Liz & Brad
Hi! We’re Brad and Liz.
We are so excited you are considering us to provide a loving home to your child. We know this must be a difficult decision for you. We hope that our promise to provide a safe, fun and loving home for your child gives you comfort. We respect the strength you have shown in making this loving yet difficult decision and will keep you and your baby in our prayers.
We have always known that we wanted to have children as part of our family. Even before we got married we discussed the possibility of adoption as a way to build our family. After struggling with years of infertility, we decided that adoption was truly the best way for us to build our family. We were blessed in 2005 with the adoption of our son Parker and in 2007 our family grew with the adoption of our daughter Olivia. We are so excited for the opportunity to love another child. Thank you for giving us the chance to make our dreams of adding to our family come true.

About Us
We have been together for ten years and married for eight. We met at the hospital where Brad was finishing medical school and Liz was working as a nurse. Brad was immediately struck by Liz’s warm smile and the caring attention she gave to her patients. Liz was drawn to Brad’s beautiful blue eyes and his comforting way with his patients. Soon after meeting, we began dating. It wasn’t long before we fell in love and knew we were meant to be together forever. We have so much love for each other and are excited about sharing this love with your child.
We have many shared interests. We are passionate about preservation of the environment. We frequently pick up fresh flowers and organic produce at our local market. We use products in our home that are chemical free, environmentally friendly and child-safe.
Maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle is important to us. We enjoy exercising and cooking healthy meals together. Brad competes in triathlons and loves to see his family cheering for him at the finish line. Liz just ran her first 5 k with Brad at her side cheering her on.
Although our lives are centered around our children, we also make an effort to have occasional date nights. Whether sharing popcorn at the movies, browsing for new plants for our garden at Home Depot, or sharing a dessert at the bookstore, we always have a good time.

About Liz
Liz lights up the room wherever she goes. I was instantly drawn to her the moment I met her. She is warm, funny and outgoing. I admire that she worked her way through college at Eastern Michigan University to receive her nursing degree. When I first met her at the hospital, I was struck by how patient and kind she was with her patients. I have heard many of them say how much her words and caring attention have meant to them. Although Liz loves her job, she works outside the home about one day a week and dedicates the rest of her time to her family.
Liz is a fantastic mother. She loves to involve our children in everyday activities such as making dinner and planting in the garden. Our son looks forward to helping break the “crunchy noodles” when we have spaghetti. Our daughter loves to dig holes in the garden to help Liz to plant flowers. Liz really takes pleasure in the simple joys of day-to-day life with our children.
Liz also enjoys reading, going to the movies, and taking yoga and pilates classes. She is passionate about her garden and loves to feed our family the organic fruits and vegetables she grows. Liz also loves to take pictures and to preserve happy family memories by making scrapbooks. She is passionate about life and her family and has so much to offer your child.
About Brad
Brad attended medical school at the University of Michigan. He works as an emergency medicine physician at a nearby hospital. He works an average of four 10 hour shifts a week and is never on call. When his shift is over, his work is done. Once he is home, he is one-hundred percent ours. Although Brad enjoys his work, having a family is by far the number one priority in his life.
Brad is my best friend. I know I can rely on him and trust him for anything. Not a day goes by that I don’t feel extremely loved and cared for by Brad. He adores our son and daughter and cannot wait to have another child. It has been a joy to watch Brad as a father.
Due to the flexibility of his work, Brad is often home when the children are awake. Several times a week, he loads Parker and Olivia in the bike trailer (with their matching blue and pink helmets, of course!) and takes them out for peanut butter and bagels for breakfast at Panera while Liz gets a chance to catch up on some well-deserved rest. The kids are treated like celebrities there while Brad is proud to be known simply as “Parker and Olivia’s dad.”
Brad enjoys training and competing in triathlons. We are always there to cheer him on. Brad is also a huge baseball fan. He loves taking our children to games and to play ball with them in the yard. I feel so lucky to have married a man who is not only a loving husband but also a great dad.

Our Home
We recently moved into a large house. It is four-thousand square feet and sits on nearly an acre of land. We have a large playset in our backyard on a thousand square-foot plot! It is a center of activity for the neighborhood kids. Our home is in a community that includes many trails and parks. We love taking walks as a family and visiting the local ponds. Just the other evening we saw five rabbits, several ducks and cranes, as well as a turtle. We especially like watching the baby geese and ducks grow throughout the spring and summer.
Living in Michigan, we are able to enjoy all of the seasons. In the winter, we love to take the kids sledding and sharing hot chocolate to warm up when we return home. In the summer, we go to several fairs and festivals. This year alone, we went to over three separate fireworks celebrations for the 4th of July. Liz even won a huge stuffed dog at one of the carnival games! When the leaves start to change colors, we know that carving pumpkins, trick-or-treating, and a visit to the cider mill is approaching. Our favorite local cider mill has a large wooden play train for the kids, ducks to feed, and an orchard for apple-picking as a family. A favorite with the kids are the freshly baked donuts and home-made carmel apples.

Our Values
We believe it is important to slow down and enjoy life and the time we have been given together as a family. We do not believe in over-scheduling ourselves. We focus on the things that keep us close. We make it a priority to eat meals together as a family. We feel blessed to have our children and think they deserve to be our number one priority.
At our house, a typical weekday may look like other people’s weekend. We often spend hours a day outside playing on the playset with the kids. When we get hungry, we can grab apples, pears and berries off of our fruit trees and share them on the deck. After dinner, we often gather around our firepit and cook s’mores. After cleaning all the dirt accumulated in all the day’s fun, we pile the kids into the double stroller (known as “Bob”) and go for a family walk. After books and kisses goodnight, Liz and I have time to laugh and recount the day’s highlights.
Our Extended Family
We value our extended family. Brad’s parents live close by on a large lake. They are very excited about our plans to adopt another child and are eager to welcome a new baby into the family. Several of our extended family members have also added to their families through adoption. We are blessed with five young nephews. We cherish our time with them and know that they would love to have a new cousin to play with. Our extended family gets together throughout the year. Whether it is a summertime family reunion on the lake or a Christmas get-together, we always have a good time.
Our Promise
Thank you for taking the time to get to know us. We promise to give your child all the love, attention and opportunity they deserve. Your child will always know how much you cared for them and you will forever be a special part of our lives.
With Love and Admiration,
Brad and Liz
