Choose A Family : Parent Profile
Nancy & Michael
Dear Birth Parents,
From the deepest part of our hearts, we admire you and your strength for choosing the path of adoption for your baby. We cannot imagine how difficult this decision must be, and we value your courage and selflessness. We want to say how thankful we are that you are taking the time to read our profile and learn about us and our home.
Our names are Michael and Nancy. We both feel that family is the most important thing in life and have always wanted a home full of pitter pattering footsteps and lots of little giggles. After struggling with trying to conceive, we decided to start building our family through adoption. We realized that God had something else planned for us and we are so excited about this decision. It is very clear to us that our journey has led us to this point, and we truly feel privileged to be starting our family by adopting a baby. We have so much love to give your child and we relish the opportunity and responsibility to provide them with a life full of love, laughter, and happiness.
We can assure you that your child will be taught good values, right from wrong, polite manners, and respect for others. We will always provide positive encouragement for your child and we promise to do everything in our power to provide a wonderful life for him or her. We will support them and give them confidence to follow their dreams and help them to make the most of the God-given gifts and talents that they will have been born with. If you choose us, we will do everything it takes to make sure that your child has a blessed life, full of opportunities and wonderful memories.
Your child will know that they are special and how much you love and care for them and wanted to give them the very best in life. Your child will know that it was your selflessness and unconditional love for them that allowed us the opportunity to have them be a part of our lives. We promise to raise your baby to know the love you had for him or her in choosing adoption and you will never be forgotten.
Thank you for taking the time to read our letter and profile. We want you to know that if we are the family you choose, we will cherish your child for the rest of our lives. We will be forever grateful to you for this precious gift you have given us. You too, will always be held dear to our hearts.
Sincerely,
Michael and Nancy

Our Life Together
We live in Northern California in a safe friendly neighborhood, and we know almost every neighbor on our street and are friends with many of them. We own a three bedroom house at the end of a street that has several fruit producing trees in the front and backyards. The backyard is shaded by a couple of large trees keeping the play area cool in the hot summer days.
We met through an online service chatting for several months before we decided to meet in person. In that time we discovered that we had a lot of the same beliefs and desires in life. Michael and I married in the spring of 2003. In the next seven years together we have built our lives so we are in control of our finances by remove any debt we had. Although, we are not rich we have what we need and can enjoy life without too much worry.
Our small family consists of the two of us and three dogs. Our three dogs are Tucker, Maggie, and Lucy Lou. One by one, they became part our family through adoption and quickly become an important member of our family.
We try to keep our life simple so we can enjoy it to the fullest. It may sound a little corny, but we find ourselves happiest when we remember these few things:
- Never buy anything you want that you cannot afford to pay for with cash
- Life can be hard, but together we can get through anything
- Sometimes a day of rest is staying in our PJ’s watching movies and eating ice cream
- Some of life’s task take a little longer to complete than expected
- A smile can be found in the simplest moments.
- Laugh insanely, love truly and forgive quickly!

A Little About Michael
One of the first things that attracted me to Michael was his heart. He has a very giving heart. He often goes out of his way just to help someone in need.
Think of a big kid and you have Michael. The bigger the toy the bigger the smile is on his face. He has a love for old cars, which he inherited from his father. He is happy spending time walking though an old car show or being part of car run. When he was a small child, it would not be a surprise to find him sleeping on a shop creeper while his father worked on one of his cars. He learned a lot about automobiles from his dad and has dreams of one day rebuilding a 1938 Pontiac.
Michael has a side of adventure. He enjoys the fun of his Harley, and the freedom he feels when he rides. He is able to escape from life’s daily stress just by putting on his helmet and going for little a ride. . It gives him the opportunity to be spontaneous which is not often available in his everyday life. On rare occasions, he will meet up with his friends for an afternoon or all day run.
He discovered his love for driving a couple of years into our marriage when the end of his current career opened a new door to getting his license to drive trucks. He is a hard worker and since he started working as a truck driver he continues to find work even in the winter when the local driving jobs stop. Michael often mentions his work is more like play than a job. He never turns down the opportunity to work even if the call to work is his morning wake up call. He enjoys his job so much he sometime feels guilty.
Michael can fix anything. Just give him the right tools and whatever needs attention will be in working order in no time. If it is something he has never done before, he never gives up. Michael is a very determined person. When Michael needs to know about something, he will endlessly perform research until he is satisfied he has all the information he needs to make the best decisions.
He enjoys camping, gardening, golfing, and splitting wood in his spare time.

A Little About Nancy
One of Nancy's passions is the ocean. She developed this passion at an early age from the regular visits to Bodega Bay with her mother and two sisters. She loves to walk on the beach, collect shells, play in tide pools, snorkel, and scuba dive. Her first dive was a discovery dive in Mexico where she found out she really was part fish. As soon as she returned to the States, she got certified for open water diving and went on to become a Dive Master.
Her second passion came to life after she married Michael. She returned to school and went through a culinary program. She loves to cook and bake, and has a hard time choosing which one she likes better. She will often bake cookies, cupcakes, or a cheese cake for Michael, friends, neighbors, or family members just to see them smile.
Her love of food developed when she became an adult. As a child, she was a selective eater, and the only thing her mother could guarantee she would eat (of all things) was spinach. But when she started her career installing and teaching how to use software applications, she started traveling to many different States. The few years of traveling she experienced and enjoys the many flavors of the local foods.
Her current job as a Project Coordinator allows her to set her own schedule and fits perfectly into their life. When she is not driving around her good friend that no longer can, she volunteers her time at a culinary academy or the local food kitchen for the homeless.
She has a big heart will often do things for people and expect nothing in return. She gets more pleasure from helping someone than receiving a gift. She believes you can learn something from everyone if you are open to seeing the lesson. She enjoys nature and feels the most comfortable when engulfed in it.
She also enjoys sewing, crocheting, reading, gardening, camping, swimming or just go for a long walk.

Thank you for taking the time to get to know us a little better. We hope our profile helps you decide if we are the right family for your baby. We are a loving couple who wants nothing more than to share our love with a child.
