baby is born, she will be able to make her dream of being a mom her number one focus.
About Us
Our marriage has been filled with great adventure, including many amazing experiences through travel, yet everyday life is very relaxed and easy for us. We have a true partnership that has only gotten stronger as a result of infertility. The one thing we have most looked forward to is having children. We can't wait for the new responsibilities and adventures being parents will bring and plan to cherish every minute of it!
We live in a suburban neighborhood in Alexandria, Virginia, in a newer three bedroom home with a fenced in yard. Our community is a great place to raise children with many families, excellent schools, parks, and bike trails, yet we are just a few minutes away from the culture and history of Washington DC.
We feel very fortunate to have family and friends who support us in our lives together. Both of our families are grounded in values and faith, yet laid back, and incredibly warm and caring. We have great fun, especially with our three nieces and nephew, who can’t wait for a new cousin. Each winter we go to Walt Disney World with Amy’s family, and each summer, we enjoy a week at the beach with Dave’s family. We can’t wait to share these experiences, as well as birthdays, holidays and all of our favorite family traditions with a child. Everyone is incredibly excited about a new baby, especially since he or she will be first grandchild for Dave's parents.

Through several friends of ours who have adopted, we have seen what an enriching experience it can be for all of those whose lives it touches.
