Chris and Chris

Hello!! We are Chris and Chris. Thank you for taking the time to get to know us. We imagine that this is a difficult and important choice for you to make and we admire and respect your decision. We were both adopted and grew up feeling incredibly blessed that our birth parents had the courage and strength to give us to such loving families. We hope this letter gives you some insight into our lives, values and personalities and gives you some comfort that we will provide an incredibly loving, nurturing and happy home for your baby.

Why have we chosen to adopt?
It is obvious to us that we are meant to be together and to adopt a child. (our stories are very similar) Christopher was adopted and has a sister who is 6 years older that is his parents' biological child. Christine was adopted and has a brother 6 years older that is her parents' biological son. Chris's father and Christine's mother share the same birthday and even had polio at the same time as children. We are both grateful of our birth mother’s choice to give us the chance at life we have had. Since we’ve been together we have always felt when the time was right it would be our fate to adopt. And now is the time! We believe our experience of being adopted will give your child the best life possible. We have created an awesome life and home together. We are blessed with unconditional support from great friends and family.

How we met:
We met in 2000 at a Mardi Gras Parade Party in St. Louis, Missouri. We were introduced by Christine’s best friend and Christopher’s coworker and we instantly felt a connection. Our second date started at a St. Patty’s Day Parade (there are a lot of parades in St. Louis!) and we have been together ever since. We both love to travel so right away we grew closer by taking some great trips together.

Christopher grew up in Texas and is not a big fan of snow. It was always Christine’s dream to live on the beach so we moved from St. Louis to Florida six months after we met. We have been very fortunate to have many of our friends and family follow us – it was easy to convince them after one vacation with us! We got engaged on a vacation in Jamaica and we got married on our favorite beach.

A note from Christine:
I have been working in the mortgage and real estate industry for several years now. My career has always been important to me but at the same time I have always balanced my life with friends and family. I am very much a go getter. When I make up my mind I make things happen. I have an enthusiasm for life and people and I will try almost anything once. I take pride in my quick wit and my ability to tell a story that will leave the room in tears from laughter. I enjoy art, travelling, reading and cooking. I love being spontaneous and adventurous. I have always known I wanted to adopt a child. I was also inspired by my parent’s choice to adopt and my brother’s choice to adopt. I will give unconditional love to my child and raise him or her to be honest, respectful and to have a zest for life. My parents are retired and live in Florida – they are very excited to become grandparents again.

About Christine from Christopher:
Christine is my best friend and soul mate. She is such a generous and loyal person and her laugh lights up and fills the room. She is extremely adventurous, spontaneous and outgoing. She is so kind and thoughtful. I have had the best birthdays ever since I have known her. I have done things and been places I never thought I would because of her. She loves to vacation! Christine is very smart and honest. Like it or not she tells it like it is and gives great advice. Anyone who knows her knows they can count on her to be there for them unconditionally. She gives me so much strength and peace. I believe she has so much to offer a child. She will raise a very happy baby!

A note from Christopher:
Currently I own a Yoga and fitness studio on the beach in Florida. Fortunately, I get to do what I love for a living. I like to laugh, travel, read, listen to and play music. I love my cat of 20 years, Sage. I enjoy taking care of our home and hanging out with our friends and family. I have several musical instruments, art supplies and books around the house and I can’t wait to share them with our child. I grew up in a family of teachers. My Dad is an artist and teacher so I grew up around a lot of talented and creative people. My mother was a bilingual kindergarten teacher and is now an Episcopal priest. We are excited that my parents have decided to move to Florida from Texas to be closer to us and our family to be.

About Christopher from Christine:
Let me tell you a little bit about Christopher…..without hesitation I can say that he’s the kindest, most loving, patient and warm-hearted partner anyone can ever wish for.  He’s been devoted to us right from the very start.  I think he is the original “glass half-full” guy! He is the kind of friend that you will have for life; his closest friends he has had since childhood. I feel fortunate to be with him every day and he makes me a better person daily.   

Christopher was raised in a warm, loving and supportive family, making him who he is today.  I believe Chris will be a wonderful father…..the kind of Dad that enjoys each and every moment.  He will most definitely show our child the importance of kindness, patience, understanding and love for others.  He will be a blessing in any child’s life.

Our Home:
We live in a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom home in a residential neighborhood minutes away from the beach. We live in a community that has that small town feeling but is also very close to major cities. Parks and community centers are within walking distance with many sports, pool, and community activities. We believe it’s a perfect location to raise a child and we plan on making our home the perfect home for our child – a home where all the neighborhood kids would love to hang out. In fact, we purchased our home specifically because we knew it would be a great place to raise a child. We love where we live and plan on being here for a very long time.

Our Promise to You:
We will do everything we can to create a great life for the child we are fortunate enough to adopt.  We promise to provide a joyful and secure environment for a child who will be loved very much and given every opportunity to grow into a happy, confident, capable, and caring adult.

We look forward to offering a child the opportunity to grow up in a house full of love and letting them experience life while providing guidance along the way.   We feel it is important for a child to know how much their birthmother has given them.  It takes a tremendous amount of courage and strength to allow another family to raise your child and we will always honor and respect you for that.

FUN FACT:
Yes, our names are the same and we really do go by Chris & Chris. It’s always funny to us to watch people expressions when we introduce ourselves and we catch ourselves saying “Yes, we know, our names are the same”.
