We have been friends for 15 years; we met while living in Turkey and serving in the Air Force we worked in the same squadron and spent every day together even after work we would do to dinner, dancing or just hangout and talk. We have been married for a little over 9 years now. Because we were truly friends before we started dating our friendship is the foundation of our relationship and the strength of our marriage.
Allen is the youngest of four; a brother and two sisters. He was born and raised in a small town in Georgia. Growing up he was very active; He was a boy scout, played baseball, football and the trumpet in school, and participated in church activities. Allen was also part of a local historical reenactment society. Allen is my best friend he has a wonderful sense of humor; he can make me laugh even in my darkest hours. Allen is extremely supportive and encouraging to help me obtain my dreams and goals. Allen is very creative; he can design and create anything. Allen grew up with a rich since of history, tradition and good Christian values
Cheryl is the middle child of three, a sister and a brother. She was born in Colorado but spent most of her childhood in California. Growing up she was always on the go; Cheryl was a girl scout, took dance lessons, and played catcher on the city softball team. Cheryl was also part of a baton twirling troop, and the drama club at school. Cheryl and I have had a lot of exciting adventures together, she is strong and independent which is what I love about her. Cheryl recently completed her college degree, I admire her for her hard work and dedication; working full-time and attending school full-time was defiantly a testament to her strengthen and determination.

We love to entertain and throw big parties throughout the year for our family and friends Halloween is our big bashes for the year! We enjoy decorating the whole house from the gypsy fortune teller’s room to the singing pumpkins on the stairs; we even have a Halloween Tree. With our Family, Friends, and Co-Works we usually have around 20 families attend a night filled with spooky stories, games, a lot of food, a costume contest, and a safe and fun night.

Our Home…
We both love history and we wanted to live in an older home, in 2007 we fell in love with this beautiful 100 year old farm house. Allen has spent the last year and half remodeling several rooms, with his carpentry, and woodworking skills he has created some beautiful built-in bookcases and cabinetry. I have very little carpentry skills so I was in charge of paint colors (until we had to paint one room 3 times) now it is a joint effort.
We are very proud of our home with 4 bedrooms and a large backyard, there is plenty of room for a child to play and explore. Allen is looking forward to building a play area; we can’t wait to have a Pirate Ship jungle gym or a Princess Castle Playhouse. We believe that by playing outdoors children gain confidence and become more motivated to try new things, it also builds self-esteem in young children. So it is import to us to have a fun environment for our child to play and grow. The family room is where we spend most of our down time and lazy days, enjoying a good movie, reading by the fire or playing the Wii.
Cheryl is developing a green thumb, she planted her first vegetable garden this year and it is thriving. We are enjoying fresh vegetables every night at dinner.
Where We Live…
Our home is in a small town, with an active community. There are 3 large parks with great playgrounds. There is a Petting Zoo, 4 Public Pools with Slides, and an Aquatic Maze; there is even a Splash Pool for little ones. We have all kinds of sports, exercise classes, summer camps and horseback riding. During the Holidays we like to go to the Pumpkin Patch, Corn Maze and cut your own Christmas tree farm. Our State has over 50 State Parks that allows us to enjoy hiking, fishing, camping, and boating. We are also centrally located near 3 bigger cities so we are just a short drive to a six flags, aquariums, zoos, museums.
Our Family & Friends…
Allen’s mom and dad have been married 46 years. Allen’s mom was a schoolteacher for over 20 years; and is now enjoying retirement because she now has time to quilt. Allen’s dad owned and operated a service station most of his life, he is retired and he can’t stand not to do something so he has taken up mowing every yard in the neighborhood. Allen’s great-grandmother is 95 years young and still lives on the farm that has been in their family for over 100 years.
Cheryl’s parents have been married for 30 years. Cheryl’s dad was a diesel mechanic all his life; he is now retired and is enjoying his new woodcarving hobby. Cheryl’s mom worked for an insurance company for many years; also retired she spends her days in the gardens.
Since we have such a large extended family we take vacations across the US to visit relatives in Kentucky, Georgia, Colorado, Oklahoma, Missouri, Kansas, Texas and California. We love spending time with our Niece and Nephews. Every chance we get we take them to Disneyland, Six Flags, Marine World, a Museum, the Aquarium or anywhere else their little heart’s desire.
Our Parenting Values…
- We believe that children should be raised with love and understanding, guidance and teaching with plenty of patience and good humor.
- We believe in teaching children, from the earliest age, the wonders of learning, the value of family, and the importance of kindness and respect.
- We believe that embracing ones natural creative and artistic side is important; so we will encourage our child to explore and be creative in his/her own way.
- We believe in teaching children responsibility, which means we will do chores together such as taking out the trash and make beds.
- We believe that you love and support a child when he/she struggles, and applaud them when they do well and guide them when they make mistakes.
- We believe above all else; you love your child unconditionally every day
Family history is an important part of our lives, so we want our child to know their adoption story and the wonderful way we became a family. We are excited about fulfilling our dreams of parenthood and are grateful that you would consider allowing us to welcome your baby into our lives.
