Clint & Courtney

Dear Birth Mother,
There is absolutely no doubt in our minds that it is truly a miracle every time a child enters the world. As we begin this journey to complete our family, no words can possibly express how grateful we are that you are considering us to parent your daughter. Please be assured that your unbelievable strength, courage and selflessness at such a difficult time in your life will never be forgotten. We want you to know that this little miracle is already growing within the hearts of our family as we wait to love her. We hold adoption very close to our hearts and would be touched and honored to have the opportunity to share with you our story, our family and our promise to you to be the best parents we can be.

Our History…
Our story begins as college sweethearts. We met almost 18 years ago at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Clint was a finance major and Courtney was a broadcast news journalism major. When we met, there was an instant bond between us. Our lives seemed to mirror one another; from our faith, to our family, to our upbringing, to our work ethic, and our passion to live life to the fullest and not take a moment for granted. We dated through college and soon after had a fairy tale wedding, including a horse and carriage ride after the church ceremony (which Courtney dreamed of ever since she was a little girl.) After 14 years of marriage, our love for one another is still as strong as ever.

We both started working right out of college. Although Courtney worked in the channel 9 newsroom in college, she found her niche working in the public relations field for non-profits in the area. Courtney worked for 7 years with the Girl Scouts which made an enormous impact on her, and she hopes to lead a Girl Scout troop someday. She is now a stay-at-home mom and enjoys every minute. Clint was hired in the computer consulting industry right out of college. He has grown in his expertise and has been working for Microsoft for more than 10 years.

After getting married, we bought our first house and tried to start a family. We soon found out we would have to turn to fertility treatment to conceive. Looking back at the challenges that went along with our infertility and disappointments, it has given us an amazing understanding of the wonderful blessings that we have been given: our three incredible boys! Soon after our third son was born, Courtney needed a medical procedure and can no longer conceive.

Through our years together, as we have experienced building our family and the challenges of infertility, we always felt adoption was a beautiful way to grow our family and it has a special place in our hearts. We are so excited to complete our family and would feel so blessed if we were chosen for your sweet baby girl.

There is so much we want to share with you. Please be sure to read the special note from a birth mother we are blessed know. We also made a short video about our family. Please go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sSvRjIRZidY&feature=youtu.be

A Bit about Courtney - from Clint
I feel so blessed to have Courtney in my life, and I'm amazed at how she gives her heart completely to everyone in her life. She is so loving and devoted to our children, our parents, our friends, and all who draw on her strength and love each day. She is a truly a beautiful person inside and out.

Courtney loves being a Mom and it just comes naturally to her. She always seems to find the perfect balance between supporting our boys to follow their dreams, comforting the bumps and bruises along the way, teaching respect and appreciation for life, laughing and loving in faith, and growing together as a family.

As a stay at home mom, Courtney wears a lot of hats daily including, mom, friend, teacher, coach…and also chef, nurse, chauffeur, and sometimes referee. As we have watched the boys growing up, whether it was finger painting, making snakes and bugs out of play-doh, or blowing bubbles and dancing to music, the days have always been full of fun and laughter. I know she would not trade it for the world.

Tid Bits on Courtney:

  • Courtney is Korean and French, and was born in New York.
  • Courtney loves to cook and bake. She is famous for her chocolate chip cookies and brownies. Oh, and her banana/pumpkin bread is off the charts!
  • Courtney is an only child and lucky to have step-siblings who were adopted.
  • Courtney LOVES horses and has ridden on and off all her life.
  • Courtney loves to fish with the boys. She once caught a 22 inch trout!

A Bit about Clint – from Courtney
Clint is the most wonderful husband and father a woman could ever imagine. I always joke with him saying that "he completes me," although I joke, it could not be further from the truth. He is my rock, my best friend and I could not imagine my life without him in it. He is also incredibly smart, witty, and he has a sense of humor that sends me in into a ball of laughter making my cheeks hurt! Although he can be very quiet, don't let his seriousness fool you. He can do an uncanny imitation of Barney, the purple dinosaur, and if the kids finish their whole dinner he will be the first to break into a jig singing our famous "Clean Plate Dance" song. I joke again… thank heavens he has a day job because I am not sure these talents would take him very far!

Clint is an incredibly hard worker and loves his job. He is currently Partner Manager at Microsoft and has been with the company for over 10 years. His passion to succeed and to do well has gained him much recognition in his work. We are so very fortunate that he has a stable job, in addition to wonderful medical benefits. Clint travels periodically, but a big perk of his job is that he is able to work from home. It is so nice to enjoy lunches and to see him throughout the day.

Tid Bits on Clint:

  • Clint was born in Iowa and has one sister.
  • Clint ran track and cross country in high school and loves to run.
  • Clint ran the CU mascot, Ralphie, a buffalo, in college.
  • Clint's could eat Mexican food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The spicier the better!
  • Clint sold educational books door-to-door to pay for college.

Meet our Boys…Jackson (12), Gavin (10), and Cameron (7)
Our three boys are "our world" and no words can describe our love for them. Although very different, they are all extremely loving, very respectful and full of curiosity. They have big dreams and we love supporting them in everything they do.

Jackson was our car/ truck man growing up. He loves to build Legos and is an amazing artist. He is a competitive year-round swimmer. He holds 4 pool records and his favorite stroke is butterfly. Jackson is very bright and does very well in school. He is a wonderful role model for his little brothers. He hopes to be a computer programmer or a dog trainer, and to swim in the Olympics when he grows up.

Gavin was all about crocodiles and reptiles in his early years. He has grown to love football and is a year-round swimmer as well. His favorite stroke is butterfly and is very dedicated to the sport. He loves to read and go fishing. Gavin is extremely easy going and is always the first to help around the house. When he grows up he hopes to be a dentist, and to also go to the Olympics and swim with his brother.

Cameron loves dinosaurs and has since he was itty bitty. He can tell you every species of dinosaur and whether or not it is a carnivore or herbivore. He is also a HUGE Star Wars fan. Cameron is following in his brother's footsteps and is one of the youngest swimmers on their swim team. His favorite stroke is the breaststroke. Cameron can light up the room with his warm personality and infectious laugh. He says he hopes to be a paleontologist when he grows up and to marry his mom.

Tid Bits on the Boys:
When we decided to move forward and adopt it was very important to us to know how the boys felt. When we asked them all individually, it just confirmed that our family has a whole lot of love to share!

Jackson's reply: "Yes, I say we go for it! And I want to help with EVERYTHING, including changing her diapers. And don't forget my specialty of making babies laugh by tickling them and by acting silly." (We will remember to get the changing diapers part in writing.)

Gavin's reply: "Well, God put an extra chair at our table and we need to fill it!" (We just loved his simple way of thinking…thank heavens we don't have a table for 15!)

Cameron's reply: "I think I should give our baby sister my room…because she needs a special place of her own." (Wow! I loved that his kind heart immediately was thinking of how to make her feel special and welcome.)

Home is where the Heart is…
We live in beautiful Colorado, where the view of the mountains never ceases to take our breath away. We live in a large 4 bedroom house in a beautiful neighborhood with mature trees and a huge, private, fenced in yard with a sandbox and swing set. We are in walking distance to the elementary, middle and high school, which are all top rated and award winning schools in the district. In addition, just beyond our backyard is a State Park, which has access to miles and miles of nature trails and a beautiful reservoir, where we do lots of biking, hiking and fishing. Our church is right down the road and we have access to numerous parks and belong to two different pools. There is also the Denver Zoo, the Aquarium, The Children's Museum, The Museum of Nature and Science and many other fun places that we visit often very close by.

We can't forget to mention, that we are lucky to have some of the best ski resorts just a short car ride away. The boys have been fortunate to learn to ski at a very early age and we think it is great! During the summer, the mountains are just as much as an escape. It has become a family tradition to visit an amazing working dude ranch each summer. We stay in a wonderful cabin, ride horses, fish, hike, tube down rivers and explore! It is wonderful family time that we cherish.

Our Extended Family…
We are truly blessed to have the grandparents and a great grandmother here in Colorado, and they are very involved in our lives. We have a huge family and we love it! Whether it is a fun sleepover, breakfast at The Pancake House, a trip to the mountains to cook s'mores and sit around a camp fire, or simply to read a book, it is so special that the boys are able to spend such quality time with all of them. Unbelievably, this will be the grandparent's first and only granddaughter, so they are just as excited as we are and can't wait to spoil her!

In addition to our extended family, we also have two fur-babies that get loved on every day -- Lucy, a Cocker Spaniel and Sadie, an Australian Cattle Dog that we rescued. We also have three beta fish, Star, Blue and Rainbow, but they seem to keep to themselves most of the time.

Thoughts on Clint and Courtney (from a birth mom)…
I met Courtney and Clint shortly after I learned I was 5 months pregnant. Courtney knew my Mom through the swim team and was looking for someone to nanny part time for her three boys. Our relationship grew very quickly and soon I found myself relying on Courtney for love, advice and support during my difficult time, all of which was received. I came to know the Will family in a very close way and was immediately drawn to them due to their close knit and warm family. I placed my little boy with a wonderful adoptive family. While it was the most difficult decision I have ever made, I have been reassured countless times that it was the right thing to do. Courtney and Clint were wonderfully supportive of me throughout this time and I am so thankful to have them in my life.

Courtney is a strong mother and has raised her children to be incredibly loving and polite. Clint is a warm person with a wonderful sense of humor, which is something that all three boys inherited! Not only are Courtney and Clint loving and supportive parents, they are wonderful friends. They never failed to express to me their understanding of my difficult situation and they always had something encouraging to say. I know that this love and thoughtfulness will extend to you, as well. Not only will Courtney and Clint make wonderful parents for your beautiful baby girl, they will support you and love you through this hard time and help you to understand all of the blessings that will come to you as a result of your trials. Courtney and Clint taught me that there is always something to smile about, and I have found that the Will family presents five (soon to be six) reasons to do so.
