Choose A Family : Parent Profile
Michelle and Mike
Dear Birth Mom:
First of all we want to say thank you. Thank you for having the courage and the love for your baby to carry her, and then place her in a home with a family who will love her and provide a safe, wonderful, financially stable, nurturing home to grow up in.

Who We Are
We are Mike and Michelle and we have been happily married for 27 years. We live in the great state of Texas and have four children. The oldest three are grown and living on their own. Our youngest still lives at home. They are all excited at the prospect of getting a new baby sister.
Where We Live
We live outside Houston in a beautiful five bedroom home on 5 1/2 acres. We are in one of the best school districts in the State. Education is very important to us. Our oldest son Michael is an attorney, and our daughter Jennifer teaches kindergarten not far from our home. Matthew, our funniest and most creative lives and works in Austin. Christopher is 16 and a junior in high school.
Along with our son Christopher, we share our home with some pets. We have a horse named "Fly", two dogs "Annie" and "Otto" and a cat who lives in the barn to keep the mice away.
We have lived here almost seven years. It is a blissful, wonderful home to raise children in.

About Michelle
I was born in Montana but my parents moved us to Washington state when I was two. They later divorced, which gave me a bigger sibling pool! I have one sister and a half brother and two half sisters. When I was 16 my mom moved us back to Montana so she could care for her ailing mother. It was a great thing for her to do. I met my husband Mike the summer before when we were there on vacation. Although we had eyes for each other we didn't start dating until after we moved. I made the cheerleading squad and Mike was on the football team. The rest is history and we have been together ever since. He is the love of my life!
I have always been a stay at home mom and I love it! I tell everyone I have the best job in the world, and I feel very blessed because of it. It is so wonderful to be able to get your children on the school bus in the morning, and be waiting for them in the afternoon when they get home to hear all about their day. I also like to take them to whatever activities they are interested in be it dance, cheerleading, horseback riding lessons or anything in which they have showed interest!
I also have a few hobbies I like to do. Riding our horse Fly is by far my favorite, but I also love to read (my favorite book is Gone With the Wind), cross stitch, and work out at the gym.

About Mike
I was born and raised in Montana and have five brothers and sisters. Sadly my mother passed away in 2007, but before that my parents had a long wonderful happy marriage. They adopted my youngest brother in 1988 when a family member was not able to care for him. He is and was such a blessing to our family.
After Michelle and I married, I joined the Army for three years. Then after I was discharged we moved to Texas and started working for the same company I still work for today. I started at the very bottom and worked my way up to General Manager. I love what I do and have been with the company almost 24 years.
I also have a few hobbies I enjoy. I love to go deep sea fishing on our boat. Our boys and I go quite often, weather permitting. We have recently caught blue marlin, sail fish and tuna. I also love to golf with them, and I am a huge Dallas Cowboy fan. Even though we don't live in Dallas we still try to drive up at least once a year and take in a home game and cheer them on.

Mike and Michelle Together
We love to travel together and as a family. Over the years we have taken many wonderful trips. We have visited Mexico several times, also London and Scotland, and last spring break we took Christopher to New York City for a week. We went to all the sites you would expect to see when visiting for the first time. The World Trade Center site, Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building to name a few. We also like to go home to Montana and visit family at least once a year.
Almost all our extended family lives in Montana and Washington state. Mike's brother lives in San Antonio with his wife and children. We pretty much spend every holiday with them. All holidays especially Christmas are a big affair at our house. We have so much fun celebrating together. We always treat our entire family to a nice dinner out on Christmas eve then come home and everyone opens just one gift.(new pj's) Then on Christmas morning the kids are usually up before the crack of dawn because they are so excited to open their gifts. Michelle must still be a kid because she also so excited she can't hardly sleep and is also up early.
We are both Christians and put our faith in God. We are members of a wonderful church and attend services most Sundays. The children's program is really fun there.
One of the highlights of our marriage was our 25th wedding anniversary. We weren't able to have a wedding when we first got married, so for our 25th we renewed our vows to each other and had a beautiful ceremony with all our friends and loved ones in attendance. Our children stood up and were right there with us. It was so meaningful to us and to our kids. We are absolutely head over heels in love with each other and we always have been.
Why Adopt?
After we had Christopher we believed our family to be complete, so Michelle had her tubes tied. We felt four C-Sections were enough for her body to take. We have regretted that decision ever since, and we would love the opportunity to raise another little girl. She will be cherished unconditionally everyday of her life, and we feel we can provide her with a wonderful home and future. We will treat her like the jewel that she is and she will be LOVED!
Thank you for considering us as adoptive parents to your baby girl. Rest assured she will grow up knowing what a special thing you did for her, that you will always love her and want what is best for her. We will never discourage her from seeking you if that is your wish. We long to add a baby girl to our family to love and adore.
Sincerely,
Mike and Michelle
