Kari and Adam
Dear Birthmother,
The child that comes into our home will grow up knowing it was your courage, strength and unconditional love that brought us together as a family. We can not begin to understand the emotions you are going thru, we can only hope to be of some comfort in your journey with our promise that your child will be cherished and celebrated every day.
Our love story
Adam and I met 12 years ago and it was love at first sight. We have been happily married for 7 years. We knew before we got married we would have face some challenges in creating a family, and after 2 years of infertility treatments we made the best decision of our lives…we decided to adopt! We adopted our son Owen 4 years ago and we loved every part of the adoption process. We feel so blessed to be able to add to our family thru the miracle of adoption. Adam and I have a marriage based on the belief that family comes first. We have a very strong Christian faith and mutual respect for each other. Over the past 12 years our love has grown and changed in ways we never imagined and believe with the foundation we have built together will last us a lifetime. After 7 years of marriage we still hold hands and are still best friends.
Our home
We are fortunate enough to live in a very large 3 bedroom home, within walking distance to several large parks that have ducks, turtles and nature trails for hiking. We have 2 adorable dogs named Clyde and Blousey who love children so much we are pretty sure they think they are children! Adam and I believe very strongly in the importance of good education and are thrilled with the award winning schools in our area. Living in southern California has many perks! We are an hour away from the fun snow days of the mountains and only 10 minutes away from the ocean for a day of fun in the sun!
Our families
We are very blessed to have both of our families close enough to see often. Both of our families are very supportive and play a huge roll in our lives. Adam has an older brother and a younger sister and parents who have been happily married for 35 years! Kari’s is an only child and is very close to her mom who lives only 4 miles away. There are 5 grandchildren in our family all under the age of 4! Our time spent with our family is very important and special to us. Both of our families have been great role models to us, and they are all very excited and extremely supportive of our decision to adopt again.
Special Moments
We try to take time off of our busy lives to focus on the small special moments of life. Some of our best days are the days we spend as a family. We love to go to the mountains to visit family, go to the beach (sometimes even dog beach!) or spend the day at Disneyland. Kari’s favorite time of year is Fall, so every year we go apple picking and to a real pumpkin patch to pick a pumpkin off the vine! Adam loves to take the time to find the perfect Christmas tree every year and he spend the whole night decorating it with tons and tons of lights. We really enjoy the simple moments in live too, like walks around the neighborhood, playing in sprinklers and lazy Saturday mornings that usually include homemade chocolate chip pancakes! Whether it is a big holiday or simple Sunday we take each day as a gift and try to make it a wonderful memory.
Adam
I truly feel I am the luckiest girl in the world to be married to Adam. He is the most amazing man I have ever met and I fall more in love with him every day. He is honest, loyal, funny and always puts his family first. Adam is the person everyone wants to be friends with! He can be very supportive and caring, and can crack a joke any given moment. Adam is a very hard worker and an excellent provider and is able to make his own work schedule so he does not miss one special moment! He loves classic cars and takes our son to car shows all the time, he loves motorcycles and sports. Watching Adam be a Daddy is the best of all. No matter what Adam is doing with our son he gives it his all. My heart fills with joy as I listen to Adam tuck Owen in at night and they talk about their day together. They are best of friends who do everything together. Adam has the perfect balance of discipline and humor and I thank God everyday for bringing us together. There is no one else on this earth I would want to share my life with.
Kari
You will never meet anyone as genuine and caring as Kari. She has a wonderfully warm and nurturing spirit who always finds the good in everyone. Her love for children led her to be a preschool teacher for 10 years before becoming a stay at home mom. Kari loves to bake cookies and cupcakes and loves to decorate like crazy for all holidays! Her biggest passion in life is being a mom. Kari does her best to make everyday magical for Owen, whether it be making homemade play dough, building forts in the living room, making mud pies out back or jumping in the car in their pj’s to look at neighborhood decorations at night, she makes everyone feel so special. When Kari became a mother it added a hole new layer of love and devotion to her. She believes everyday should be lived to the fullest!
Owen
Owen is a very sweet, kind, gentle, fun loving 4 year old! He is full of wonder and is so excited to become a big brother. Owen loves baseball and spends most of his time trying to get anyone who comes over to play! He loves to be outside, often going in the back yard as soon as he gets up! He loves to bring treats out to our dogs and gives them a kiss good morning. We love Owen very much and are so excited to see him be the big brother we know he was meant to be.
Our lives are filled with so much love and joy, but we do know that there is still a piece missing…a daughter. Our hearts are filled with so many warm and wonderful memories from our childhoods and we cannot wait to create those same memories with another child. Adam and I look forward to all the joys and happiness a new child brings, but we also realize the responsibility and sacrifice needed in raising a child. Your child will be brought up in a safe, loving home built on Christian faith, strong values and respect for others. We will create a life for your child where every door of opportunity is opened and they are able to follow their dreams with confidence. Your child will be exposed to all the world has to offer with never ending love and support.
