Thank you for considering adoption. We appreciate you allowing a couple such as us to start a family. We are humbled by your courage and selflessness to consider adoption. We hope after viewing our portfolio you will know more about us and our dedication to giving a caring and nurturing loving home. We are so excited for the opportunity to start a family after trying for so many years. We have an abundance of love and happiness that we want to share for a child in our life.

A Bit About Us
We met each other during the winter of 2002 on a bus trip to Mammoth ski area. This was so fitting since we both are so passionate about mountains and skiing. Three adventurous and loving years later we were standing at the altar sharing our personal vows with each other. We are true soul mates. Not only do we share many interests-- skiing, hiking, bicycling, gourmet food, traveling (and much more) -- but we also share common values of honesty, integrity, respect, and compassion. About three years ago one of our goals was to have a child. Through countless tries to conceive on our own we have redefined our journey to becoming parents. As a teenager Terri was playing with her aunt's adopted two children with whom she was just smitten. Terri remembers saying to herself “I want to adopt one day”. So, choosing adoption for us came very natural as it brings Terri back full circle from that very day when she was a young girl wishing to adopt one day in the future. We are two excited prospective parents who would be so grateful and happy to receive the gift of a child.
About Terri

Terri is a wonderful, vibrant person. I don't have enough space on this page to say all of the great things that I could say about her!! What I mean by this is that you have to meet her to see how much love she has for people. People around her feel this compassion and will often remember her months later--even if that was their first time they had ever met her!! Of course I am the lucky one. Because the people closest to her are the ones who receive Terri's most intense feelings of love. I certainly have felt her immense love toward me in so many ways! These are some of the many reasons that I think Terri will be a great parent.
Another great thing about Terri is how passionate she is about her hobbies and interests. Terri loves to cook. For example, she will eat a tasty dish at a restaurant, and she will try to duplicate that same dish at home.. Often the dish will be better! Terri has been in the music industry for 24 years and she has worked as a music engineer with acclaimed recording artists. She now manages the studio and has the flexibility to work from home.
I sincerely feel that Terri's energy, passion for life, and compassion for others will make her a wonderful mother. You only have to meet her and spend a little time with her and you will understand what I mean!
About Nolan

Nolan is a patient and caring man with a very big heart. I am so blessed to have him in my life. He is so committed to our marriage and being a team player. He is my best friend, my confidant, and my warrior. Nolan will make a great dad with his love, affection and passion for life. Nolan has been a school psychologist for 14 years and works day to day with children who have special needs. Nolan gives his full commitment and caring heart to each child. He has also worked with after school hiking programs to show young teenagers the joy of outdoors. One of my favorite things about Nolan is when I get home from work Nolan is right there at the door to greet me everyday with the biggest smile ready to hug me with so much affection. I know he will give his future child the same warmth and love after he returns from school everyday. Nolan is fluent in Spanish. He loves learning new languages and always eager to try new things. He is so smart and loves reading books from literature to mystery novels. He will be the best story teller to a child. I couldn't have picked a better partner. He is fun loving with a great sense of humor and is a man full of life ready to share his love with a son or daughter. We look forward to growing old together and raising a family.
Our Wonderful Family
Terri's parents have been married for over 48 years and live just 30 minutes away. They love to come over to help with anything around the house and then relax with us playing cards and board games. Terri's parents are retired now after running a successful restaurant business for 25 years together. Terri learned the importance of a hard work ethic and the gift of kindness to people every day. Terri’s parents used to give each and every restaurant customer a Christmas present every year to show their appreciation for their patronage. Her parents’ ongoing generosity and love continues to this day; it is showered to all they know. Both Terri and her one brother have learned these traits from their parents. Terri’s brother has been happily married for 18 years. They have two beautiful daughters, Isabel and Crystal. The best part is that they are also only a short drive away.
Many members of Nolan’s family come from an educational background. Both of his grandfathers, his mother, and his uncle worked as teachers. His maternal grandfather was a highly respected school principal as well. Nolan’s father has retired as a Creative director in advertising. His job took him to many international locations such as Singapore, Spain, Italy, Germany and Thailand which gave Nolan a love of traveling and being open to so many cultures.
Nolan’s mother is now retired from teaching full-time in a classroom but continues to substitute teach part-time and also works at her local pet rescue agency fostering cats and dogs for adoption. We are fortunate to have loving families and our parents look forward to spending lots of time with their new grandchild.
Out & About
Both Terri and I love traveling and enjoy meeting the people of each country and learning about their cultures. We look forward to sharing our love of traveling and adventure with our new child. This will include local trips to the mountains, camping, hiking, cross-country skiing as well as traveling abroad where we will expose our child to new cultures and experiences. We have already thought about ways we can take our child on our many active pursuits. From a baby backpack carrier, a baby jogging strollers to Snuggler infant carriers for biking trailers. We want our child be with us to share in all our escapades.
Our Home & Community
We have a warm and beautiful 3 bedroom home with a lovely grass yard and many trees. Our home is in a safe, friendly, and family oriented neighborhood. Our street in particular is very special as the neighbors get together for block events on holidays -- the 4th of July, Memorial Day, Halloween and Christmas . There are BBQs, bouncing jumpers for the kids and potlucks. Our block is filled with children of all ages with entrusted friends and neighbors.
Our Neighborhood
Our neighborhood is surrounded by walking paths, bike paths and lots of beautiful trees. In the fall our street looks like the East Coast with all the trees turning shades of orange fall colors. Our neighborhood also has its own private playground, pools, tennis courts and parks. We are also located in a great school district with schools just blocks away.
Our Purr-fect Pets
We believe animals add so much to a home. Jefferson is our Siamese cat who we call our affectionate gentle bear. His docile nature makes him go limp and relaxed when you pick him up. Minnie is our talkative feline (when she wants our attention she will look at us and meow repeatedly). Minnie also loves to bring piles of her toys as presents to you in the early morning and will meow to let you know your gifts have arrived. Both cats were adopted by us from a local pet rescue agency. We love our furry animals who are a beloved part of our family.
Our Lives at a glance
We both have an intense love of mountains, hiking and camping.
Nolan climbed to the top of Mount Rainier 14,411 feet at age 19.
Terri climbed to the top and descended Mt. Whitney 14,505 feet in one day.
Nolan and Terri love to spend afternoons doing "paint by numbers."
Terri loves to shower her nieces with different fun arts and crafts every time they come over the house.
Terri loves to go fishing and enjoys learning new fishing techniques wherever she fishes.
Nolan loves playing games on his iphone while waiting for Terri to finish fishing.
Nolan ran his first Marathon at age 16.
Terri ran three LA Marathons back to back.
Nolan and Terri continue to run Half Marathons throughout the year.
Terri has been cooking full Thanksgiving dinners for family and friends starting at the age of 15. This tradition still continues!
Nolan loves to collect masks from around world and loves to collect hardcover books.
Terri has a large collections of cookbooks and reads them like a mystery novel!
Nolan worked as a school teacher teaching English and history at the age of 26.
Nolan's favorite childhood memory: When his mother took him to Disneyland at age 7.
Nolan's favorite comfort foods: Nachos with Cheese, Caramel, pork chops.
Terri's favorite childhood memory: Sitting together as a family on Sundays eating her father's corned beef fried rice, crab rangoons and spareribs.
Terri's favorite comfort foods: Fried Chicken with gravy, Roast beef with a jus, Mint chocolate ice cream.
Our Promise to your child
Given the honor, we will nurture our child through all the ups and downs life has to offer. We will provide a loving and stable home with a healthy and open understanding of their adoption story. We want to be involved in every aspect of child's life from parenting, to school projects, sports, plays, to nightly bedtime stories. We both share the conviction of parents being home for a child when they get home. From warm chocolate chip cookies to help with their homework. We want to be hands on parents to offer comfort, guidance, and to be there for them on all their victories. We will be there to cheer and praise them for every accomplishment. The values that are important to us which we would like to instill in our child is honesty, integrity, respect, and compassion for others in every walk of life. We promise to love them unconditionally and provide them with a solid foundation to become the best they can be.
