Birthmother Letter:
Thank you for taking the time to learn about us and our family. Your selfless act of putting your baby up for adoption clearly takes an incredible amount of courage and shows that you have an open heart and truly care about the well being of your baby. We want you to know that our home is warm and surrounded by loving families and friends. We believe that “Family Comes First” along with unconditional love, compassion, respect, and laughter. We can’t wait to become parents and share our blessings with a child.
Our Story:
We have been married for six years and had a plan of starting a family after about two years of being married. After trying for several years, we came to the conclusion that life doesn’t always go according to plan. Along with this, Desiree’s sister became ill within the last couple of years and basically had complete kidney failure due to her lifelong battle with diabetes. After her 2nd child, she lost complete function of her kidney. To portray just how selfless and loving Desiree is, she decided to donate her kidney so her sister could receive a new one. This is the bond that Desiree and her family have. She is truly an amazing person. The operation just happened in May of this year and both are doing great. We hope and pray every day that this will continue. Instead of settling for sadness, we decided to go this route of adoption and if chosen, know we will be excellent, loving parents and would be eternally grateful to you.
Desiree about Darren:
Darren is the love of my life and the most wonderful person I have ever met. He is so excited about adopting a child and all our friends and family members say he is so ready to become a father. I’m looking forward to the day when Darren can share his many interests and talents with our child. Darren came from a hard working family and very close to his five siblings. Darren learned the value of hard work, perseverance, and that “family always comes first” from his parents. Darren has a degree in business management and he is currently working as a Real Estate agent.
Darren about Desiree:
Desiree is the most selfless, caring, intelligent, loving, and giving person anyone could ask for, as portrayed with the giving of her kidney this year so her sister could live a better life. This is one of the reasons why I fell in love with her. She loves being around our 13 nephews and nieces and I cannot wait until the day I see her with our child so she can show them this beautiful world and give them the love and care they deserve. Desiree has an undergraduate degree in Applied Mathematics and masters in Engineering Management and currently working as an Engineering Manager for a major fortune 500 defense company.
Our Families & Friends:
Being part of a large family, we have a total of 13 nephews and nieces between the ages of 3 through 14 with plenty of love from supportive brothers, sisters, aunts, and uncles nearby. For us, Family always comes first and your child will have plenty of unconditional love.
We were both raised in loving families and we get together often. We have an annual family picnic at the same park for the last 39 years with an attendance of 100+ extended families composed of 3 to 4 generations., We enjoy getting together for all the major holidays, such as New Years, Easter, 4th of July, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. We all take turns at whose home the different holiday and occasions will be at. We typically hosts Mother’s day brunch at our home where all the Boys put together a fabulous brunch buffet. We also host our annual Turkey Golf Tourney the day after Thanksgiving which is a round of golf with the families in honor of Darren’s father & Uncle’s memory. We also enjoy attending our nephews and nieces school activities such musicals, plays, sports, and etc. We cannot wait to have our own family filled with love, fun, and laughter.
Our Hobbies & Interests:
Growing up on the West Coast, Darren has always loved the outdoors. Darren grew up playing football, basketball, baseball, and judo. Nowadays, Darren enjoys biking, hiking, and playing golf with family and friends.
Desiree has passion for adventures. She grew up playing basketball, volleyball, and martial arts but soon wanted to try more challenging sports. With support from her family and friends, she ventured on with bungee jumping, sky diving, rock climbing, and riding motorcycle. Nowadays, her passion is learning how to play golf and reading books.
When travelling, we tried to go scuba diving, snorkeling, horseback riding, and hiking. We often go camping and skiing yearly with our friends and families. At home, we both enjoy taking our dogs hiking and walking in the nearby parks. We also enjoy going to many sporting events and we are an avid fans of hockey, college basketball, and football.
Our Home & Pets:
We want you to know that our home is a warm and welcoming one that will ensure your child will have the environment to grow and learn about this beautiful world. We live in a fantastic neighborhood with excellent award winning schools, close to parks and beautiful scenery.
After marriage we had our first adoption together. Darren already had Molly, a mixture of Labrador Retriever, Rhodesian Ridgeback, and Sheppard mix. We then adopted Jake, a Chocolate Lab, and Pointer mix puppy. Molly and Jake enjoy vacationing with us, going for long road trips, walks, cuddling, and playing with our nephews and nieces.
