Dear Birth Mother,

Hi, we are Tom and Anita, and we are fun loving parents who are excited about adopting a precious baby. We want to thank you for helping us with this journey of extending our family. We can't imagine all of the emotions and challenges you are facing right now and we would like you to know we admire your strength and most of all the best love you are giving to your child.

We will always be thankful to you for helping us complete our family and for the incredible joy you will be bringing us. Tom doesn't have any children of his own and can't wait to be a dad! We are excited about raising a newborn from the very beginning together. Hopefully as you get to know us better, something about us will stand out that will make your feel comfortable and allow us to be the right match that you envision for your child. We look forward to meeting you in the near future.

Who we are as a Family
We met five years ago through an online dating website. After emailing each other for couple of weeks we went on our first date in Laguna Beach talking and getting to know one another for hours. At that moment we both knew we were going to start our journey together……

We got engaged the following year, and we got married in the summer of 2008 at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas and had a beautiful ceremony and reception with 100 of our closet family members and friends. We enjoy going on vacations as a family. We have gone to Hilton Head Island to enjoy where Tom spent his summer vacations as a child; Victoria wanted to go on a Cruise to Mexico to practice her Spanish, and we like to go to Aruba, where we honeymooned. Sometimes we just keep it simple and hang out in our backyard making s'mores. It doesn't really matter where we are or what we are doing so long as we are all together.

IOne of the trips we like to do is go to Big Bear. We have a time share there. We enjoy going there in the winter to go skiing and snowboarding. In the summer time,we go fishing and enjoy taking walks.

Every year we plan at least two trips a year as a family. It's usually during spring and summer break. In addition, we enjoy taking weekend trips as well together. We love introducing Victoria and Derek to new things, different cultures, and we also enjoy taking trips that our parents did with us as kids so they can have memories as well. This is something we would like to continue with our newest member of the family.

Introducing my husband Tom (written by Anita)
Tom was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. He graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in finance and management. He works as a Senior Project Manager for a Commercial Floor Covering Contractor for the last 8 years, managing contracts, crews and installation.

Even though Tom does not have his own children he has taken to Victoria and Derek as if they are his own. He enjoys taking Derek and Victoria to see the Atlanta Braves when they come to Southern California and going to the beach. His job is very flexible so if Victoria and Derek have a school presentation he will always be there. Since he can take time off based on his flexible schedule, Tom intends to take some time off and spend time with our new baby. Tom has learned to be a handy man around the house, installing light and plumbing fixtures, carpeting the house and building a dog house for Casey and Roxy. One of his traditions with his dad is watching Alabama Football during the fall season, and he can't wait to pass on this tradition with our son or daughter. I know Tom will be a great father and he is excited about showing and teaching the baby his family traditions and making new tradition's with our family.

Anita was born in Hollywood, California and she was adopted at 3 weeks old by loving parents. Three years later Anita's brother Jeff was adopted. They are a very close net family and Anita has expressed that her birth mom gave her the best gift ever which was the gift of life.

Anita grew up in Southern Califronia and went to Nursing School and became an LVN (Licensed Vocational Nurse). For the last 8 yars Anita has finally found her niche as a Hospice Nurse. She enjoys helping families during this difficult time and making familes feel comfortable. Anita also has a flexible job so she can take her kids to and from school and after school activities, and she intends to take some extra time off as well to spend time with the new baby. If there is one thing that I truly admire about Anita is that she loves her children more than anything on this earth. Whenever they're away, she can't wait for them to come home, and because of this love that she has I know she will be a great mother to our new baby. Anita is very outgoing and has a zest for life that always keeps a smile on our faces. She loves to cook and garden around our home. She enjoys teaching Victoria how to cook her grandmother's recepies and baked goods as well as how to knit and sew. Anita enjoys taking bike rides with Derek as well as walking the dogs. Anita is looking forward to growing our family and to keep our traditions going from years to come.

Meet Victoria and Derek
Victoria and Derek are ages 16 and 13. Victoria is a junior in high school and plays JV Lacrosse. Victoria is into fashion and she will be searching for a college soon that specializes in this field and someday she wants to be a designer. Victoria spends her time coming up with creative designs by sewing on her grandmother's sewing machine that she got for her 16th birthday. She is very outgoing. She is willing to try and learn new things. She loves being around kids and enjoys just being a kid. She has volunteered as a camp counselor at a local summer camp for the last several summers. Victoria enjoys going to the beach with her friends, or just hanging around the house with us.

Derek is a 7th grader this year and enjoys playing baseball and just being a kid as well. His dream is playing in the major leagues when he is older. We have friends that have younger kids and he enjoys teaching them how to throw the ball. Derek is very athletic and he loves to ski and snow board. He enjoys skateboarding with the neighborhood kids and they love to show off what they can do.

Victoria and Derek are very excited about having a new addition to our family. They want the baby to see what they did growing up and can't wait to share new experiences with him or her. They are looking forward to meeting the baby and Derek especially can't wait to be a big brother.

Our Family and Friends
Tom has a loving and supportive family and his parents still live in Georgia. His mom has 2 sisters. One lives out here in California near us and the other sister lives in Georgia. Tom's dad has 3 brothers who live in New Orleans, Alabama, and Indiana. Tom has 2 younger sisters. They both live in New York City and work for an advertising company. Neither one of them is currently married however, they adore Victoria and Derek as there niece and nephew. Tom grew up very close to his family and attends family reunions once a year. Even though his family is all over the states you would never think twice considering how much everyone talks to one another on a weekly basis. Tom's mom is a retired school teacher for special needs children. Tom's dad is semi-retired but currently works for the FDIC (Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation) on assignment. They are excited to welcome a new grandchild to the family.

Anita's family lives very close by. Her parents live about 5 minutes from our house. Her brother is married and has a daughter and they are expecting their second child. They too also live nearby. Anita's mom has a brother, and his family all lives in Nevada. Anita's brother and wife are very close to Victoria and Derek. They are very excited for us to adopt so their 2 year old daughter can have a younger cousin to play with! Anita's dad is retired engineer. He is known for his woodwork. He made a cradle out of wood for Victoria, Derek, and our niece Olivia. He is excited to fix it up again for the new baby. Anita's mom is also retired. She was very fortunate to stay home and take care of my brother and me. My parents enjoy spoiling my kids and by brothers kids because that's what grandparents do. They are happy for us and can't wait for us to add to our family!

Where we live

Views of our hometown
Bon Bini – Welcome to our home. Bon Bini means welcome in a language called Papiamento, which is a local language from the island of Aruba.. Above is a picture of our home. It's a great home, and we can't wait to share it with the baby. The two upstairs windows on the left side of the home will be the baby's room. It's a nice spacious room with a walk in closet. Victoria & Derek have their own rooms as well. Our home is in a cute suburb on a cul-de-sac so when you look outside the windows you can hear the kids riding bikes, laughing and playing in the street. We are close to movie theatres, restaurants, and schools in a quiet neighborhood full of parks, where the kids play their organized sports. Palm trees are everywhere, and our home is very tropical with exotic plants and flowers decorating our home with style. Our pool is fenced in and has a waterfall pouring into the pool with decorative rocks around the premises. There is plenty of space in and around the home for our children to run, play, dream, and explore. In the garage, there is pool table and gym equipment. We converted the garage for us to play pool and for the kids to hang with their friends. We enjoy dinner together each night at 6 pm, where we share about our day. We have a great fire pit in the backyard, where we cook our smores, as well as, the grill and patio bar, where we have dinner on cool evenings.

Our Dogs
Casey, the dog on the right is Tom's dog, which he has had for the past 11 years. The kids loved her the minute they met her. She is a lab mix with hound. Roxy is the Chihuahua on the left that we adopted three years back, so Casey would have a companion during the day when we are all at work and school. The kids take them for walks when they come home each day, and they love their daily dog treats.

Thank you for taking the time
Even though Anita has been a mom for the last 16 years, we are both very excited about becoming parents together from the beginning.Raising this baby in a safe and loving environment surrounded by a supportive family is our way of telling you that this baby will be loved forever. Like we do with Victoria and Derek, we plan to teach this baby values that are very necessary in learning how to be a better person and always do the right thing. We teach Victoria and Derek to be honest, and we tell them that they can come to us and tell us anything. We won't judge them but we will always be there for them. We want this baby to feel the same way about us. We will promise that your child will be loved and cared for with all of our hearts and soul. We will support them in every way possible whether it means cheering on the side lines of a game or videotaping them at a recital. We will ensure that your child understands the importance of education and promise to provide several opportunities to learn not only from daily activities but life's lessons. Hopefully we have conveyed enough about ourselves to make that special connection as you have gotten to know us a little better.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about who we are as couple and family and the life we have to offer your child.

With Love

Tom and Anita
