Dear Birthmom,
Hello, we are Peter and Danielle. We feel privileged that you are taking the time to get to know about us.
We met 16 years ago and have been married for 12 years. We tried to conceive a child of our own for 8 years and because of our infertility decided adoption would be right for us. We adopted our son Matthew last year and have always wanted him to have a brother or sister, just like we both had growing up.
We bought our house 10 years ago with children in mind. The schools are great, the neighborhood is filled with other children and we are close to Danielle's sisters and mom. Over the past years we have been fortunate enough to save enough money to provide a good life for our family. We will raise your child in a loving, happy, secure and nurturing home, surrounded by loving family and friends. Danielle is a stay-at-home mom and is enjoying taking Matthew for walks to the park, swim lessons and to Gymboree Play Time, watching him grow every day and nurturing him along the way. Peter works only 15 minutes away from home and is always home in time for dinner. We want to continue the family traditions that we grew up with that gave us the security and self-esteem to grow and learn and thrive.
Peter was raised in Northern California and came to Southern California to start his career. He graduated with a degree in Business Administration and has gone on to get his MBA. Peter has worked for the same company for over 10 years and enjoys his work! He is the Vice President of Finance and handles the company’s finances and keeps them on budget. Peter's parents are still living in Northern California and his brother, wife and their 2 kids also are living up North. We visit them at least 3 - 4 times a year and they visit us in Southern California many times throughout the year as well. Peter enjoys golf when he can, and going to the gym. Peter has wanted to be a Dad for as long as I can remember and all kids seem to gravitate towards him. Our nephew and niece think he is the best Uncle around, especially when he wrestles with them and gives them horsy rides.
Danielle was raised in Southern California and graduated with her degree in Accounting. Danielle was an accountant and worked at the same company for 10 years before quitting to stay home to raise a family. Danielle’s youngest sister is a newlywed. Her and her husband have two wonderful and very playful dogs. Danielle is very close to her older sister since they are only 13 months apart. Danielle’s sisters and mom all live 25 minutes from us and we celebrate birthdays and get together often, especially because they want to visit their nephew and grandchild. Danielle’s mom is a school teacher, her younger sister a lawyer and older sister is in sales. Danielle’s parents have one grandchild and are excited at the prospect that they soon may have the opportunity to welcome another grandchild whom they can love, cherish and spoil. Danielle enjoys walking and doing Yoga. She has a tight knit group of friends who all have children of their own and they all can’t wait to have another playmate.
Our relationship is built on a strong foundation of love and respect. We listen to each others ideas and opinions. We were raised a lot alike. We attended private schools and our parents were there to teach us morals and values which is what we take with us through every step in our lives. We enjoy traveling both to Hawaii, the East Coast where we have extended family, and even to the mountains and deserts. We enjoy playing board games at night, watching movies, and relaxing on the paddle boat in the lake. We get together often with Danielle’s cousins who live within an hours drive of one another and we have our ‘Cousin Get Together’ as we like to call them. We enjoy dinner, charades, and trivial pursuit. We enjoy getting together to catch up on what’s going on in everyone’s life and Danielle’s cousins have children of their own and we enjoy watching the little ones play and interact with one another. We look forward to welcoming an addition to our family, to be able to teach him or her about life and all the joys it has to offer.
We cannot imagine our lives without children.
