Leeanna and Troy
Thank you for taking the time to get to know us. We are Troy & Leeanna and we are grateful and excited about becoming parents. We have been married for over three years and cannot wait for the sound of little feet to fill our home.
Dear Birthmother
We are Troy and Leeanna and we are truly honored that you are reading our letter and considering us as adoptive parents for your child. The decision you are facing is extremely hard and we commend you for your courage and strength in making such a selfless decision. You are truly a blessing to us, because your decision will allow us to make our family complete. We want you to know that your child will be brought up in a loving, safe and caring home. Family is extremely important to us and we plan to raise your child with the same morals and values our parents instilled in us. We are so thankful to you and can only hope to be chosen by you to care for and love the amazing gift of your child.
About Leeanna
I was born in Santa Barbara, CA. And although, I only have one brother, Daniel, I have a huge
family. I am one of 12 cousins and would not have it any other way. I remember when we were
kids, my grandfather was a counselor at a Junior high and would bring home desks and
school supplies and my cousins and I would go in my grandparents shed and keep ourselves
entertained for hours. I have so many fond memories of growing up and want our child to
have the same.
Troy and I have 3 nieces and a nephew (Ashley, Marissa, Taylor and Dylan) and want our child to experience all of the joys of having cousins to grow up with and spend time with. Family is extremely important to both Troy and I. We want our child to grow up in a loving, caring home. I want to be able to share my love of dance and Troy’s love of sports with our child. I cannot wait to experience all of the joys and challenges of being a parent. For 10 years I took dance class. Ranging from ballet, flamenco to broadway jazz. Although, I don’t dance anymore, I love going to musicals. I also watch a ton of home improvement shows and even got Troy to jump on the band wagon. We have done quite a few home improvements around our house together. Decorating has always been a passion of mine, even though, I have no formal training. I have worked for a refractive surgeon for 8 years and have always been in the medical field. Nothing is more rewarding than a happy patient.
About Troy
I was born in Santa Barbara, CA. The youngest of two boys. My brother Jeff was born in
Germany where my father was stationed while in the Army. As a child we spent most
summers at the beach. When it wasn’t quite beach weather we would go camping. I
love to be outdoors. When I was about 10 years old, my cousins moved to Colorado and
that opened a whole new world to outdoor sports. When we would visit, we would go
water skiing, fishing and white water rafting. I started playing sports at an early age and
still play softball every Tuesday. Throughout my childhood, I have played baseball,
basketball and soccer. My father was always a coach or assistant coach and I guess it
rubbed off because after I graduated high school, I was an assistant coach on my high
school baseball team for 7 years. Towards the end of high school and in college, I got
interested in graphic arts. I am now in the graphic arts and printing industry.
How We Met
We were introduced by a mutual friend. This was an accidental meeting. We both happened to be
at the same place at the same time. I like to tell this story, because If Troy were to tell it, well let’s just
say his memory is very different than mine. I happened to be out with one of my cousins and
Troy was with our mutual friend. For Troy, it was love at first sight. I like to tease him about that. I on
the other hand, had to be convinced he was the one. So for about 4 years, every time we ran into
one another, Troy would try to pursuade me to go out with him. During this game of cat & mouse, we
found out that my Uncle is Troy’s Godfather. Small world. Apparently, My Uncle and Troy’s parents
grew up together. Now, Troy was really convinced that we were meant to be. So much so, that every
time he saw me, regardless of who I was with with, he would tell them he was going to marry me.
It became a joke after a while, so that every time I ran into him, I would say, there’s my husband.
Well, who’s laughing now. His persistence paid off and I finally agreed to have dinner with him. He made me an offer I couldn’t refuse. He said, just go to dinner with me and if you never want to go out with me again, I will never bother you again. How could I say no to that. Dinner was great, and although it took me a little longer to get where Troy was at. I could not imagine my life without him. He is truly my best friend and partner in everything I do. I always ask him, how did you know way back when, that I was the one. His answer to me, is that he just knew. We now are ready to add to our union and know it is going to be the perfect fit.
Our Friends
We have surrounded ourselves with a great circle of friends. Most of whom we have known since
childhood. Our friends are part of our family and they play a crucial part in our lives. We love to
spend as much time together as possible. Our friends cannot wait for us to add to our already big
group. They know how much being parents means to us. This is just as exciting for them as it is for us.
