Julie & Steve
Dear Birth Mother,
We are excited about welcoming a child to our family to love and care for and we appreciate you taking the time to learn about us. Our family consists of Steve, Julie, our toddler, Stevie, and Audrey, our wonderful yellow Labrador Retriever. We have a wonderful life together, and we have a lot of love to give and want to share our love with a child. Certainly, we cannot pretend to know how you are feeling at this moment, but we promise that your child will always find love, warmth, laughter, and protection with us. You will always be in our hearts and prayers as the generous bearer of our most precious gift. Always know your child will be treasured, cherished, and grow up surrounded by love.

About Our Family
We are a loving, happy family hoping to expand our family through the miracle of adoption. We have been together for seven years and married for five. Our home is filled with lots of love and happiness (not to mention silliness, music, laughter, and fun.) Steve is an Associate Director of Supply Chain Operations with a biotechnology company and Julie is an At-Home Mother to our toddler, Stevie, who is almost 3 years old. Prior to becoming an at-home mother, Julie she was a teacher for 10 years both nationally and internationally.
Our son Stevie was born 3 months early (at 25 weeks and 2 days gestation) weighing 1 lb 8 oz. He is 3 now and is doing great developmentally and to date has no residual problems from his prematurity. He is strong, smart, very active, very loving and compassionate, and very naughty!
We have a strong marriage and enjoy hiking and camping, going to the opera, playing with our dog, and spending time with our friends and family. We love international and national travel and look forward to sharing these experiences with our children. With Steve's family still in North Carolina, we also travel there several times a year to enjoy family time. We live in a four bedroom home with a fenced-in back yard in a county with one of the best school districts in our state. We picked this area with the plan for children in our future. Many of the families in our neighborhood have children that range from infants to teenagers. We enjoy fun activities and want to share the joys of life with another child.
We were married on 10/21/06. This is the first marriage for both of us. We met 8 years ago on a blind date and found that we had a lot in common. We had both traveled to Spanish speaking countries and had similar goals and interests. Julie finds Steve to be very kind, caring, intelligent, responsible and optimistically realistic. Steve describes Julie as extremely kind, organized, dependable, focused on being a good parent, and the “CEO” of the home! We communicate very well and have similar philosophies in and goals. Together we enjoy traveling, cooking, hiking, outdoor activities, opera and being a family.
About Steve
Steve is a family-oriented, loyal and honest man. He enjoys hiking, exercising, watching sports and movies, barbequing and fishing, as well as professional development. He also likes working in the yard and taking on home projects.
In the middle of his senior year, Steve left to spend one year studying abroad in Melbourne, Australia. He loved his experiences there and has remained close to his host family. While in college, he became a phlebotomist, working at a nearby hospital part-time. He became very active in community volunteer programs with a boys' home for incarcerated teens and at a homeless shelter and worked one semester with Habitat for Humanity.
About Julie and Stevie
Julie is a compassionate, kind, honest and hopeful person who is accepting of others. She enjoys painting, reading, travel, cooking, friendships; participating in playgroups with her son; and attending foreign language conversation classes. She also enjoys volunteer work.
Julie spent ten years in Colorado as a program analyst for the government and then decided she wanted to be a teacher. She has had several teaching positions teaching math, including one and a half years in Latin America teaching math to Guatemalan and Bolivian students. More recently Julie taught high school Math and Science. She is proficient in and loves to speak Spanish.

Stevie loves to read and paint and go hiking with his Mom and Dad. One of his favorite places is the children's gym where he goes with Julie for classes or free-play. He also loves the library, listening to music, and visits to the interactive children's museum in North Carolina where Steve's parents live.

About Our Home and Parenting:
We believe that child-rearing is the most important job a parent can take on. We feel it is important to express our love, and to provide a safe and secure environment for our children. Julie's experience as a teacher is a great benefit in raising a child, and she has sought out parent groups and friends with children as an additional support. We both fully share the parenting role and each of us has an individual, unique relationship with our son. Once we are lucky enough to be given the opportunity to adopt a child, Julie will maintain her role as a full-time mother and Steve will take family leave to be at home and bond with the baby.
We live in a four bedroom home with a fenced-in back yard in a county with one of the best school districts in our state. We picked this area with the plan for children in our future. Many of the families in our neighborhood have children that range from infants to teenagers. We enjoy fun activities and want to share the joys of life with another child.
We are both firm believers that happy, successful children are those that have involved parents. We want to be those involved parents for your baby. We will encourage your child to develop their own talents and will provide opportunities for them to participate in activities that interest them. We want your child to be well rounded and involved in a variety of activities. Schooling is important to us, so we will teach them the importance of hard work and education. We will also show them how to be kind, thoughtful, and helpful to others.
Our second child will know they were adopted from their birth. We will tell them often of the beautiful and special way they were brought into our home. You will always be spoken of with great honor and respect. Your child will know how much you love them and that your decision was made out of complete love.

Conclusion
We hope that this letter has helped you to get to know us and has piqued an interest in knowing us better. We would like to meet with you so that we can better know each other and determine if our situations are a good fit.
Respectfully,
Steve, Julie and Stevie
