First of all, thank you for considering our family. You are a brave, amazing and wonderful mother. Please take a moment to review our hearts. Here you will find a stable and loving family of three looking to embrace another child. As you read our story keep in mind that your brave and unselfish act will be fulfilling our family's desire to add a member to our small loving family. We thank you in advance for caring for and loving God's beautiful gift. May the Lord continue to bless you and give you peace.
Our Family/Home:
We live outside a small Texas city surrounded with the luxuries of city living, but the advantages of country living. We have been blessed with a beautiful 4 bedroom home sitting on an acre of land. We live in a child friendly neighborhood and enjoy spending time outside. In addition to our family of three, we have a boxer China. She is like a big teddy bear and loves attention. Most of our days are spent barbequing, walking the dog, playing games, riding bikes, shooting hoops or watching movies.
We have a large extended family and enjoy spending time barbequing, horse-riding, engaging in sports, attending amusement parks, swimming, or simply hanging out with them. It feels like we are having a party every time we are together and you can bet there is always a feast. Both sides of our family have expressed their blessings and wait with arms wide open to embrace and celebrate the new addition to our family. Our second family (our friends), have also been very supportive and are anticipating the day we will bring home our second child. Both family and friends cannot wait for the green light to throw a welcoming party. Rest assured that your baby will not lack in physical or emotional support.
About Gerardo:I come from a family of 9. I was born and raised in California. I did spend a few of my childhood years in Mexico. I served 7 years in the military. I am now a police officer and have been in law enforcement for the past 9 years. I truly enjoy my job and have been recognized several times by my superiors. My hobbies include: kickboxing, soccer, going to the gym, and watching movies.
Gerardo in Priscilla's words:
Gerardo is both a loving husband and father. We met over a decade ago and have been happily married for a majority of that time. I remember the first day we met like it was yesterday. I was surrounded by a Navy soccer team and there he stood…this tall, thin, athletic, quiet guy. I specifically recall him because he was the only one not talking to me. That is when I knew that I would love to get to know him better. After a decade of marriage we are still in the process of getting to know each other and couldn’t be more in love. Each day he comes home and embraces both me and our daughter. We spend all of our time together: laughing, playing, and cuddling. Gerardo absolutely loves children and they are attracted to him. Our nephews wait at the door just waiting to wrestle their Tio down to the ground. They enjoy showing him their trucks and are anxious to learn a new take down technique. Our daughter also loves spending time with her daddy. They enjoy time together learning kickboxing, shooting hoops, or having make over parties. Gerardo is the most amazing man that I have ever met and I cannot wait to raise another child with him.
About Priscilla:
I come from a family of 10. I have lived in TX most of my life. I spent 5 ½ years in the US Navy. I am a part-time stockbroker and have been in the brokerage business for the last 8 years. I enjoy my job, but love the fact that I get off early enough to enjoy being a mother. I have always enjoyed being around children: as a teen I used to babysit and now I volunteer in the church nursery. My hobbies include: horse riding, Zumba, bike riding, and grilling.
Priscilla in Gerardo's words:
Priscilla is a wonderful wife and an even better mother. We have been married for over 10 years. Priscilla is patient and loving with both me and our daughter. Ariana, even though she loves me very much, always sides with her mommy especially when playing games. They make a great team. Ariana and I depend on Priscilla for many things cooking, cleaning, helping with homework, and taking care of us when we are ill just to name a few. The more time I spend with her the more I realize just how big her heart is and how I don’t tell her often enough just how much I love her. I cannot wait to see her eyes light up with happiness upon receiving the news of our future child.
About Ariana:
I am currently an only child. Those who have siblings probably think I am lucky. Little do they know…it is very lonely not having a sibling with whom to play and love. I am surrounded with friends and over 35 cousins. I enjoy having any of them over and am saddened when they leave. I have been asking God for a little brother or sister for the past few years. I know that he will answer my prayers. I spend most of my time: reading, drawing, painting, playing games, watching movies, horse riding, or playing outside with my dog. My mom and I especially enjoy playing Guitar Hero together.
Ariana in Our words:
Ariana is a true blessing to us. She is a very smart, athletic, loving little girl. We cannot imagine our lives without her. We do not take our blessing for granted. We were told multiple times throughout our pregnancy that she was to be born with Down-Syndrome. We will never forget how scared we were to hear those words. Despite the doctor’s recommendation to abort the pregnancy, we chose to continue no matter the odds. She is the best decision of our lives. Not only was she born healthy, she has grown to be an amazing, talented little girl. We now find ourselves unable to conceive another child of our own and look to you in order to fulfill our hearts desire.
In Closing:
We are filled with excitement and anticipation as we await our match. It has been a long time, since we have had a baby in our lives and cannot wait to embark on that journey once again. We are humble people and cannot promise to shower your child with materialistic items or extravagant vacations. We can however, promise to provide in abundance to your baby: love, stability, knowledge, happiness, and most importantly family. We will embrace your baby as our own and shower him with affection daily. You, also, will remain a part of our family. Your act of love, bravery and unselfishness will never be forgotten. No matter what decision you make, may the Lord comfort and guide you through the next chapter of your life as we anticipate the next chapter in ours.
