Bob and Lonee
Dear Birthmother,
Thank you for considering us as parents for your child. We know this cannot be an easy decision for you to make and we appreciate you taking the time to learn about us. We feel we will make excellent parents who will offer a loving, nurturing and positive home in which a child can thrive.
About Us –
We are Bob and Lonee. We met a week after New Year’s 2000 at a dinner party with mutual friends. We hit it off instantly. We found that we had many similarities in common. Even though we met as adults, we realized that we had lived within a few minutes of each other for several years, knew some of the same people, both attended the same college and both moved to the beach because of our love for the water. We share the same sense of humor and love for adventure. We were married in October of 2002 after nearly three years of dating.
We always wanted to have children. After nearly seven years of trying to conceive a child with unsuccessful results, we felt that adoption would be a great way to make our hopes of becoming parents a reality. Our hope was realized in October 2009 when our son Brock came into our lives through adoption. We have been incredibly blessed and are extremely grateful to Brock’s birthparents for giving us the opportunity to become parents. We would love nothing more than to continue our journey of parenthood and share our lives with a second child.
We are passionate about education and have already put together an educational fund for our children as well as our nieces and nephews.
We live in a neighborhood five minutes from the city, but in an area that is peaceful and surrounded by wildlife. We live in a six-bedroom house with ample room for the kids to run around.
We are sports enthusiasts and enjoy participating in and attending as many sporting events as possible. We are diehard UCLA fans as well as Lakers and Dodgers supporters.
We really enjoy traveling and try to explore new destinations on every excursion. We always choose offbeat-type vacations such as attending the world’s largest tomato fight in Spain and sleeping in an ice hotel in Quebec. We have done everything from rappelling down waterfalls in Costa Rica to searching for the giant tortoises in the Galapagos Islands to luging down mountains in New Zealand. We plan on taking the kids all over the globe so they can experience everything this world has to offer.
About Lonee –
I grew up in San Diego in a large family. I have two sisters and a brother. I was raised on what most people would consider a farm, with horses, dogs, chickens, turtles and even a peacock! We always did a lot together as a family. I remember taking trips to Canada and Acapulco and everyone piling into our dune buggy and going off on some wild adventures.
I love children and chose a job out of college that was perfect for me, teaching. I received a teaching credential and taught elementary school for several years. In addition to working with kids in the classroom, I’ve also enjoyed teaching piano.
I am now a stay-at-home mom and am involved in Mommy and Me and music classes with Brock. I find it important to expose him to as many new things as possible. I have several friends with kids and enjoy meeting up with them for play dates on a regular basis. We have season passes to the zoo and enjoy getting out as much as we can. I can’t wait for our future baby to join us!!
About Bob –
I grew up in Los Angeles. I have an older brother with whom I am extremely close. I love athletics and enjoy playing sports of all kinds. When I was growing up, my brother and I played many sports together. I was involved in everything from basketball to football to tennis.
I love to make people laugh, especially kids! I’ve even been known to dress up in costumes and entertain Brock, his cousins and friends at birthday parties. I don’t mind making a fool of myself in order to make sure everyone has a good time!
I have always been extremely driven. I started my own business the day after my last final in college and my company has become the best in its industry.
I enjoy helping others succeed and spend hundreds of hours a year speaking to groups of young adults teaching them how to live up to their potential. This is my passion.
I am so thrilled to be a father and look forward to developing the close bond with my children that I have been so blessed to have with my family.
About Brock –
Brock is the greatest joy of our lives. He is an extremely sweet, gregarious baby. He is always smiling! He lights up a room whenever he’s in it. People seem to always congregate around Brock. He is very loving and gives his mommy and daddy kisses and hugs all the time. He will undoubtedly be a great big brother!
Family and Friends –
Both of our families live in Southern California which makes it convenient to get together often. One of our favorite activities is a yearly getaway. Our most recent trip was to Lake Tahoe and we all had a blast! No holiday or birthday passes without the entire family getting together to celebrate. The grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins can’t wait to spend time and share the love with the new baby!
We have a large circle of friends and many of them have little kids too. We often plan barbecues, beach outings, pool parties and play dates at the park. We would love to have a new baby come join in on the fun!
We are very fortunate in our lives where everything has fallen into place, except the last piece of the puzzle which is our second child. We can’t wait to complete our family. We’re looking forward to providing a great life for our future daughter or son and are anxiously awaiting their arrival.
