Tim and Christine
Welcome!
We’re so glad you found us! We’re Tim and Christine from Northern California and we hope to complete our family through adoption.
You may be looking through lots of letters from hopeful adoptive couples like us, feeling overwhelmed, scared, or uncertain about your decision to place your baby with another family. We, too, have faced varied emotions in our journey to adoption, but we have all come to this point out of selfless love for a child. You have a desire to choose a loving, nurturing family for your child, and we have a desire to fill a child’s life with love, compassion and joy. It may just be that we’re destined to meet each other.
We understand that you want to be sure you are making the best plan for your baby’s future, and we admire your courage in considering adoption. We invite you to read our letter and learn a bit about us. We’re both easy to talk with and we look forward to sharing more information about our family as well as getting to know you! This may just be the start of a beautiful, lifelong friendship…

Meet Tim
I grew up in a small, rural Oklahoma town and enjoyed many of the attributes found in Midwest communities - marching in Fourth of July parades, volunteering at pancake supper fundraisers, and participating in Boy Scouts. As a kid, I loved the outdoors and played a variety of sports including football and golf, both of which I continued to play throughout college. I appreciate my solid family roots and upbringing and continue to be especially close with my two brothers who are my closest friends. Many of our vacations include long visits with my side of the family, who live in various parts of the country.
My athletic interests are now centered on cycling and weight training, but I still love an afternoon of golf with friends. Though I no longer actively play football, I still enjoy coaching little league and cheering for my favorite teams – the Oklahoma Sooners and Dallas Cowboys. I enjoy entertaining with Christine and our friends have come to know me for my “smoke-lahoma” slow-cooked brisket (a delicious tribute to my Oklahoma roots) and my “hair on your chest” chili.
I started my career in banking after college and currently manage a team of commercial lenders at a local community bank. No matter how much I love my work, my focus these days is being a dad! I simply relish being the first to greet my daughter every morning, watching her smile, and hearing her laughter when I get home from work. Being a father has brought such joy and happiness to my life that I cannot wait to become a dad again!
Christine Adores Tim!
Tim is my best friend and life partner. He’s a wonderful, supportive husband to me and a loving, patient father to Julianna. He has a terrific wit that keeps us laughing and loves getting down on the floor to play with Julianna. I often find him singing to her, inventing little games to play with her, and capturing memorable moments on camera to share with our extended families and friends, including Julianna’s birthfamilies. To know Tim is to see what a special person he is, and I am so lucky to spend my life with him!
Meet Christine
I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, and my affectionate Italian-American family all live nearby. My two sisters are my best friends and my parents recently celebrated 40 years of marriage and still live in our childhood home. My family is very close and we spend lots of time together throughout the year. With five little ones in the family (so far!), there is always an abundance of noise, laughter, great food and good times!
My interests include cooking and entertaining, learning to speak Italian, bicycling and reading. My culinary specialties include my traditional Italian lasagna with homemade sauce that is to die for -- great for sharing with hungry friends! I recently completed my first sprint triathlon and hope to compete again this fall. My guilty pleasure is reading and I always have my nose in a book for at least a few minutes each day.
I work part-time in finance for a family-friendly company located just a few miles from our home. My work schedule is flexible and enables me to spend lots of time doing what I love best -- being a mom! On the days I’m not working, I thoroughly enjoy going to playgroups with Julianna, walking down to the park to swing and slide, or just playing together at home. I plan to be home full time when we are blessed with a second baby. I truly savor every minute of motherhood and look forward to sharing my heart with another child!
Tim Adores Christine!
Julianna and I are so lucky to have such a beautiful, caring and loving mother and wife. Christine is a devoted mom and her gentle, patient manner has inspired me to be a better husband and father! With a smile that heals, she cheers us up when we’re feeling down, kisses our daughter's bruised knees and encourages her to keep trying. She’s made our home into a happy and peaceful place for us to spend time together and a place where friends and family are always welcome. Christine is my partner in every aspect of our life together, and I look forward to raising our family with her by my side!
Meet Julianna
Julianna is a sweet little girl who loves to sing, dance and be tickled. She is naturally curious and enjoys exploring the world around her, trying to figure out how things work, and tagging along after her older cousins. She especially loves eating cheesy crackers, taking care of her baby doll, and watching sports with Daddy.
A typical week in Julianna’s life usually includes storytime at our local library, our Friday morning play group, walks to the park to swing and feed the ducks, nightly family dinners, and lots of quality time at home as a family. Julianna is absolutely adored by her Mommy and Daddy (naturally!), grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. We are all so grateful that adoption brought her into our lives! We think she’ll make a great big sister and will help to teach her younger sibling lots of important things, like which foods are the yummiest, how to give great hugs, and how fun bath time can be!
Parenting and Adoption
Since the beginning, we wanted to become parents together. We hoped and dreamed together about the joy, laughter, hugs and kisses that would surround our family. After experiencing infertility and accepting that we could not conceive a child, our unwavering desire to raise children together led us to embrace adoption as the way to expand our family.
Two days after Christmas 2007, we were contacted by a special young woman who wanted to talk with us about an adoption plan. A few months later, our beautiful daughter Julianna was lovingly placed in our arms by her birthparents. Though they were both only 18 at the time, they made an incredibly loving and mature decision to allow us to be Julianna’s parents.
We are raising our daughter in an open adoption because we believe that a child should not have to lose one family in order to gain another. We regularly talk with Julianna’s birth families and our relationship is based on respect and real affection because of the unique and enduring bond between our families. We faithfully honor the important role of Julianna’s birth family in her life and will welcome the same level of openness with our second child’s birth family.
We both grew up with siblings and are so thankful for the lifelong friendships we share with our brothers and sisters. We long to experience the joy and fullness that multiple children bring to a family and eagerly await the day when we welcome a precious new baby into our family. We believe that one of the important gifts we will give our new baby is a sibling, in addition to loving parents and all of the other extended family waiting to shower our bundle of joy with love and affection!
Family and Friends
We were each brought up to value the importance of spending time together as a family. So it’s natural that spending quality time with extended family remains one of our core values now that we’re raising our own family.
Christine's family lives nearby and we see them often for lively gatherings including our annual summer waterskiing trip and all of the birthdays and holidays in between. Tim’s family is a bit more spread out across Southern California, Texas and Indiana. We see them several times each year for vacations and holiday celebrations. Our extended families can’t wait to add another seat at the table for all of our gatherings!
We also have an awesome, supportive group of friends that we love to spend time with at Giants baseball games, summer concerts in the park, weekend skiing and houseboating trips, and sharing meals at each other’s homes. Most of our friends also have young children, so our get-togethers include lots of laughter and fun for all ages!
Our Values
We value our family traditions. Christine’s father has been a vintner for more than 40 years, and her family gathers annually to celebrate the fall harvest. We pick and crush the grapes then invite our local cousins to join us for a delicious family meal seasoned with story-telling and traditional Italian songs.
Since we’ve been married, we’ve also started some new traditions. We host a 4th of July party that has become a neighborhood favorite. Later in the year, we have an annual pumpkin carving contest as we prepare for Halloween. Results are usually disputed as we all think our own pumpkin is the best! At the very end of the year, we write a long letter to Julianna that we tuck into her Christmas stocking. The letter highlights all of the important things that happened in her life during the year and we believe that her collection of letters will be a treasure trove of memories for her when she is grown.
We both appreciate the value of education. We have been privileged to enjoy the benefits of education and the kinds of diverse experiences that round out a formal education. We have traveled extensively within the United States and abroad, and we read on a variety of subjects. We plan to share with our children our love of learning and travel, and want to provide them with many opportunities to enrich their lives based on their own unique interests and talents.
Home Sweet Home
We live in a safe, friendly neighborhood about 30 miles east of San Francisco that has beautiful parks, cycling trails, and open space preserves. Our community offers excellent schools, sports leagues, and frequent fun-runs and festivals. We can walk to our local library for children’s storytime and enjoy splashing in the pool on hot summer days.
We also enjoy many of the great activities that nearby San Francisco has to offer. From the sea lions that hang out off of Pier 39 to the California Academy of Sciences in Golden Gate Park, there are tons of fun outings for families and kids. We’ve already shared some of these treasured experiences with Julianna and look forward to sharing them with another child, too!
Just the beginning…
We wish we had the perfect words to tell you how much being parents means to us! Hopefully our letter has given you a sense of who we are and assured you that your baby will be raised in a safe, secure, and most importantly, a loving home. We would like to get to know you, learn about your dreams for your child, and we look forward to answering any questions that you may have about our lives and family.
We have no way to know when another child will come into our family, but we do know that we will love them unconditionally and will raise them to appreciate the selfless gift of adoption as much as we do. We hope to get to know you, and we trust that this is just the beginning of a lifelong friendship!
