Choose A Family : Parent Profile
Jenny and David
Dear Birthparents,
First, we want to thank you for having the courage to choose adoption. We know this must be a difficult decision to select a family for your child, and we are so grateful that you are considering us for your child’s future. We hope this letter will give you a window into our lives and hearts, and help give you the peace to make your choice. We support whatever decision you make. Let us tell you a little about ourselves.
David was born in Los Angeles, the second of four kids, then moved to the East Coast where he grew up surrounded by grandparents, aunts, uncles and many cousins. Jenny, one of five children, was also born in the Los Angeles area but spent most of her childhood in the Midwest. We were both raised in stable, loving homes and our parents instilled in us a reverence for God and a commitment to family.
We both returned to Southern California where we met and were married in 2002. We have one beautiful child, our 6 year old daughter Linnea. She is a bright, lovable girl who has taught us about the joys and challenges of parenthood. We naturally wanted our daughter to grow up knowing the companionship of siblings, as we both did. When we found out we were unable to have another biological child, we turned our thoughts toward adoption.
Meet David- by Jenny
David and I started our relationship as friends hanging out at his brother and sister-in-law’s home. We found out we have many things in common and over the next few months we became romantically interested in each other. I gradually found out what a smart, funny guy he is. We fell in love while taking moonlit walks on the beach, visiting museums and gardens, and poking around antique shops. We are still very much in love after eight years of marriage. David is my best friend and companion. He is a faithful and loving husband, and one of the most stable people I know. We enjoy gardening and working together on home improvement projects. He is great in the kitchen and often gives me a break from cooking to wow us with a new culinary creation. Dave makes some mean chicken wings!
One of my favorite things about David is what a great dad he is. He is loving and playful, and each day I see something new that I admire about “Dadda” as he cares for our daughter. He is a patient teacher and recently he played a piano duet with our daughter Linnea at her recital. I was so proud of them both! I look forward to seeing how he will nurture and raise another child.
David studied furniture design and production and now runs a successful finish carpentry business. He is a talented woodworker and has a well-earned reputation for doing excellent work. Owning his own business gives him flexibility to spend time with family. When he is able, David loves to go deep-sea fishing, watch football, or play one of his numerous musical instruments - trumpet, tuba, guitar, mandolin, organ, or piano, just to name a few.

Meet Jenny- by David
Jenny was very easy to get to know. I found we had much in common, and quickly fell in love with her. She is the most thoughtful, loving, considerate person I know. Jenny is always finding some reason or other to send a card to someone. She is generous, patient, and caring, and a wonderful mother. To quote her sister, “Every child deserves to have a mother like Jenny.” I fully agree. She sings like an angel, and the pies she bakes are museum quality.
Jenny began college on a vocal scholarship and later studied food science and nutrition and worked many years in that industry. Before we met, Jenny went on numerous trips to Europe and Russia and remains in contact with her friends abroad. She left a successful career in a busy test kitchen to be a full time mom. Jenny keeps busy helping Linnea with her schooling, introducing her to new and exciting things in the world around her. She enjoys working in the garden, and has an uncanny ability to recall names of plants. She is very creative, and has a great eye for detail. Jenny loves to bake for special occasions, and likes to read or cross stitch when she finds time in the evenings.

About Linnea
Linnea was born in 2004 and is a fun-loving girl. She is an avid reader, and also enjoys writing letters and emails to her friends, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She loves doing schoolwork, playing the piano, and is an aspiring artist, but also has a great time riding her bike around with her favorite Raggedy Ann doll on her lap or playing outside with our puppy, Gerda – an energetic Pug/Boston Terrier mix.
Linnea’s favorite season is winter and she is a natural born sledder. We also can’t keep her from the water; she loves swimming lessons and every time it rains (which is not that often in Southern California) she runs outside with her raincoat and boots to splash around in the puddles.
Linnea especially enjoys babies. She can’t wait to become a big sister and share the finer points of such skills as shoe tying, propelling oneself on a swing, or breaking the bread into small enough pieces to feed all of the ducks. When we informed Linnea of our plans to adopt she exclaimed, “We could adopt ten!”
Loved Ones
Our love for family is one of the things that attracted us to each other and remains a priority for us. We travel to Pennsylvania to visit David’s family when we can and talk on the phone weekly. Jenny’s family lives close by in Southern California so we are able to visit them often. Linnea has four loving grandparents, plenty of uncles and aunties and lots of cousins to share with a sibling. Our whole family supports our decision to adopt and is as excited as we are to welcome another precious child.

Family Life
Another thing we have in common as a couple is that we love to sing. We are part of a choral recording group that has produced 10 CD’s distributed worldwide. Our home is filled with books, musical instruments and art supplies. We like getting together with friends, enjoy learning new things and trying out different ethnic restaurants, which is easy since we live in a culturally diverse area. We value education and promise to give your child every opportunity to learn about and appreciate new things as they grow up, because we feel it will better prepare them for a full, meaningful life.
We have a comfortable home with a big yard in a sunny Southern California neighborhood. Our daughter likes to swing from the elm tree in the back and loves trying to catch butterflies and ladybugs in our flowerbeds. We like spending time outdoors enjoying nature. We have easy access to beautiful gardens, beaches and the mountains where we go hiking when we can. On free weekends, we like to spend time together as a family. We also enjoy traveling and look forward to introducing your child to new places, camping, and roadtrips across the country like we enjoyed as children.
THANK YOU!
Thank you for taking the time to get to know us. Hopefully, after reading this you will want to speak with us and get to know us better. We have so much love in our hearts and look forward to sharing that love with another little one. We believe each child is a gift of God and promise you we will nurture and cherish your child with all of our heart.
We truly appreciate your courage in caring for your unborn baby by choosing to make an adoption plan.
Warmly,
David and Jenny
